Over the years, I've tried a few other places, particularly when Jay's shop was closed for renovations, but I always end up returning to Jay because of his consistent quality. My twins are miniature schnauzers, and they can be quite whiny and yappy with their high-pitched voices, but Jay has always handled them with love and care. Even if I'm a few weeks late in bringing them in, leading to some matting, Jay never makes me feel like a bad dog mom. Jay was the one who suggested I get my oldest dog's eye checked out because he noticed something concerning. He was right, and it turned out to be an autoimmune disease. I'm very thankful for his keen eye; my dog lived a long, good life, passing at 15. Today, I had my twins groomed. Jay noticed a bump under my girl twin's arm and immediately informed me, reassuring me not to worry but to have it checked by the vet. He mentioned that it might just be due to age. Jay has always been exceptionally kind to my dogs, consistently excellent with grooming, quick, and easy to book appointments with. He's a wonderful person to work with, and I'm so grateful to have him in my neighborhood. My pups are well-groomed every 6-8 weeks, and I couldn't be happier with his services. I made the reservation via phone and got an appointment on Friday the same week. The prices were $75, but it's $65 for first time visits. You need to bring proof of vaccination as well. The staff here are friendly and take time to walk through and explain the process. My dog was scared walking in at first, but after the haircut, she was much happier. I took my dog in for checkup because she was not moving, not walking, and foaming at the mouth. The doctor took her vitals and said "I don't mean to scare you but this is a dangerous situation. No dog comes in like this" he said we have 3 options, leave my dog at his clinic and he can see what he can do. At that point he told me he's not sure what is wrong with my dog but he can see if there are any tests he can run but it will take time. The second option is to bring my dog to an emergency clinic . He kept emphasizing that it will be extremely expensive (I wasn't concerned about the price I just wanted to know what's wrong with my dog and how she can be rescued) He said it will be expensive and third option is to euthanize my dog which they can do right at the clinic. I thought he must be crazy, why would he even suggest putting down my dog?? At this point I just wanted to get my dog to an emergency vet because clearly this Vet doesn't know what he is talking about. After paying $68 for the vet visiting which he basically did NOTHING. I asked him to refer me to the nearest ER. The one he referred me to was Blue Pearl and they also a very condescending vet who quoted me $9.5k+ for 24 hours before they can save my dog. They wanted me to make a decision immediately and tried to dissuade me from switching to another ER because the price would be "similar" . I ended up switching to another hospital that had more empathetic staff. If something seems off listen to your gut and switch to another clinic!!!!! This can help save your pet's life !!!
