*** EXPLICIT PICTURES*** I have been coming to Marie's pet grooming for the past year but today's experience is something I want to share with everyone. Two major issues, one is groomer's attitude and the second is the cut. My 10 month old pup came in for a short cut and the woman in the front emphasized she was very matted so she had to be cut super short. I was fine with whatever they recommended because they were the professionals. Upon picking up my pup, she whimpered in my arms but the cut doesn't look half bad so I paid the overpriced $75 and tipped an extra $15. I brought her to the car and that's when I realized she was bleeding over my hand and my jacket. I looked down and realized one of her toes had actually been sniped off!! I rushed back inside and told her she's bleeding, and the groomer came out from the back and nonchalantly picked her up and brought her to the back (which I can only imagine how many times he's messed up and done this). He comes back and tells me he put some powder on her leg and she will be perfectly fine. He told me the reason why there's a cut was because I (the customer) misplaced my pup into her cage... even though I didn't bring a cage. He gives me the "are we good" kind of gesture and said "you're welcome" to which I just mumbled thanks. I'm currently in the clinic while my pup is undergoing surgery to get her toe surgically removed because they said the cut was too deep which will cost me $300. They also assured there's NO WAY this cut could have been from a cage. Please take caution entering this place. They refuse to acknowledge any wrong doings and you can see that through their reviews as they try to refute every negative response and blame the perspective owners instead. I just wanted a simple groom for my pet and turns out, my pup had to suffer 4 hours to result in terrible grooming and another 3 hours for surgery. Be careful.

We needed a new groomer and would only use one recommended to us. Marie's was recommended by 2 dog owners and I checked Yelp as well as google reviews. I felt confident. Last Thursday my husband dropped off Jaxx and within a half hour, he was called inquiring if Jaxx had something wrong with his left eye. Well, I spend more time with him than anyone and no he didn't, but my silly husband said he had seen him blinking so I wasn't concerned. By Saturday I was making an emergency vet visit, confirming that he had been nicked in the eye. He's been wearing a cone, getting ointment 3X a day and taking pain pills ever since. And we can't complain because my naive husband condoned their lie. And because they lied, my dog had delayed treatment that could've resulted in losing his sight. Accidents happen. Lying to pet owners is unprofessional. We probably would've have asked for half the vet bill or a free grooming and to be more careful. But they decided to protect themselves instead of Jaxx.

We found Marie's through Yelp and we're really happy she opened her grooming store near us. Our old grooming place changed owners and unfortunately the quality just went down hill. I've taken my Maltese here 5 times and it's been great. No matter how much of a mess he is in, he always looks great afterwards. But more importantly is my dog isn't afraid when I bring him there or when I pick him up. It's just reassuring to know my dog's well taken care of when she has him.

I've been bringing my morkie, Cookie, to Marie for the past year and I am more than satisfied with the level of service that Marie provides. Once my other morkie, Butterscotch, is up to date with her vaccinations, I will also be bringing her to Marie's for grooming. My Cookie is an anxious little girl but whenever I pick her up from Marie's, she's tail-wagging happy, smells oh so wonderful and looks like a million bucks! But really though, there are so many things to love about this place such as the reasonable prices, ease and convenience of scheduling appointments online, free parking around the back, and much more. In addition, Marie is a responsible groomer and does not overbook so that your pet will not end up waiting for an unnecessary amount of time to be groomed. Cookie recently had her grooming at Marie's new storefront. I was very impressed! It is bright, modern, and super clean. I highly recommend Marie's pet grooming for your pet grooming needs. Almost 2 years later, am still a faithful fan!! This is the only groomer I bring my dog Rocky to (Pre-Marie, I used to float between several others as none were consistently awesome - until I started bringing Rocky to Marie). I really do love all the care Marie puts into each animal she grooms, it definitely shows in how clean & happy they look. Everything I wrote in my earlier review still holds true. P.S. I forgot to mention the Cash Only thing. For now, I think it is still Cash Only, but it's a smaller business that's in its earlier stages. So maybe with time, this rule could change? In the meantime, the prices are very reasonable, so it's not a huge deal for me to pay in cash.

My dog Brody is a 4 months old Toy Poodle, and after a terrible experience at another groomer, I decided to give Marie's Pet Grooming a try since she has raving reviews. I called on a Saturday hoping for a weekend appointment, and although they were all booked, they actually called me back a few hours later because they had a cancellation. Marie really know what she's doing. My past groomer shaved off Brody's fur on his nose bridge, which made him look old. But Marie did everything I asked for, and Brody never looked cuter. She even gave us a discount on a new collar and threw in some snacks as freebies. The space is very clean and well kept. There's free parking behind the store, which is very convenient. Even though the location is a little far from my house, I'm definitely coming back for Brody's next haircut.

I brought in my 6 month old Shorkie puppy Link for his first haircut today. Since it would be his first time getting groomed I wanted to make sure that I found someplace safe and trustworthy that was close by. I saw how many great reviews Marie had here on yelp so I decided to try it out. Making an appointment is easy and you can even do it online. They send you a confirmation text which is great and you can check your appointment and change it if necessary right from the link in the text. They were extremely friendly and greeted me and both of my pups as soon as we came through the door. The facility is very nice and clean and has a great assortment of pet supplies. Since it was Link's first haircut Marie told me that she would take her time with him to make sure that he was as comfortable as possible. I know that he is a very anxious and excitable puppy so that was very reassuring for me. 15 min before he was finished Marie gave me a call to let me know that everything was going well and that I could come and pick him up soon. I will definitely be bringing my pups back.

Will continue bringing our lil guy to Marie's. Yes, its 2+ hours away. However, the groomers out in LI, are over priced and their work is unacceptable. Even our baby feels it. He's not himself for weeks. But this place, he comes home, he's full of energy, and eats his dinner and struts because he knows he looks cute and he's all smiles all the time! We have had the honor and pleasure of taking our Sophie to Marie's for over six years! She cared excellently for our Yorkie "Sophie, " a 15 y/o senior. Sophie was becoming ill at her age, which could be a challenge because Sophie sometimes had difficulty breathing. Still, Marie and her staff are so compassionate and kind-hearted that Sophie always came home very happy! We know when someone is not treating our pets nicely because we've been down that road! You know exactly what I'm talking about! Well, we lost Sophie in the summer of 2022, and it was tough on us. And there's no replacing her, but this year, we found two unique puppies, and you know where we took them to be pampered and groomed! Of all the groomers we've been to, Marie stands out as much more than a groomer! We highly recommend her! You'll be delighted that you did! read more

I had a really bad experience with My puppy there... after a long process just to make an appointment we took him and when we got h back we couldn't even recognize him... I asked for trim And they shave his whole body To the point that se spots were down to the skin... when I called they just tried to blame it on me saying that might have said that I told them I didn't and they said we'll give you 15% of next time... How on their minds do they think I'm going to take her back ? Not even if it was free i will ever go back to this place.... My big mistake was not reading the reviews and noticing this has happened many times read more

I took my dog here for more 2 years. Not happy with it all. They poke his eye when they cut hair. ( and by the way when you should ask what happened? ) the answer is ( eye were like that when you brought him here) . They clip his nails till his pose bleed and the excuse for that was he did it to himself inside the cage. NEVER AGAIN. Fuck them I hope they go bankrupt. ASSHOLES won't take any responsibility whatsoever....... read more

Was so excited to take my dog here after reading the reviews. Unfortunately the customer service made it that I was unable to. Made an appointment for Sunday at 3PM. Saturday morning they called me to confirm my appointment, then stated I could bring him earlier like 1:30, or 2PM ETC. Perhaps they didn't fill all their slots but I kindly informed them that my day was scheduled perfectly and I would be there at 3PM as booked. Well I made a wrong turn and my GPS stated my arrival time was 3:05. At 3:02 I get a call saying that they have to cancel my appointment because they thought I was coming early. After I reiterated that I clearly said I was keeping my 3PM appointment and was at their establishment, they stated "sorry you are upset." When I reminded them of the 10-minute grace period the receptionist said "you are right but we still have to reschedule." I replied, "so I have to reschedule because your groomer wants to leave early?" Her response: "sorry you are upset, you still have to reschedule." Sorry I'm not going to give my business to a company that doesn't care enough about their clients to respect their appointments. read more

I was really worried about taking my teacup yorkie to be groomed for the first time but all the good reviews about Mary's made me choose this place. I shopped other places and I wasn't impressed. But as soon as I walked in we were both greeted by Mary and felt right at home. My dog had a lot of matts but Mary worked with her and was able to gain her confidence enough to remove them all. When I picked her up she was happy and gorgeous. They really treated her well and had great customer service. She explained everything that went on to me. I will definitely be returning. read more

I've been having my dogs groomed by Marie for several years never had an issue. This time around Christopher happen to be the groomer. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I noticed my dog was walking funny. When I took a look one of paws was pink-raw. My other dog was bleeding. They were both depressed for three days. Unfortunately, I will longer come here. read more

I usually never write any reviews, but today I want to give 5 stars to Marie. My dog had a spinal cord surgery in January, and he still cannot walk with his back legs, has not stability yet. My Charlie didn't get his haircut since December 2018 until now. And I'm so glad that Marie let me stay with Charlie while he was getting his haircut, as I have to help him to stand correctly, make sure he sits properly. Thanks, Marie for her patience, and understanding the situation. Now, my Charlie looks cute and awesome. read more

Marie's high ratings are absolutely deserved! She is a fabulous groomer and always makes my dog Bowie look so cute! After his groom, people compliment him non-stop. Her online booking system makes it easy to schedule appointments and her availability is excellent. Marie and the rest of the staff are very attentive to the customer's needs. They always ask how we would like his hair cut and let us know how he did during the grooming. Even when Bowie had a torn ACL, I trusted Marie to groom him because I knew she would take care to be gentle with his leg while he healed. Hello: I have brought my 2 dogs to Marie's per grooming for a few years, and her services were second to none. That all changed yesterday. when I we brought the dogs home after their grooming. They were extremely thirsty, and hungry. My wife filled up their water bowl 2 times and they drank all the water both times. My wife and I saw that be strange and wondered if they were given any water during their day. They also added a $20.fee for the dogs being matted. They were almost shaved that is how short their hair cuts were. Not sure what that was about. but it was not a pleasant experience this time around. read more

I moved into a new neighborhood and I was looking for a place for my dogs to get groomed. Most people talked about Marie's and so I decided to give them a chance. I am so glad I did! My schnauzer got the best haircut ever! She even took the time to trim extra once I came in to pick him up. Excellent and timely service. We had taken our 9 month old mini golden doodle Sofia to another place out in Greenpoint, Brooklyn twice to get her groomed but we were looking for someone closer to home. My handy dandy Yelp came to the rescue! We were able to book an appointment for the next day! We showed Marie the cut we wanted and she delivered! Sofia's face has never looked cuter. Her body is the lowest it's ever been but that's our fault bc we told her we wanted it low. Marie's place was definitely modern and clean. The reason I'm giving her 4 stars is bc: 1- they took her in and mistaked her for another mini golden doodle and almost cut her right then and there without any type of verification (so scary!) But I guess it could have been an honest mistake since another exact same puppy was coming in at that time. 2- I feel they didn't call me in time so that Sofia wouldn't have to be caged up waiting for me (we hate her being in a cage) 3- We had to trim a few hairs on the tip of her ear and her paw bc it wasn't even. It was pretty obvious too. Other than those reasons which I feel could be easily avoided next time once I let them know, I really like that they have parking available, their prices are great & everyone is super nice! I'm so glad I found Marie! My three year old cavapoo, Reeses, is very shy. In the past, she would come home from her grooming appointment very traumatized. She wouldn't want to play and her behavior in general was noticeably different. After her appointments with Marie, her behavior is quite the opposite. She comes home a happy girl. She loves Marie! Marie does an amazing job and I really do appreciate everything she does for my baby. She takes her time and puts lots of love into grooming each animal. We love Marie! I took my malshi, Maximus, to several different groomers before I found her. Tried NY puppy club twice, Waggers and hated it! Max would come back traumatized and wasn't his active self after. I was desperate to find a go-to groomer and lo and behold, we found Marie! After months of searching online, I saw so many good reviews. We've never been happier. Max always looks handsome after a grooming session and comes back into our arms just the way we left him. She does exactly what we ask her to do and always does it with a smile. We started doing the refresher recently, which is everything but the haircut and it's so convenient. Love, love, love her! Thanks for taking such GREAT care of my Tyson. I was so nervous about having my 3 month old Morkie groomed because he hates baths and getting brushed, but Marie and her husband immediately made Tyson and I feel at ease. The grooming took little longer than expected because he doesn't lake his face trimmed and they took extra time to ensure he got a proper cut. I was so thrilled when I came back to see Tyson hanging on the couch with Marie's husband who was giving him a little extra love after his first groom. My heart melted to see that they genuinely care about his well being. Both of us are looking forward to starting doggy daycare in the near future. read more

We immediately contacted the groomer who right away was denying that this was from them and stated this must have happened after the dog was returned!!!!! They refused to get on the phone with us all we have received are chat gpt generated text messages from them. We requested video footage from the grooming, they stopped answering. 2 days later after not hearing from them at all I requested it again and they were mad that I didn't greet them properly. Can you imagine ? They spoke to me extremely disrespectfully again taking 0 accountability for what had happened to our dog. They they contacted me again to tell me that they received the video footage and that it showed that all went well during the grooming and nothing had occurred, of course they refused to show me that video footage. We have been using a groom go round mobile groomer for 4 years and have never experienced such a thing. Unfortunately our usual groomer broke her leg so wasn't available which resulted in us using someone new. DO NOT USE THESE ANIMALS. Upon pick up, she seemed fine and I was ecstatic that the groomers had given her a bandana for being "such a good girl". The rest of the evening went normal for her. It wasn't until the following morning where I noticed Skai was extremely lethargic. She refused treats, food, and water which is very unusual of her. It turns out she was quite distressed but I couldn't figure out what was wrong. It wasn't until I took off the bandana and her collar and she had winced as I got around to her neck. As she laid down, I finally noticed she'd gotten cut by her armpit and her neck as you can see in the video. What's most concerning is that the groomer did not inform me of the injuries at pick up. I understand that accidents can happen, especially with anxious or squirmy dogs. However, what's unacceptable is the lack of transparency and accountability. I expected to be told immediately, along with an explanation and a plan to address the situation. When I reached out, it upset me that the information under Skai was not accurate. I spoke to Sherry and she asked me what Skai's breed was, I said corgi-mix (we've already been going to them for the past year so how is that information not saved?) and she replied that she was under "beagle" and the service for the day was "deshedding" when it was much more than that. I did receive an apology, but the response felt dry and dismissive. Her response was: "I will yell at my groomers- I'm very upset and will have a team meeting with all of them tomorrow." While that might sound like taking action, it didn't feel professional or reassuring - more like shifting blame than truly taking responsibility. I hope the business takes this feedback seriously and improves how they handle incidents and communicate with clients moving forward.

DONT BRING YOUR PET HERE! So I have absolute, true and factual proof that dogs are being abused here by the groomer "Christopher". If anyone reading this has had a dog come Home traumatized your dog was probably "BEATEN " by Chris! He has killed a dog at a Manhattan groomer and walked out. Groomer stupidly did not file charges ( I do not know the name of this place or what happens after he left there. He worked at a groomer in Astoria and was fired when a customer called police. Again, he walked out. I am currently finding out the name and owners name to get her statement. I have a witness who saw Chris punch a pit bull dog so hard in the face that the dog couldn't stop bleeding. The owner was told the dog was not ready ( for hours) until they could get the bleeding to stop and icing the dogs nose. It's been witnessed that he beats most of the dogs that go in there! One woman's dog dies 2 days later, but she couldn't prove it was from there. I am hoping that she reads this and contacts me. Marie has witnessed this and does absolutely nothing! When he dries the dogs he put the tip on the dryer so that the wind currant is harder and they can dry faster, it is an extremely hard currant, especially for senior dogs as it blows the dog like a hard wind so the dog is choking in the loop around it's neck. As this is not bad enough, he uses TWO driers at the same time! Marie herself has now started doing this to hurry the dogs along out of greed. It has been witnessed that Chris has cut a dog s ear so bad, and used crazy glue to close the wound. The owner never even noticed!!!!! I am currently in contact with animal welfare police to further this case. Let it also be known that this man does not even have a grooming license and Marie knows it. He also may be wanted in his home country for multiple murders, and may even be here illegally. Marie also knows this. I understand this is a lot to take in and sounds fantastic, but this is all true fact. And was eye witnessed. If your dog came home " different" and scared, then you know I'm telling the truth. I brought my 5 years old maltese here yesterday for a summer cut. The place looked clean and new, overall comfortable in my eyes. When I looked around there was only one dog she was working on and I think maybe 2 cages setup so I knew she doesn't over book and have dogs wait in the cages forever. She asked me how I wanted the hair cut, so I told her just short enough for the summer because I decided not to care too much about my dog's hair style due to being disappointed too many times in the past. she also asked how my dog gets along with other dogs and when I told her he's friendly with ppl. and other small dogs, she didn't put him in the cage. Instead, she let him loose on the floor and let him explore the place so he can get adjusted to the environment while he waits for his turn. I got the call from the groomer little less than 2 hours later saying that my dog was ready to be picked up. When I got there my dog was with the owner's dog, out of the cage, waiting for me. When I picked him up he looked clean and happy. I didn't really looked at the hair cut but I noticed his tail hair was nicely brushed out. My husband and I actually talked about how we forgot to tell the groomer she didn't have to work with my dog's tail because it's heavily matted so we figured it'd be shaved. After we brought him home we looked at him closely and he got whiter and looked few years younger. I love the hair cut he got. I've been to few grooming places but this place is the first place my husband and I are satisfied with and the first grooming place I am leaving a review. If i could give 0 stars i would. My poor friend and her poor dog are traumatized because these unprofessional people don't know what deshedding is. Poor husky was SHAVED. which means she cant go outside because she can over heat , the poor husky is unsure how to react and is never going to have the same coat of fur again! ANY DOG GROOMER SHOULD KNOW YOU NEVER SHAVE A HUSKIES FUR!! I hope this place shuts down, they run the risk of harming more dogs When you restrict a dog from going outside the anxiety that forms is incredible. What a disgrace. read more

Called to ask some pertinent questions as I needed an appointment for three dogs. If they could do a dog in 2 hours so the rest of the dogs could come in too. Not helpful and never called back. I suggested one dog a day for three days if she could get them out sooner than 5 hours. My opinion they said they need 5 hours to do a dog, so know your dog will sit in a crate with a blower way longer than needed. Dangerous!!!!! To turn down three dogs by snippy attitude and not calling back, they don't want your business. read more

About 2 weeks ago my son found this dog on the street he was really week and his hair was a completely a mess the first thing we did was take him to petco to see if it had a microchip but it didn't so we decided to keep the dog, we took him to the vet and then to Marie's grooming place literally they did a miracle. Its gonna be a long process since they had to cut his hair really short but the dog looks amazing. Book fast! Marie's not just grooming for the sake of business- she loves dogs and loves what she's doing. Let's face it, it's kind of hard to find people nowadays who are passionate for their jobs.
