Baking up delicious New Haven style pizzas at around 900 degrees is White Pie in Uptown. These oval-shaped pizzas come with plenty of burnination, just the right amount of chewy, and flavors that will make you wanna slap yo' best friend's behind. When you go to White Pie, get the White Pie. It's one of the best white pizzas I've ever had, and I honestly think it could be one of the best pizza recipes in all of the Denver Metro area. Its garlicky flavor, mixed with egg, and just the right amount of cheese and shrooms is truly like manna that fell a few minutes off Colfax. Our server was great. Pizza and salads delish. Stumbled upon this gem on a random Sunday night with a large group of friends (7!). We were looking for a nice, warm place to eat at that we didn't have to wait too long, and luckily, we were able to sit down right away at White Pie! It was such a pleasant surprise as well, as its super cute inside -- warm, cozy, but with some clean modern finishes. I loved that the large pizza oven was the focal point of the restaurant, so you could watch as they were getting baked. The food itself was also reasonably priced and delicious! Would highly recommend going for the sicilian style pizza -- its a thicker crust and more of an in between of a focaccia and regular pizza. Its filling and sooo good. Very Denver in the coolest way possible. The bar is a half circle surrounding the kitchen and a large wood burning oven. So pretty! Pizza makers show their skill just 3' away from you. Cool vibe, I love the layout and feel 5+/5 Structure/crust - they say they're New Haven influenced, I don't get anything near that. If anything it's an East Coast bar pie; cracker thin, crunchy and well sauced. The dough was pretty, I enjoyed watching them carve each ball from the box. They roll out the dough to a 10-12" circle and leave very little crust. This is not New Haven, think Jersey bar pizza. 4/5 Sauce - milled plum tomatoes and some salt? Not bad, fresh...no depth, but I realize that's not where they're showing their stuff. 3/5 Cheese - I chose the mootz, a cheese pie with some basil. Great cheese profile; I think they throw some pecorino on top for a bite. The basil was fresh and aromatic, great add to the flavor profile. I like the cheese here. 4.25/5 *note, their chili oil provided great additional depth to the pizza. Beer was decent, the place started jamming around Happy Hour. I get the sense their fancy pizzas are more exciting - I see this as a great date night spot to try something new. Beautiful location, friendly folks...I'd be back again. The food is a MOUTH-GASM the pizza is creative, delicious, they keep the classics while throwing in seasonal pies because it's how us Coloradans rolls! I've tried 75% of their pizzas and they NEVER disappoint. The happy hour is THREE HOURS- THANK YOU You get me...My people the menu is just right offering seasonal Frose which don't knock it until you try it.... They properly catch up to you. I ordered the cauliflower, a small salad, and a pizza to go tonight. I was told my order would be ready in 25-30 mins and I picked it up in 20 mins. I tried a piece of pizza in the car before driving home and it was already too cold to enjoy. I don't understand how a few bites of cauliflower cost $9 or how this tiny $14 salad is meant to be for 1-2 people. I'm always excited to have a new restaurant in the neighborhood, but when White Pie first opened and I checked it out, I was thrilled. The food was good, and the interior was sexy (great date night place), and I started bringing out of town friends by to show off the Denver scene. In the summer, the small but private patio also made for a good place to grab a happy hour drink with a book or a friend. Since Covid has hit, I've gotten delivery twice, and it's been delightful as well. The package deal is absolutely amazing. It's a totally complete 4-course meal for two, or when I'm alone I can occasionally exercise self control for a few meals. Regardless of how you approach it, I will say the burrata is out of this world, the salads are gigantic, the pizzas are thin, tasty and absent regrets, and I even love the cannoli. (I'm not usually a fan, but these have so much extra going on flavor wise--lemon in particular, that it's hard not to be impressed). I've had a number of the pies and really would recommend them all, but the White Pie is probably my favorite. As someone who isn't usually the biggest meat fan, the 3-meat was also pretty tasty. I will say, despite not being too far away, it usually takes me about an hour for delivery, so I'm trying to target takeout going forward. Given the pizzas are thin, they do cool off quickly, but you can keep them on hold in the oven perfectly at 200 degrees while you enjoy all of that appetizer action! read more

White pie deserves 5 stars right off the bat for being so accommodating by moving my reservation for 9 people up at the last minute to help us out with a scheduling conflict! Once we got there the service was 10/10. Everyone who works their is so friendly and helpful. We've only ordered out from here in the past and I was surprised at how small it was inside (and even more grateful for being able to squeeze us in), but it made it so cozy and quaint in there I loved it. We started out with a round of Limoncello shots and they were soooo good. So good that majority of us ordered the limoncello lemonade as cocktails and again they were delicious! (I will say they could have been a bit bigger though..) For food we did shareable amongst the whole table so we could try a little bit of everything. We started off with the Cesar salad, the lil salad, the brussel sprouts and the narrate. Everything was so fresh and tasty but the Cesar was the star of the show in my opinion. One thing that was super helpful in regards to sharing was that they were able to put things on the side for us (ie.pepperoni so the vegetarians and meat eaters alike could share). We tried the Mootzy, the burrata banger, the Paulie walnuts, the garden pie, the Ricky ricotta and the Spicy G. The Spicy G seemed to be the fan favorite along with the Paulie walnuts (who doesn't love hot honey and/or mashed potatoes on their pizza?!?!) we all left stuffed and beyond satisfied. Dare I say it, but I think the Spicy G (minus the pepperoni) may have been the best slice of pizza I've had in Colorado to date!!! It was also my fiancés birthday and they have him a complimentary drink (I think due to a wrong poor but still so sweet) and we're so accommodating with bringing his favorite dessert with a candle in it! The cherry on top to all of this was that we all ate and drank our faces off and we're shocked by how reasonable the bill was. (One thing to note is that they do add gratuity to the bill. Something we didn't realize until the next day so we accidentally double tipped and even so the bill wasn't outrageous and honestly the staff were so incredible we weren't mad about it!) Me and my prom group went for our senior prom and we coudnt have asked for a better place! As the sun set there was this amazing lighting in the restaurant, the service was amazing- our server (i believe her name was sam) made sure we had everything and more! The pizzas where made in a pizza oven that you where able to see which we thought was super cool, they came out in faster than we had expected and there wasn't one dish that didn't please someone, food 10/10! Our prom group was around 9 people and they had amazing space for us and no one ever felt crowded or squished. We loved this restaurant and can't wait for our next visit! read more

What is with the uncomfortable seating? I liked the food alright, but the service was an afterthought, and the decor is whatever comes next! Shrug. Calling burned pizza New Haven style is a stretch of the imagination. 14 for a protein-less Caesar and 11 for a brownie is some of inflation at its worst. I wish I lived closer so the thin crust would stay crispy for takeout or delivery. Probably the best pizza I have had in Denver. This little shop on Humboldt has such amazing pizza. Top quality ingredients and fantastic taste. The variety of pizzas are also pretty amazing. I tried the pepperoni which had the perfect ratios of everything. It also had the little pepperonis that curl up and create little bowls with the ends charred. We also tried the White Pie which was mushrooms, garlic, bacon, creme fraiche, and an egg on top. This place is amazing. Super thin and light pizza, dim lit atmosphere with the wood fired pizza oven as a showcase. You can sit at the bar and watch it all being made right in front of you. My only critique is maybe the pizza could be a little crispier on the bottom, but it was still delicious and is one of, if not my favorite pizza place in Denver. We decided to bike for pizza because who does not love pizza? The bike ride was worth the end result. The atmosphere is hip - white wash bricks, wood (plants needed water) with indoor and outdoor seating. There was a big fire brick oven so you know a charred Neapolitan style pizza was in the works. We ordered an Asbury Park Sour and a frose - their cocktails do not break the bank (thank you) and are spirit forward (double thank you). So delish. Meatballs are the backbone for all Italian as is sauce so we ordered the meatballs and they did not disappoint. I honestly think they stole my recipe with the exception, I fry mine for a nice crisp outer and then soak in sauce. I am being picky here, but I kind of wish the meatballs and sauce were hotter ... maybe a few minutes in the brick oven? We order the 3 meat pizza and it was a typical New Haven pizza. Thin and crispy crust from edge to middle which I prefer over a typical Neapolitan style pizza and toppings to the crust. My only comment would be less cheese and more of your delicious sauce. This place is good. We came here bc we heard it was a top pizza spot in Denver. We arrived at 11am for lunch and we're the first ones there. We ordered drinks, cauliflower app, Ava Angelini, Mootz, cannoli. I will be honest, we are not only foodies but pizza connoisseurs... this pizza was good but left us feeling like we've had it before. Nothing special about it. We brought home the Mootz leftovers and it tasted better later than it did there. Third time to the White Pie in Denver, Capitol Hill. Since I'm lactose intolerant, the "Fuggetaboutit" pizza fits the bill. I ordered it "well done, super crispy" and ended up with a delicious dinner. Our server was very attentive throughout the entire evening which I very much appreciated as it was not overbearing. Do yourself a favor and get the arancini. Extremely disappointing experience here. I debated whether or not to write this review but this was the 2nd night in a row that we've had a very similarly disappointing experience at another restaurant just a couple blocks away (check my previous review). I lived in New Haven for 5 years and was really excited to bring my girlfriend here and for some of their New Haven-style apizza. We both had to work late yesterday and pulled up White Pie's website to double check their hours. Closes at 10pm, awesome, let's go. We drove 30 minutes from Lakewood to get there, arrived at 9:20pm, and were turned away at the door saying they were closed. I understand it's annoying for restaurants when customers walk in 10-15 minutes before closing, but turning away customers that have come a long way to patronize your establishment OVER HALF AN HOUR before your posted closing time is unacceptably poor hospitality/customer service. They said they sometimes close early on slow nights to let their staff go home early. I'm not begrudging them that, but the problem is the COMMUNICATION. Let's look at the website of a competing highly-rated pizza place in Denver, Pizzeria Lui. Big ol' banner right at the top of the homepage that says "We will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 3pm until 9pm, or until we run out of dough." This properly communicates to the prospective customer that they might close early. Whereas White Pie has no such notice on their website, they apparently run a policy of "maybe sometimes we'll close early but do nothing to communicate this to potential customers who drive over 30+ minutes and then we'll turn them away". The pizza here is good. The white pie is creatively delicious and the mootz is one of the closer renditions of New Haven pizza that I've had this far west - the distinct char paired with bright, tart sauce. However the business side of things and customer communication needs a lot of work. read more

The burratta appetizer was over the top great. They boil the honey with red pepper flakes, but it wasn't spicy. Wow! I had a meatball during happy hour (M - F 3 pm - 6 pm). It was so great! On the search for my new fave pizza place, I ventured here to give it a try. We were able to get seated right away on a Saturday evening. They have indoor seating and some patio seating. We walked over but noticed that it would be street parking. The restaurant was cute with planters hanging from the ceiling and the walls. Lights are dim so definitely a great date night vibe. As I read the menu, it mentioned that the pizza is New Haven style. Hello? Music to my ears. I was so surprised to even think that a restaurant in Denver Colorado would know what Connecticut pizza is all about. Our waitress was super nice. We asked her few questions on the menu and she was answering it very knowledgeable. We decided to order a pizza (duh) - mootz pie but also a pasta dish just so we can see. We got spaghetti and meatballs. Both dishes came out at the same time. We were given small plates to share. The pizza was great. The crust was delicious. Thin, crispy, but still chewy. Yum. The cheese was so good which def makes the pizza. It's stronger than most mozzarellas used in other pizza places but if you love cheese then you'd love it. The spaghetti was made with bucatini noodles which we like thick pasta and the meatballs were amazing!! I had a fave meatball but this may have replaced it. It was tender and melts in your mouth. Throughout our experience - different employees helped us. Kept our drinks full, cleaned up plates, and checked on us. We were impressed by how friendly every single employee was! When we got our bill - they gave us a card for BOGO margaritas next door so pretty awesome. So now we are excited to try the Mexican place especially if it's a sister restaurant. Let's just say it: the vast majority of us love a good piece of pizza and are on the never-ending quest for the perfect piece. Right? So I've had White Pie on my list of places to try for literally a couple of years. Last week I finally ran into the opportunity to meet a friend there for a beer and a slice. And we spent a lot of time talking about the topic you frequently talk about when you try out a new pizza place: how it compares to the best pizza you've had and where those other places are, and when you ate there, and what you had, blah, blah, blah. Nonetheless, it was fun and the pizza was excellent but not mind-blowing. It's thin crusted new style (high oven heat quickly made one-person pizza) and a bit pricey. They do however have the right kind of high-end pizza oven (by the same oven maker that did the one at Cattivela's I think) and their toppings were fresh and creative. Had the arugula, mozzarella, and prosciutto pie, but there was nothing about it that took it to the interstellar level. Now this isn't by any means a criticism or a snarky review. White Pie makes excellent pizza and will be on my list of reliable very good places for pizza (and they have a nice beer list), but I'm still on the same quest we're all on...the seemingly eternal hunt for the perfect piece. Thin crust with so much flavor going on: cheesy and creamy and salty and not overpowered by any one thing (like tomato sauce -- but I'm clearly a white pizza fan). I'm pretty picky about pizza, and I would eat this any day. Our second pizza: the Porky Porkorino (love the name) -- with house red sauce, mozzarella, sopressata, pickled chilis, and hot honey. I've never had pizza with honey on it before, and I can't say I didn't like it! It was almost 1:00 so when we asked to wait they told us they would not reopen until 1:45 for clean up. Loooove this place. Very cozy and beautiful spacious exposed brick space. The only downside is they don't take reservations so we had to wait for like 20 mins before being seated. They have gluten free pizza options and very nice cocktails. Seems like a great place to catch up with a friend. It's not loud so easy to talk.
