Wow, this place is amazing. Part of me doesn't want to write a review because I want this place to remain relatively unknown! But, unselfishly, White Pie is absolutely stellar. These guys from the East Coast, a father and his two sons, have brought the best pizza Denver has seen in the eight years I've lived here. Everything I've ordered so far has been good. And I can't wait to go back and order totally different things the next time. I can't remember the last time I wanted to eat through an entire menu, but I do at White Pie. :) So far I've had the white pie pizza, the porky porkorino pizza, and a simple pepperoni pizza. The meats and cheese are so fresh and high-quality, it makes a huge difference. The crust is charred, crispy, and chewy - perfect in all its imperfection. I have also enjoyed the meatballs, made of pork, veal, and beef. They melt in your mouth. White Pie offers a house lager from Station 26 which is light and refreshing, really a perfect match for all of the pizzas on the menu. This place is taking off, get there soon! read more

I have now been to White Pie three times since it has been open and can say without hesitation that it is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver and easily my favorite Italian spot. The moment I walked in I was immediately impressed with the ambiance. The decor, the volume, the authentic brick pizza oven at which you can see the chefs preparing your food in front of you. I just immediately loved the atmosphere. The service was prompt and the food was absolutely incredible. I am from New Jersey and talking about pizza is one of my favorite hobby horses to start rocking. White Pie's pizza is almost identical to the now world famous Pepe's and Sally's out of New Haven Connecticut. Again, New Jersey and New York pizza is phenomenal, but is second best to the New Haven Kings. That is, until White Pie showed up. I can honestly say that White Pie has done Pepe's and Sally's justice and in some cases, may even exceed them. Also, don't forget to try their bread puff. It rocks. I came in with pretty high expectations; many friends raved about White Pie, but I was very unimpressed. I arrived shortly before happy hour was over, waiting for my friend to park, I was hoping to get a happy hour drink and appetizer order in before it was over at 6pm. I waited 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me, but finally got my happy hour order in 1 minute before 6.. Let's fast forward to entrees; I ordered the White Pie, my friend the gnocchi. White Pie: thumbs down. I read such great things but it was very bland, no flavor, and really not very good at all.. The gnocchi though was TO DIE for. But the portion was absolutely, ridiculously tiny for what you pay for, even though it was so good, I probably won't be back. Our server was not very attentive or seemed like she cared for our business. I wanted to love this place like I generally love the wood- and coal-fired oven pizza places, but I couldn't. It's pretty good but not great. The pizza is similar to the classic Neapolitan style, but the crust is thinner, too thin, in my opinion. Maybe in New Haven they like it that way, but the crust is the key to good pizza and they missed the mark here, even with the nice charring. The cacio e pepe was disappointing--it was drenched in a sour sauce and a very small portion (yes, I know the joke). The pasta itself was fresh and firm. The aperol spritz was tasty. Everything was priced a little high for the quality you get here. There are better Italian restaurants and better pizza places in Denver and you don't have to travel too far. It's not bad food, just not worth all the 5 star reviews it seems to get here. read more

Had the mootz with pepperoni and the white pie... both awesome and delicious! The owners are super nice... great family place. Excellent pizza and meatballs, good drinks (their take on the New York Sour is tops), friendly service and very cool atmosphere. This ended up being more of a splurge than I'd intended--in small part because our server brought us the massive 2-3 person salad rather than the $7 single serving, which is what we'd wanted. To be fair, we could have been clearer, but considering there are three size options on the menu, the waitstaff should be clarifying rather than just assuming. In fact, I heard our server ask the table next to us which size they wanted...did we just look really hungry?! The tables are a little small, particularly if you end up, like us, trying to make room for a pizza, drinks and a salad the size of a printer (seriously, clarify you want the small size!). Still, the food was impressively high quality, and there are about 15 other pizza and pasta dishes I want to try. I can't see making this a regular spot due to the prices, but for the every-now-and-then pizza feast, I'll certainly be back. read more

Overrated. Salty and burnt pizza. Desserts not seasoned properly. Tiramisu tasted like there were cloves or too much nutmeg. Same with cannoli. Couldn't pin it. Went to White Pie for the first time last night and it was amazing! Everything was excellent from ambiance to service to (most importantly) the food! Had the frozen negroni, which was good. For starters, we have the House Puff, Meatballs Al Forno, and the Burrata. All were good, but the burrata was ridiculous and I highly recommend it. We also had the Paulie Walnuts pizza and the gnocchi, both of which were delicious. The Paulie Walnuts has mashed potatoes and bacon on it. You definitely can't go wrong with carbs on carbs! Lastly, the desserts! This is probably the best cannoli I've had in Colorado (which is saying a lot from a New York). The Tiramisu was also delicious, with a slight different flavor than your usual tiramisu (maraschino-cherry-esque). The best part is that the owners' dad is behind the bar, making pizzas, and chattin' up patrons! He is adorable and definitely adds to the overall feel of cozy, casual comfort food! read more

This is one of the best pizzas I've had, hands down. I ordered the white pie and it was outstanding, the crust was perfectly thin with a crispy edge and the toppings were amazing and fresh. The meatballs were also a great appetizer, the sauce on them was fantastic. The service was also very quick and attentive and the staff was very friendly. Very nice ambiance, got a table right away on the patio at 6pm. Service was very prompt, servers quite nice, and they checked on us a lot. Waiter got us in one round of happy hour drinks right at 6, which was nice. Ordered the house puff with hot honey, was not super great and the honey wasn't needed for $2 extra. The Fettuccini with vodka sauce was very good, the Cacio e Pepe, good, but not enough pepper. The white pie was very tasty. the Mootz was fairly standard. I came in during my lunch break and waited 50 min for a pizza and salad. At 30 minutes, the waitress came to double check out order saying "I put it in under the wrong table". At 50 min the waitress said it would be another 10 min. There were only 3 other tables in the entire restaurant and all already had their food. We ended up leaving without our lunch. Arrived a few minutes before my friend to a mostly empty dining room and was instructed that I couldn't be seated until the entire party arrived. There appears to be a bar but it's just bar seats around the wood burning pizza oven which you also cannot sit at while waiting. Ordered a drink from a waiter at the cash register and sat on a bench while I waited for my friend to arrive. I understand the policy about waiting to seat guests until the entire party arrives but exceptions can and should be made when the place is very slow. Also, not a fan that there wasn't bar seating. Once seated, the dining experience was good. I would go again but may have to pull the old I'm dining alone trick to sit down at a 2 seater table and have someone join me by "surprise". read more

I am SO sad to be writing this review as I fell in love with White Pie through covid and have ordered regularly. I have celiac disease and have not had a problem with their gluten free pizzas until last night. Please understand that I know that cross contamination is serious and is a possibility at any non-dedicated gf kitchen, with that being said I got really sick from the gf pizza last night. So if you are a sensitive celiac like me, please use caution here. UGH this pizza is the best I've ever had, I'm heart broken! If you don't have celiac, go go go and eat there!!!! read more

I really wanted to enjoy this place as my dear friend has been raving about it for some time and she has the absolute best palate hands down! Unfortunately, the experience was below the Mendoza line...pizza was solid; fresh ingredients and I would say fair topping ratio. It appeared to run as a well oiled machine that may have simply ran outta oil Sunday night...the hostess was delightful, running around to ensure our request for an outside table was met and even brought us drinks beforehand whilst we wait. Our journey went downhill once we were sat. Ambiance was excellent but it was obvious those around us were not very content with the service. It took a good 20 minutes for anyone to speak to us once we sat. We did receive some service contingent upon our search for our hostess who handled us in the beginning. When our waitress did arrive, she was very polite but appeared to be a bit in over head as she did not write our extensive order down; thus continued the loss of salad, condiments, chaotic disarray of pizzas, etc. The kale Caesar was meh, something a bunny rabbit would have issues gnawing on. The anchovy pizza was cool, very specific with the fish placement if that's something one admires. Pauline walnuts was an interesting concoction, inventive and well put. We created a Margherita with prosciutto medley that was also quite appealing. Overall, food was good, house wine was housey-wine, Asbury park sour was delicious and I wouldn't recommend this place. HOLY WOW! The Roman Gnocchi is so good. I came here for the cacio e pepe because I was having some serious cravings for that delicious cheesy dish, and while that was as good as expected, the roman gnocchi may have forever changed me. It has been three days since I have eaten here and I am still thinking about it. I texted my friends to tell them about it. My boyfriend invited our mutual friend from Arizona to visit specifically so we can eat more of this. Is it possible to get a bucket sized portion of this for me to take a bath in? First visit to this Humboldt restaurant! Definitely a well deserved return visit should be in the offing! Allison was an excellent and attentive menu tour guide. Worked from the lunch menu but they accommodated a Burrata appetizer from the dinner menu! Went for the panini menu and we ordered the Piadina (a prosciutto, soprosetta, strachhinno, arugula, avocado, spicy mayo, and balsamic drizzle) on their puff bread. My wife and I ordered 2 pizzas and wait time was 1 hour. We waited and went to pick up the order. When we got there after waiting the anticipated time for the pizza to be ready we were then told there was 9 people ahead of us and we'd have to wait almost 30 minutes or more. The woman at the counter didn't even apologize: only making the excuse they are behind. Calling the customer and advising them of that would be ideal. Had a really great experience. Jason, our server, was on point. Food was great, Q (Quintin), behind the bar making pizza was super friendly and fun! Loved everything about our time there.
