My first time here or at any White Castle last night! I heard so much about white castle.. was heavily disappointed. I ordered the Veggie Sliders with Jalapeno cheese. It was so bitter - the entire burger. I couldn't figure out what was causing the bitterness in the burger so tried dunking it in the Zesty sauce. Became more bitter and pungent in taste. I don't know if these veggie sliders are originally supposed to be bitter but my first time experience was heavily disappointing. read more

This White Castle is never too busy, even though they are located in a high traffic area. I ordered a Crave Case at like 8am to deliver to a friend out of state and no one gave me the slightest bit of attitude. They probably cursed me out behind my back, lol, but that's the way it should be done. I was very apologetic, but they seemed to genuinely not mind. Thank you to your lovely staff for the patience. OK, so no one really wants to admit that they made the journey to White Castle at 2 in the morning to satisfy that hunger for some burgers. There are probably more satisfying places to get food from, but nothing quite hits he spot like White Castle burgers when you're hungry, sleep deprived and maybe a little, shall we say, intoxicated (don't drink and drive). The food here is exactly what you expect from White Castle. It's greasy and it probably isn't he greatest quality, but you don't expect it to be. You want it that way because that's the most refreshing before you pass out as the sun is about to come up. Some of the dessert items are just good enough to make you want to eat a whole bunch of them. I took one star off because this location sometimes take a while to get your your food and when you venture out of the warmth of the house at 2 am you want your food now! Seriously, its White Castle. You're not going to get filet mignon. You're going to get sliders with cheese or bacon or whatever you want on them and you're going to be happy. There's a reason for going to White Castle and let's say it's not for the quality of the food but for the satisfaction that one gets from eating it. read more

Ash told me to get the 100 x crave crate. I said hell no but was half tempted. Never the less I ate 7 sliders, sweet potato fries, a reg fry, and battering rammed that mess down my throat w/ a Sprite. Holy shit did that meal fuck me up.The worst part is right after I had to see the "book of Mormon" and my stomach gurgled during the whole show. I held down 16 sliders (no fries this time) but was forced into the Piggly Wiggly due to extreme cramping and a need to go. After several Immodiums and a longer than expected stay that to passed. Same as in: the fourth and last time I went to White castle when I ate the above mentioned specialities which caused me to spend a wonderful early New York afternoon locked inside the Wyndham's bathroom wishing i was dead. This is the White Castle that I hit when I come back from the shore. Its' close location in close proximity to I-287 makes it perfect for that. There's nothing that works up my hunger quite like a full day at the beach, and I figure I must burn off a ton of calories in the ocean so that it justifies putting down 140 calorie, 7 grams of fat tiny mystery-meat burgers. No doubt this is the spot for late night eating. The jalapeno burgers has some kick to them and the chicken rings are off the hook! The bad thing is the drive thru wait during late night hours. As everyone before me has said, limit your human interactions after eating. I am saddened by their prices marching upward. When I was younger, White Castle's great appeal was its 30 cent hamburgers when compared to McDonalds' 99 cent burgers, and 3 white castles were more burger than 1 McDonald's cheeseburger. Now, however their hamburgers haven't gotten any bigger, but the prices are now more expensive than McDonald's, and that just seems wrong. The nice part of this place is you don't have to travel to the heart of a ghetto to get your White Castle. The bad part is the turn off from Rt. 1 is quick, and if you don't know exactly where it is you have to break hard to get in here and hope the guy behind you doesn't smash into you before you get your White Castle. WOMAN AT REGISTER WENT INTO BATHROOM TO INSPECT FECES ON WALL...DID NOT CHANGE HER GLOVES AFTER COMING OUT OF BATHROOM. I was waiting inside to get my food, when a woman at the register was telling her coworker that there was feces on the wall of the woman's bathroom and asked her coworker to clean it. I was appalled when she went into the bathroom to check it out, came back out and Told her coworker she couldn't understand how a woman could shoot feces on the wall. She did not change her gloves after coming out of the bathroom and proceeded to handle all of the food. I asked her to change her gloves and she replied that she didn't touch anything. She continued to offer my food to me. Another customer heard and saw what happened and told her...she touched the bathroom door at least twice to get in and out...and demanded a refund. They really made a movie about two guys that want to get to this so badly, they travel all night and order like $50 worth? It isn't even the same type of meat you would find on a burger. It's like steak-um meat. Or something worse. The fries were OK, nothing special. The chicken rings were nothing great either. I have no idea why this place is given such a big following. It's so unhealthy and does not taste very good at all. The service at the drive through was nice enough, that's the only reason this isn't a 1 star. read more

Picked up a couple cases here on NYE. The place was packed. I really enjoy the jalapeno cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, and chicken rings. Employees are very friendly, if a bit flustered when busy. The parking lot isn't bad, getting out of it back to 1 North is a pain sometimes. read more

One of the worst locations ever. Every single time I go here and order they mess it up. Even if it says on the receipt they still mess it up. Absolutely horrible service. Try to avoid this location at all costs. Employees don't listen and/or don't know how to take orders whether you go inside and order or through the drive-thru. Tell them jalapeño cheeseburgers you get regular cheeseburger instead even though it's clearly written on the receipt that it should be jalapeño cheeseburgers. I'm done with this location for good. I hate it when people say I'm not the one to complain... but really I have NEVER complained about food service before in my life. There is a baseline of basic service and professionalism that should be provided at every restaurant , from mom & pop dinners to 5 start steak houses. As a restaurant manager myself I find it completely UNACCEPTABLE and EMBARRASSING when the basics can't even be met. As the drive thru attendant reached out the window to give us our order she dropped one of the bags that contained mozzarella sticks.... no issue with this as it was a simple mistake, I get it shit happens. No harm no foul. My issue is with the response. All the attendant said was "Shit !" then looked at us confused.... and then had then asked "Do you want a new one ?" AS IF IT WAS A F****** inconvenience. I could understand if it was a line wrapped around the restaurant during the middle of a lunch rush, then sure whatever don't worry about it. But it was 3 AM !!!! It was essentially a ghost town. And as far as professionalism goes , I don't think that the GM would be cool with staff blasting music laced with profanity thru the drive thru window.... Like I said I get it , it's late and in this industry you need anything to keep you going.. heck I blast music at work while closing up but in the BACK where guests can't hear. All in all just very disappointed in the fact that this location failed to meet even the minimum service standards. read more

4 unfriendly employees complaining non stop behind the counter. No napkins in the dispenser out in the dining room. Didn't get a receipt. Had to ask for my drink cup. Food was slow. There was one other couple there who had to ask for napkins also. I know it's only White Castle but the 2 other WC's on Route 9 are much better. read more

1st time I went to white castles was in 1992 when I would spend summers with my cousins out in the east coast. I instantly fell in love with this place. I just really loved the small burgers and fries. It truely can be the perfect food at the right time. I don't think they understand English too well. I ordered a combo meal which should have been about $5 but the cashier rung up something for $7. The difference in price wasn't a big deal, but I wanted to make sure I was getting what I ordered. It took three people to ring up a value meal number from their menu with me pointing at it and stating what I wanted. And they screwed up the order of someone I was with who requested sweet potato fries. When she went back to the counter they gave her an attitude as if she was the one who ordered wrong. But all of them are moping around. My friend ordered something and they got it wrong, so he asked for a refund. The lady commenced to yell at my friend telling him that he didn't order that when I clearly heard him. Instead of giving him a refund she continued to yell at her friends. I grew up with 2 white Castles by my house, so i never passed up a good crave run. when i got older, my usual Crave Case of Cheeseburgers, 2XL Vanilla Shakes,1Large Cheese Fries and 2 Large Chicken Rings with Cheese every friday got me through Middle School (The school was Literally right next to a WC) & Highschool. I never had the bubble guts or whatever stigma people put on Castle Burgers, guess that had to do with my body's chemical balance or the love of onions. I know this chain is very popular, but this place really is the pits in every way, even for fast food. In an area teeming with other fast food eateries, anything nearby even mediocre would be a better choice. I only stopped in because of a coupon, and even that isn't enough of an incentive to eat here. 2 weeks ago I ate here, and on my receipt was a number to call for a customer survey, I did that, and wrote down the code they told me. Once I did that I could return for "any 2 free sliders" as printed on the receipt. Today stopped in, ordered 2 chicken sliders, showed the receipt, and was told I could only get 2 free burger sliders. The clerk insisted on that, I told her to read what It says, it clearly says "any", do you know what "any" means? I told her if she can't understand what is printed on the receipt let me speak to a manager. There was some discussing of this issue between a few employees behind the counter, before they finally agreed to what I ordered. After I got my order, I could hear they continued discussing this. I'll give it two stars because during lunch hour(s), this place is jumping, and the food is fresh and fast. However, I work the nightshift, and when I leave my job either at 4 or 6 a.m., my brood is craving "the crave", and it's like this White Castle is a totally different animal during the early a.m. hours. Real castle burgers can only be purchased at none other than White Castle. There's nothing like them anywhere else really (not counting the frozen variety in supermarkets which I tend to avoid). Which can only explain why, after years, yes years, of very poor early a.m. service, and very poor a.m. food quality, is why I would return during "normal" business hours. Avoid this place at all cost during the early morning hours. The crew really doesn't want to service the customer because they're too caught-up in either checking in a supply delivery, or, doing their electronic bookkeeping tasks on those small register units, etc. I've gotten served some pretty old and dried up garbage during those hours than I'd care to mention. The supervisor on duty will actually try to deter you by saying "well, I'll have to do a grill, it'll take a little longer", meaning they'll have to make fresh burgers (Hey, what a concept!!!?? Fresh food!!!! imagine that!!??), and you'll have to wait. It got so bad at one time to the point, I got home (after using the drive through) and called them to report the questionable food, and thankfully, one of their daytime mgrs, a nice guy (obviously really interested in good customer service, and I don't think he's there anymore for that reason), gave us a whole brand new, fresh order when we returned (and then some). I noticed another reviewer said they've found the place locked during the early morning hours, and I'd have to agree. I'd gone to the drive thru speaker, got no response (again, too caught up in other tasks other than servicing the customer), drove around, parked the car, got up to the door, and it's locked. You know, if you're a 24 hr establishment, then be prepared to offer your services 24 hrs; and if not, then close the place up and reopen when you're able to do so. Reporting a complaint on their website, or even speaking to one of their field mgrs (when they call you back) is pointless, because they'll just send you an apology letter with coupons for free burgers; instead of just addressing, and correcting, their issues, of which there are many during the afterhours and early a.m. hours. This place needs their upper mgt to drop in on them during those early hours and see for themselves what goes on, but that'll never happen. I think they already know, and they just can't find a staff willing to stay on with them. read more
