Cute little spot in Shockoe Bottom ! Main st has so many cutie shops to travel to- just stop by here real quick for a coffee before you wander about ! Their prices are fairly cheap & the service is quick for how busy they get ! They have a patio upstairs but I didn't get the time to check it out. The baked goods were yummy & I can't wait to try more !

This was the perfect stop during my day trip in Richmond. The interior is such an awesome vibe. Located in the corner, the interior boasts whites, blacks and wood. Their coffees, lattes and other drinks really are perfect! They are perfectly made and hit the spot. I devoured a sandwich whole there and enjoyed a latte. The bread was fresh, lettuce was crisp and the tomato was ripe. They also have a nice selection of hot tea. There is seating available or you can take your treats to go. Don't pass up Whisk!

Disappointed, don't come here for the chai. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things? Chai latte and the chai is concentrated not real. I got the Richmonder sandwich and it's an overpriced school lunch sandwich. The turkey is off putting and the cheese looks like government cheese. Is that a Richmond thing ? Also pretty cramped seating and not the most comfortable chairs either.

Finding a truly good, buttery croissant is difficult these days, but Whisk has succeeded! Their freshly baked, crunchy, and buttery croissants make it a must-visit breakfast stop for whenever I'm in Richmond area.

Parisian sandwich

Cute little coffee shop and bakery with friendly associates and mediocre sandwiches. I decided to stop in for lunch on a rainy Saturday. There were quite a few people sitting on their computers when I walked in. I opted for a Parisian sandwich: ham and cheese on a baguette with mustard butter. To say the sandwich was underwhelming would be an understatement. The ham and cheese were tasty, but the mustard butter was slathered on the bread and was definitely more butter than mustard. Perhaps most disappointing was the bread, that was soggy and actually stale on the edge where it had been cut, not crunchy like real baguettes should be. I had high hopes that I had found a good French bakery, but I'll keep looking.

I didn't love the pumpkin spice cupcake I got. I tried to interact with the cashier to help find a coffee to use their batch maple syrup in, but he wasn't helpful instead a bit short. I walked away with a drip coffee which was robust, albeit average. My friend got a funfetti cookie sandwich which was super sweet. I wasn't sure if this was the normal proprietor, but he seemed off. For a specialty coffee spot and this more premium prices, I expected more.

A solid choice for some takeout coffee and sweets - the homemade syrups are a nice personalized spin on everything, and the Cinnabun-flavored one made for a great addition to their drip coffee :) we ordered a ham/cheese and a chocolate croissant - sweet and savory for the win! Wish they warmed them - and that there were some more dairy-free options for my partner, but was still pretty delicious! Quick service too - wish there was some more indoor space for seating but overall no significant complaints!

Macarons! Big and amazing. These were some of the best macarons I've ever had. Also got the peanut butter truffles that were delish!

Confetti cookie

Fun little coffee shop!! I came too late in the day for most pastries, but really enjoyed my colorful confetti cookie. The blueberry matcha I had was also creative and delicious. The sandwiches were just okay, not too filled with toppings. But when you're coming to a place like this, that's not the main attraction anyway. I am excited to go back and try a few more coffees, and hopefully the pastries too!

It's convenient but nothing really stands out for my taste. I usually like black coffee or latte and quality is just okay.

House made Pastrami was delicious-go with the 1 lb (buy the pound) Pastrami sandwich -at least 2 if not 3 sandwiches in one. Corned Beef was also tasty and some of the best we've had. Latkas and Dill potato salad hit the spot but the Garlic Dill fries stole the show-one of a kind and not to be missed. For dessert, we saw they had Hamantaschen and got one of each-both very good with rich fruit spread topping. Service was engaged and patient (given our questions and recommendation requests) as our order was being placed. An extensive menu with everything from Beef tongue sandwich (Jewbano) to Chicken Liver as well Hot Dogs and Smoked Salmon and Whitefish. We wanted it all! My wife had the chopped chicken liver appetizer and the potato latke appetizer. The food was very good and the service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely go again. They close at 3 pm and are NOT open for dinner.

We got there on a Sunday morning, the entrance was full but we were eventually helped and put of a 35 minute waiting list. We decided to go for a stroll and check out a couple blocks worth of sites and then got back in our car to decide just what we wanted. I was feeling fancy drink wise and got the mimosa flight and I wanted something simple for brunch so I got the eggs on a biscuit sandwich with open face ham. It was delicious. I wish GERD didn't exist, but it does so I had to limit how much more of the mimosa flight I could drink because acid reflux burns like hell. I also wanted to try the biscuit with gravy so I got a side of it. The biscuit was the most amazing biscuit I've ever tried, they were flaky, moist, doughy, and crumbly all at the same time. My husband got the sweet heat sandwich and it was fantastic. Perfect crunch, and the mix of flavors is perfect. He also got an espresso martini and it was hands down one of the best that I've tried. This would've been a 5 star review had it not been for our server. I didn't hear his name...in fact I could barely hear him. His face was disinterested and his voice was monotoned as if he were doing this as a punishment. He never checked in to see how we were doing, never gave us silverware (the other server who brought us our food got some for us), and another server had to flag him down for us so we could the check. Overall really great food but our waiter kind of ruined it. Wish I could've heard his name...or anything at all.

The hotel is also home to an excellent restaurant that serves a fantastic weekend brunch along with a refined upscale dinner menu, making it worth visiting even if you're not staying overnight. We booked a suite, and it was incredibly spacious, with a full kitchen, separate living room, bedroom, dressing area, and a large bathroom. Although the rooms looked a little dated in the photos, they were much nicer in person. Everything was clean and comfortable, the bed was great, and the room temperature stayed perfect throughout our stay. If you enjoy historic hotels, this one is definitely worth experiencing. The potatoes are a no everyone agreed the potatoes are too seasoned had this unnecessary spice to them and lacks flavor at the same time - we were not fan, another table recommended we not get the potatoes or ask for them to be a more crispy to disguise the spice. Even took it home and crisped it more, long story short the potatoes are not going to be that lightly salted flavor you'd expect, just over seasoned. The sausage gravy tasted great. The biscuit is absolute perfection! (10 out of 10 for Biscuit and Chicken) (3 out of 10 for potatoes) (9 out of 10 for eggs) Unfortunately as far as the Red Velvet waffles they are most likely waffles with red food coloring - tasted nothing like red velvet. (4 out of 10 for the waffles) The French Toast was okay- the strawberry puree was delicious. (3 out of 10 for French toast) The music in here is a vibe loved the selection - kept my group grooving. Not sure if they are always packed but there was a festival going on outside. They squeezed 7 of us at a 6 top booth. It was tight but worked. Also this location is not very spacious keep that in mind. Our server started off pretty good until the end. She was very loud- louder than the music. No discretion- announced the details of a remaining balance of someone in our group , loudly. Left a sour taste in our mouth as this was not the most professional route to inform a guest of something of that nature. Then proceed to give an attitude upon being compensated .. The situation was however de-escalated. Maybe work on delivery of uncomfortable information.
