I happened to pass by this place as I was exploring the neighborhood. I saw their sign advertising their everything croissant and pizza croissant, both which sounded very appealing to me especially the everything croissant because the everything bagel is my favorite. I ordered just the everything croissant and I must say, it was very delicious. By far one of my favorite and best croissants I've ever had. Perfectly flakey with a good distribution of flavor and it had a Chive cream cheese (?) filling that was very savory. Would definitely recommend the everything croissant. After having a nice lunch and vowing to not have dessert my co-worker was determined she was going to get dessert somewhere. So.... we set out on Yelp to find a dessert spot near and this is where we landed. I was like, well if we're in a dessert spot that I HAVEN'T TRIED it is only right that I get something. Right? So i did. An oatmeal cream pie. Then I told myself this thing is a nice size. I am not going to eat it all in one sitting. Then I ate it all in one sitting. So while I am disappointed in myself and I can't pass that on to this restaurant because that oatmeal cream pie was one of the best I've every had and I'll probably do it again. read more

We made Whisk our first stop in Richmond based on the reviews, and it did not disappoint. The space is simple and charming, and I loved being able to see into the area where the pastries are baked. Since it was 90+ degrees out, we didn't try the espresso options and instead opted for iced coffee, which was flavorful and refreshing (and I say this as someone who typically dislikes iced coffee). We tried two of the baked items in the display case: the lemon meringue eclair and the oatmeal sandwich cookie and enjoyed both. I took one star off because I felt the eclair, while visually appealing, was underwhelming in terms of taste and texture. The lemon meringue filling lacked the acidic punch I'm used to from a lemon curd and was on the salty side, and the eclair pastry wasn't as light as I was expecting, though it improved as the pastry got closer to room temperature. The oatmeal sandwich cookie was excellent (quite sweet, but just what you'd expect for this type of treat). I'd definitely return and would recommend it as a stop for anyone looking for a spot to relax and enjoy some tasty coffee or baked treats! read more

I loved everything about this shop being right around the corner and easy for a quick bite to eat or a nice latte! But the only drawback I've experiences is the service. There's one person who I consistently find to be short whenever we go in who works the front of house, and makes me uncomfortable! Missing the southern hospitality charm for sure! If I'm going to be paying upwards of $3.50 for a *delicious* cookie or macaroon I'd like to at least feel like the person isn't being short with me and enjoys their job! Otherwise, great store. We visited Richmond just for the weekend and went here to have a coffee. Atmosphere is great, cozy relaxed and welcoming. We had raspberry macaroons, eclairs, butter and bacon croissants and lattes. And all were so fresh and tasty. Definitely a gem in Richmond. read more

I've been to Whisk a few times before work for iced coffee. Whisk coffee is flavorful and tasty. Customers add their own cream and sugar to iced coffee. Whisk sells baked good and some food items as well. I haven't tried any food/baked items yet (I will soon). If you drink coffee often,Whisk has punch cards for customers. The ambience is very relaxing. The shop is well maintained. Service was polite and fast. It's street parking surrounding the coffee shop. Whisk is a good choice for coffee in Downtown Richmond (convenient). I give Whisk a 3.5 rating. I'll update my review once I try Whisk baked good/food. read more

I am extremely disappointed. I came to whisk for a matcha because I saw all the amazing reviews. I ordered a confetti macaroon and an iced matcha latte. My first sip of the matcha I was disgusted. It tastes very watered down and extremely flat. It also had a very bitter taste - worst drink i've ever had. Then the macaroon was overly sweet and it was very hard. It also had too much food coloring and had a slight chemical taste. Do not go to this place you will definitely waste your money. read more

The desserts at whisk are pretty and tasty no doubt! But as a macaroon fanatic, I went there with the main purpose of enjoying one of their highly praised macaroons. When I say I'm a macaroon fanatic.. I mean it with a highly level of seriousness.. I have a problem. I've tried macaroons from multiple states and countries, including authentic macaroons from France. So getting right to it, Whisks other deserters at every tasty, and their macaroons are a tasty treat as well. However, if your looking for something close to an authentic macaroon, with the slightly crunchy outside that collapses to soft sweet cake like middle joined with a light yet perfectly balanced filling these macaroons aren't quite it. The filling was thick and almost tasted like it had been sliced cold and out between the macaroon shells. The shells themselves were pretty close, the exterior crunch and interior soft texture were great. read more

Definitely try one of their croissants. I got an almond croissant and it was amazing! They don't skimp on the almond filling and then it's smothered with powdered sugar. They're flakey and buttery, everything you ever wanted in a croissant. It's a small cafe with limited seating, but the decor is super cute. The Bottom needed a cute cafe like this! read more

Guys, this place is amazing. They had a demonstration at a local Christmas party and the whiskers were selling. I cannot believe it took me 6 months to actually go to the store itself, but along with the whiskers I grabbed a few truffles. HOLY CRAP.
