Love the diversity of their menu. My favorite recently is the BLT. There is something for everyone and the service is always awesome.

I had sent a DM to the pit master about our visit and placing an order to pick up. Unfortunately they didn't have brisket at the time of our visit but everything else we got was wonderfully delicious. We picked up the Texas Trinity w/Ribs, sausage & pork belly burnt ends with 2 sides. Every thing was delicious but the ribs were the star of the plate. Thank you Smoak Town BBQ for cooking delicious food. They are currently located at a food park but will be moving into a brick and mortar.

The brisket was tender, flavorful, and had that perfect smoke ring and bark you hope for in Texas barbecue. The beans were hearty and had shredded meat in them -- they were good, just a little spicier than my usual style. The mac & cheese was awesome -- creamy, cheesy, and the perfect comfort side. The barbecue sauce was spot-on too ~ rich, tangy, and full of flavor. The outdoor setup adds to the experience ~ picnic tables under a covered area, stacks of wood, and that unmistakable BBQ aroma in the air. It's got that laid-back, small-town Texas charm where everyone's just enjoying good food and good company. The lady who took our order was so sweet and welcoming -- a true example of Southern hospitality. She made the experience even better! The line wasn't long, and we didn't have to wait too long for our food -- a big plus on a busy day. They also have banana bread pudding, which I didn't get to try this time, but it's on my list for next visit. Overall, Smoak Town BBQ is a solid spot that earns its Texas Monthly Top 50 recognition. Great food, friendly service, and an authentic Texas BBQ vibe. I only give HONEST and TRUE Reviews from the Heart. Thank you for taking the time to read it & react to it.

Earlier that same day, I was informed by a staff member that the pizza department closed at 8:00 PM. Based on that information, we arrived at approximately 7:40 PM to order a pizza. When we approached the counter, the young lady working there told us they were closed. There was no greeting or explanation offered initially. I explained that I had been told the department closed at 8:00 PM. She responded that they closed at 7:45 PM. Since it was still before that time, I asked to speak with the manager. The night manager, Graham, came over. Unfortunately, his demeanor was unwelcoming and dismissive. He stated that they stop taking orders at 7:45 PM. By the time he spoke with us, it may have been around 7:42 PM, but we were already at the counter before that time. No attempt was made to accommodate us or to clarify the discrepancy in closing times. Instead, the interaction felt rushed and unfriendly. My frustration is not just about the pizza, but about: * Inconsistent information given to customers * Poor communication * Lack of basic customer service and courtesy from management If the pizza department stops taking orders earlier than the posted or communicated closing time, that should be clearly stated and consistently enforced. More importantly, customers should be treated with respect and professionalism. I plan to follow up directly with the store manager, as I believe this experience does not reflect the level of service Fresh by Brookshire's should stand for.

We sat down at our table at Red Dirt Social to visit for 10 minutes - and the manager (or owner maybe?) commented how his space was built just for this reason - to relax and enjoy time. We never felt rushed, or felt like they wanted our table. That was refreshing! The space is lovely - truly! It was bright, open, minimal decor and it all worked beautifully together. Someone out real thought into decorating this space for people to gather and relax, and it showed. I ordered the pats (oatmeal) with fresh fruit and it was perfect! All the fruit blended well together for my oatmeal. I enjoyed every bite. I cannot wait to bring my husband back to see how much Fate has grown and to eat here once more. It's worth it!

We came here before one of the famous Texas cold fronts... Its an order at counter places, which isn't always my favorite. You lose some personal connection but we were greeted when we got here, when we ordered it felt so friendly... they honesty made up for it. We ordered a bucket (cupcake brand) of mimosas. Chicken and waffles sliders. Breakfast panini and i wanted something sweet and we ordered the donut hole casserole. Honestly I cant find the words right now... but absolutely delish!! Only thing we would not order the donut casserole not because its not fantastic it is. But the waffle fries had some kind of sweetness in the batter so it satisfied my sweet tooth. The chicken was so well cooked! We ultimately turned it into knife and fork because it fell apart but who cares. The panini ... eggs so soft and moist. The sausage is links which normally I dont prefer vs a patty but so juicy. Honestly the combo of them was perfect. We were both so happy. Please go. Go now.

We were out this way (45 minutes from home) to pick up an order from a favorite boutique who just moved down the road. My 10yo and 8yo were going to DIE if I didn't feed them pizza immediately. The pizza is cooked on an open fire and has some of the freshest tasting ingredients this Mama has had in pizza in a long time. Every pie is offered in a "personal" size, but even the small salad was enough for two meals! If you need further proof, my autistic child ate his ENTIRE kids cheese pizza without a single complaint. And that critique is aimed more at the flavors, the cook on all of our pizzas was perfect, the flavors just left a bit to be desired (especially the Margherita pizza.) One star off for this. The hostess was extremely nice, but our server was pretty timid and quiet so he was very hard to understand. He also seemed to be very forgetful, we asked him a couple questions about the menu that he didn't have answers for, refills were scarce, and he forgot to bring us plates. I do think he was new, so no stars off for this, just some notes to improve on! Finally the ambiance of this place was okay, but it was SO loud that we could hardly hear each other speak. I'm not sure if the building needs some acoustic treatment or if the seating is just crammed in too closely. Add this to fact that the manager did not want to open the top floor and would rather have people waiting (why not utilize all the space you have?) My only guess is that they didn't want to have more to clean up at the end of the day but it just seems... lazy. One star off for these two things together. It's fine, it's just not great, especially at the price.
