When I got back home ready to eat my food, the order was wrong. I double-checked my receipt and the order put in looks correct, but the kitchen made entirely the wrong item. Food was prepared sloppy, thrown together. The strawberry shortcake was served literally frozen solid. The chicken was disgusting and chewy, the veggies were wilted. The entire meal was a total waste of money. The teenagers who were working need major training in customer service, half the time they are all congregating in the back while NOBODY is at the front counter and customers have to stand there waiting for someone to appear. When it's been a long day and you need a place to eat, McAlister's is just the place. Ambiance is chill and inviting. Slightly dirty, but after all it is a restaurant with many people coming in and out every day. The people working here are usually pretty decently nice and polite. At another location, the service was awful (including an instance with them yelling at us to leave the second we come in because they didn't want to work anymore) but that isn't the location I am reviewing. Lastly, the food was decent, and left me with a full stomach. However, I believe the real greatness of this deli are the drinks. The famous sweet tea and lemonade are my go-to's for here. These drinks hardly ever let me down. All in all, great ambiance, great service, and decent food. read more

I love McAlister's and eat at the location close to home often. I'm in Rowlett tonight, so I stopped by this location. It smells dirty. It is dirty. Vacant tables are filthy with old food sitting on them. Employees who seem tired and irritated. The lids at the drink station are scattered all over and there is something sticky on the counter top. There is a box to advertise something about McAlister's kids, but it's empty...so it just looks out of place. The young girls and guy working seem to be friends, but no one seems to be doing much work. No one was at the counter when I walked in and the girl who came out to help me had a jacket sloppily hanging halfway off. The food was still good, but the staff and cleanliness of the restaurant need work! I think I'll stick to the Wylie location in the future. We come to McAlisters all the time. I'm not sure I can come back. They decide at dinner time, hours before closing to scrub the floors. They put water all over to where it is a safety hazard. The girl who is cleaning the floor decides to squeegee the floors to get rid of the dirty water and then puts the mats back. She then walks right past the sink messes with her hair walks right to my waiting food and then picks them up and brings them to me with her hands all over every thing. They used to have the best manager. I'm not sure what happened to him, but they need to bring him back. read more

I love this place. It's my go to for salads. They make a couple of really great salads. The grilled chicken salad is my favorite with chipotle ranch. The Southwest Chicken and Avocado is my 2nd choice. It's so hard to find good salads out there. Too often they just throw in some lettuce and a few scrawny tomatoes and call it done(not a salad). Enjoyed a light lunch at McAlister's Deli today. The restaurant is clean and food came out super fast. I ordered the McAlister's Club sandwich. You get 4 of these thick chunks of layered sandwich, complete with meats/cheese/spring greens/tomato and honey mustard and mayo. The mustard gives it a nice flavor. You can get a side and a pickle spear with it. The pickles are not sour and have a great texture and crunch to them. I got the bbq spud chips and they are kettle cooked bbq chips. Their tea has a nice flavor and strength, not all overly water down. It's a good place to swing In for a quiet, light lunch. I am here on a Monday at 11:30 am. I'm a big fan of good food and good atmosphere and McAlister's has never failed me. I placed my order and received my meal in less than 10 mins. I ordered the Southwest Cobb Sandwich and salad and it was absolutely delicious. And I love that their menu features half options for people with smaller appetites. The food is wonderful, atmosphere quaint, and their variety of teas is to die for; but what really keeps me coming back for more is their rewards program. I am a big sucker for rewards and free things. McAlister's new app makes their whole experience ten times better. You can order your food on the go and the more you use the app the more rewards you'll receive. You even get a free tea just for joining. I will definitely be coming back! My family and I love McAlister's. The food is always fresh and hot. I love the ham and cheese toastie and often my husband and I will go in for the Giant Spuds...so delicious! They have the best iced tea whether you like sweet or unsweet - it's the best around! The only issue we ever have is when we order take out. Without fail, they also forget something whether it is a sandwich or a side. It is highly important that orders are checked and double checked especially when the order is leaving the store. It takes a few seconds to double check an order but it makes a lasting impression on a customer. We always check the bag but have gotten to the point of no longer ordering take out from McAlister's because of the issue. We would order take out more often if they could get it together. read more

I got a bacon spud (my personal favorite at the place) and also ordered a chicken salad sandwich for someone else. When I got to the restaurant the food was ready. I hate calling in and arriving and the food's not ready. What's the point of calling in then? Didn't have that problem here. I devoured that bacon spud. It smelled so good that after I put it in the trash my dog dug it out when I wasn't in the room and ate the skin. He is 8 years old and that's the first time I've ever seen him dig in the trash can for something. The people seemed really nice, though I only talked to one person specifically. The prices are great considering the quality of the food. I've also heard the tea is to die for, but I'm not a tea drinker. Being a vegetarian, it's hard to find a really good meal at a fast food restaurant other than salad. McAlister's has a vegetarian chili that is really good. I can stop there while I'm out on a cold day, and get warmed up quickly with a hearty chili. read more

Love the chicken dumpling and potato soups! The salads I've gotten have not been a disappointment and very filling. Kids meals are a good proportion, however sometimes the fruit cup I've gotten has not always been fresh fruit! Marshmallow rice krispy is delicious and huge. This is our closest McAlisters so we always come to this one..but every time we do they always mess up our order or they don't get the order right. My bf and I usually always get the same order and sometimes one of ours is always different than the other (size and toppings when we order it exactly the same), I'm not one to really care but it's just this place almost every time with our orders being messed up. read more
