I'm on the fence about this one. I love the look of the place. It looks like a fun place to hang out. It has a small patio that's covered. It doesn't have tons of seating but does have an upstairs loft with tables. I'm guessing they use that when busy. When we went, it definitely wasn't busy. It was just a weeknight. Service was ok. She didn't tell us any of the specials they had but that's ok. We ordered a small Caesar salad and a couple of pizzas. He got the Standard and I got the OG Pepperoni. I actually liked his better, it had a great flavor. My pepperoni pizza had some kind of a sweet taste to it that I couldn't pinpoint and very little sauce. He thought maybe it was the cheese but both pizzas had the same cheeses on them. The crust was delicious though. Definitely the star. So, all in all, I wasn't blown away but I'll likely try it again sometime.

This place is legit. We didn't know this spot existed until today. We will definitely be back. The food is great. The pizza toppings are super fresh. They have multiple TVs to catch college football games. They could use maybe a few more beer options, but thats me being picky. Definitely give this place a try.

Good food, great service and the vibe was very nice. Alot of space where you wont feel crowded. Outside, upstairs and ground floor areas. Heaters available outside. Pizza was good. Had one with meatballs (just pieces, not cut in half but maybe in quarters, the pepperoni kinda tasted like turkey pepperoni. The spice on it was good. The SALAD was awesome with the goat cheese and the peppers. Got the pepperoni rolls to bring home. They must dice the pepperoni up. It tasted good but was not what i expected. Drinks from the bar were great. They are still new, so i will go again.

This is a carefully worded review of the food via a take out order. The joint seems like a fun place to dine-in, and we love supporting local businesses. I did an online order of 3 pizzas, 2 orders of wings and a salad, over $108, including tip. Took the pies home and noted that they are somewhat smaller than your typical pizza. We like a crunchy crust, which none of them had. The flavors were good, but they could have used another minute in the oven. The wings were tasty but not crispy (they almost seemed to be baked, not fried), as if they needed a bit more time in the oil. Guys, thank you for the quick service times, but I would gladly wait a little longer for great food. The salad was tasty. We'll have to come in for a sit-down and try this again.

Not wood fired, wood burnt to shit!! Need to fire the pizza cook not the pizza.

Absolutely Terrible Experience Tonight's visit was incredibly disappointing. I love wood-fired pizza, but what I got was completely burnt crust--straight-up trash. It's obvious there's no quality control or care in the cooking process. Easily the worst pizza I've had in the last 10 years. The issues started right from the moment we walked in. The hostess gave us attitude when we asked for a booth, even though there were at least three open. She made it seem like we should just accept whatever seat she offered. After standing around for a few minutes (despite the place being relatively empty), we were finally sat in a booth. It was clean and nice inside. When our pizza arrived, the waitress asked if we'd like fresh cheese on top. We said yes, but it took her about 10 minutes to bring it out--by the time she showed up, half the pizza was already gone. To top it all off, as we were heading to our truck, some drunk person in the parking lot started banging on the side of the truck, trying to get in. I think they were confused and thought it was their vehicle, but it scared the hell out of my kids. This place was a disaster from start to finish. I won't be coming back.

Menu

Where to start? Parking lot looked full but we were greeted and seated very quickly. We chose to eat at the bar. It's more fun there! Lucas (bartender, waiter, social butterfly) has been in the pizza/bartending profession long enough to make conversation fun! He was awesome. Service could not have been better. We had the supreme pizza and drinks. Pizza was so much tastier than we've had anywhere else locally. Ingredients were fresh, crust was perfect. Prices were reasonable. NO sticker shock! Atmosphere was modern casual. Very inviting. Highly recommend. Already looking forward to a return.

The Bianca is very flavorful and was surprisingly bold!

This place was a great find!! The pizza was delicious and a great variety to choose from too! We are lucky we got there when we did, because it filled up quickly! I can't wait to go in the summer when we can sit outside as well.

Service was slow. The pizza crust was so flimsy you had to eat it with a fork...crust was not cooked enough.

The staff is always friendly and pleasant, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working here. There are plenty of seating options: a cozy bar area, three separate dining rooms, a large patio with its own bar, and even picnic tables out back. I think the upstairs may be reserved for private events. Every time I visit, I end up ordering the same thing because it's just that good--the Naked Chicken three-piece. Absolutely delicious! I'm also glad they now offer two sides with your entrée for a small extra charge. The mac & cheese and green beans are both amazing. I've tried a cocktail or two, but usually skip them since the portions are small for the price. Overall, this is such a fun, charming spot with consistently great food. Definitely one of my go-to favorites! Add it to the Love List

Brick and Bones Backyard is a blue house on the corner of Main St. in Rowlett, Tx, that has been transformed into something magical. This Mexican-Inspired "chicken shop" is offering fried & rotisserie chicken, classic cocktails, and live music in a rustic setting. The menu is diverse and offering all things chicken that is brined 24 hours, fried and can be order breaded or naked( for the gluten-free in you). They also have rotisserie chicken, tenders, sandwiches, salads, bowls and wings, along with unique sides. Poblano mashed potatoes, habanero mac n cheese, mexican corn, etc... often garnished with fresh radish and cilantro around out the menu, with top notch service to boot. Mi marido ordered the breaded fried chicken, mexican corn and poblano mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was well seasoned with a great crunch. The potatoes had good flavor, but were barely warm. I can imagine their greatness heated. The mexican corn on the other hand was the real elote deal! The fresh snap of sweet corn, dosed with cotija cheese and spices lives up to the hype! Sweet, spicy, savory, it hit all the flavor profiles. I had the naked chicken with an order crinkle fries(faves) which was greatly appreciated for it's gluten-freeness and flavor. However, it was abit overcooked. Which left it thready and a little dry. The sauce that accompanied it, was needed, but shouldn't have been, while the fries were fresh, but undercooked. The concept and flavors make Brick & Bone standout on the chicken front. Better execution can make it a cut above the rest. Check It Out!

Both the Tavern and Tycoon are in Flower Mound, and I have not visited, but I have made stops at both Jane and now Volstead. And I have to say, I wanted to be impressed, and I just wasn't. When I went to Jane, the cocktails were not up to snuff. My visit to Volstead, the cocktail was fantastic but the ambiance and food disappointed. I came into Volstead to check out the happy hour. They have a discount on wine, and half off their signature cocktails and martinis. They make craft cocktails, which were impressive, but only have one bartender. It takes time, but they could use another. I ordered a Volstead Vesper. It is a bold martini. Josh made it well. It was well balanced. Boozy yet balanced. And I love a lemon curl. A garnish can really elevate a cocktail. Five stars for the drink. I will come back and order another one. I also ordered their spicy tuna crispy rice. It was rather a disappointment. The serving size was generous, the crunch on the rice was there, and then it fell short. The texture of the rice was on the mushier side. The tuna was NOT spicy. It had been dressed in something, but it brought absolutely NO flavor or anything to the tuna. There was a wasabi cream and a sauce (maybe eel sauce) that dressed the plate, but the tuna was bland. A little soy, citrus, yuzu, sriracha or SOMETHING to elevate and brighten the tuna would have been EVERYTHING. So it just ended up being bland tuna, on undressed avocado, on fried mushy rice with some tasty sauces. It absolutely was not spicy. And with a little something something it could have been rather tasty. Even with mushy rice. When I walked in and sat down, there was no music playing so you were just hearing conversations bouncing off the walls. After about a half hour someone decided they needed some tunes, but then it was too loud and it was hard to hear the bar tenders. The ambiance was great. I loved the decor, and again, my cocktail was really rather good. The overall feel just felt kind of sloppy. It could have been awesome, and fell short. They claim to have Southlakes best burger, and maybe that is a better choice than the tuna. I may give it a shot. It got rather popular as I was leaving, the crowd a bit more mature. And maybe that is their bag. They have great reviews and high stars, I just didn't feel it.

We had reservations but there was no major crowd at 5:30. The place is contemporary, white tiles, brass finishes. Fully stocked bar. Nice big windows. Started with a Rail District cocktail that was really good. Finished with a Last Word which had a strong licorice flavor (not my fav) but the cherry at the bottom was great! We split the SPREADABLE WHIPPED LEMON BASIL GOAT CHEESE. Loved this. But note to the Chef or food prep - the toast crackers had so many holes in the bread, there was NO surface for the spreadable. Pieces of toast were basically outer crust and the inner area of bread had 90% giant holes. It was comical. Whoever plated this should have been more selective. My wife had the Salmon and I had the steak. The steak had a large pad of delicious blue cheese and butter on top of it, that slowly melted over the steak and potatoes. That was special. We took my dad to dinner and he complained that it was a little loud, but felt like we sat right under a speaker. I explained to him that it was part of the "vibe". Other than the volume making it difficult to hear, everything was fantastic. We probably could have asked to sit on the heated patio. The chips were warm and fresh and came with both red and green salsa, and both were super tasty. My husband asked if I could make salsa like that at home! We ordered drinks and they came quickly. I appreciated the quality of the drinks especially since we mostly ordered from their drink menu. We ordered "The Good Guac" to start and our server made sure that it wasn't too spicy or anything for my dad. I thought that was very thoughtful that she asked if how it came was ok. For food we ordered street tacos, Baja fish tacos and the parillada en fuego. The food runner seemed confused and brought us another dish (maybe the Verde molcajete) but with the loud music the message that we didn't order it was lost in translation. My husband thought maybe it was what he ordered and started in. Because our server came to check on us so quickly, she caught the mistake right away. She apologized profusely and said they were bringing what we ordered. They allowed us to keep the dish, and no sooner did we have a few bites of the deliciousness the correct food came out. They checked on us quickly, apologized profusely, brought the correct food immediately, let us keep the other food, sent another manager to apologize and finally followed up with coupons to return after making sure we were satisfied with how they handled it. I understand humans make mistakes, so I feel like the recovery or response is what is important. This is the type of amazing service that will keep us coming back. We were actually happy with the mistake as we were able to try another dish we likely wouldn't have ordered (but ended up being our favorite thing to eat). The ambiance was fun, parking was easy, the wait was reasonable, the service was FANTASTIC, the food was delicious and food/drinks were made with quality ingredients. We'll be back!
