Delicious!! Rustic ambiance. Friendly service. Outstanding fresh food! Downtown Westboro very convenient location.

Very solid Korean spot. I wasn't expecting much for a place in the suburbs, but I'll admit that it was pretty good. That being said, I don't think this restaurant could compete with most of the Korean restaurants in the Allston neighborhood of Boston. The quality/flavor profile was a step below, but still solid. The restaurant was pretty casual and the decor was simple. Our waitress was really kind and gave good recommendations. It was my friend's birthday, so I requested a dessert. They didn't have anything available but the waitress somehow pulled a little something together, which was much appreciated! Good spot if you're looking for something lowkey.

I've had the experience of family cooking and a warming grandmother doting over me at this place. If you've never had Korean food, nor had the atmosphere. I'd say stop by to experience that! It has all the basic dishes, brought out to the lovely grandmothers that will clean veggies and watch Korean dramas in front of you, and you'll feel like a kid growing up again. Service was top notch! Food aside, phenomenal, hot, and certainly filling to the point where the two times I've been here; all led to me taking home more food haha 5/5 would come back with friends and family :)

Our favorite Korean restaurant in the area closed in the past year, so we decided to give this restaurant a try despite the dilapidated exterior. This appears to be an authentic Korean spot, run by a hard working family, and the type of local business I love to support. First impressions were not great. It appeared their beer refrigerator malfunctioned, so beer bottles were out on dining tables near entrance. Water was served in plastic cups, and while the water tasted fine, the cups smelled strongly of dish detergent, which was off putting. We were also not offered refills of our water as our server was doing double duty filling and sealing dumplings while we dined. The banchan, including kimchi, a soy/sesame cabbage, a mayonnaise slaw, and vinegary smashed cucumber were okay, but nothing that I felt compelled to request more of. The Spicy Pork Belly was a generous stir fry portion, with most of the spice coming from jalapeño (or another green chili pepper variety) in a nondescript brown sauce. Certain pork pieces could have been thinner, or rendered longer, as they were chewy, but others were thin and tender and quite good. There was a nice mix of veggies as well, including peppers, onion, carrot, celery and broccoli. Perhaps I'll get a craving for kimchi jigae as the weather cools and give them another try, but this first experience didn't leave me eager to return.

Honestly, if I were in NJ or NYC, this place would probably be 3 stars. However, I'm in the vast wasteland of the suburbs of MA, where usually there are no Korean restaurants to even be seen, so I have to be fair. We came here for lunch on a Thursday. The restaurant was empty and service was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered jajangmyun, galbitang, and tangsuyuk because my Korean boyfriend was so excited to have Korean food for the first time since moving to MA. The side dishes were okay, nothing to write home about. The galbitang was honestly pretty good, though not the best I've had. The jajangmyun was on the sweeter side and my boyfriend did not think it was very authentic, but I thought it was okay. When we saw/tasted the sauce for the tangsuyuk even I knew something was off, and my boyfriend was disappointed. The sauce was much redder than it is supposed to be, and had a very tangy sweetness and flavor to it kind of reminiscent of the orange sauce you get sometimes at Chinese takeout places. I asked my boyfriend if he thought that maybe the food here is different because of regional differences in Korea, but it seemed unlikely. I have to emphasize that nothing here tasted bad, but we would have had a better time if we had never had Korean food before.

Ojingu bokkeum, stir fry squid

Came here because they're open late on our way to Maine and needed to have dinner. It's an unassuming place, small, family owned, 2 Korean ladies working. Nothing fancy about the interior. Service was friendly to our group. Food was good, I've had better Korean somewhere else but this place hit the spot. The ojingu bokkeum, "stir fry squid" was hot and spicy, my personal favorite, not enough squid tho. Gobdol was good, japchae was delicious, galbi was overly sweet and the galbitang was plain. Banchans were okay, I've had better, kimchi wasn't spicy. Price were cheap. I'll definitely try something else again. Definitely not the best Korean compared to other places.

Great food, quick and friendly service! Enjoyed my selection of traditional (I think Korean)

Korean stew with Miso broth

Amazing dinner at Westborough Korean! Started off with the spicy rice cakes which were covered in a sweet and spicy sauce and served alongside vegetables. Appreciated the complimentary Banchan. Mains were Korean stew one with spicy miso broth that had the umami flavor I was craving but was light on fillings. Other was a noodle and seafood soup which was filled with perfectly cooked noodles, assorted seafood, and vegetables. Service was exceptional, they went above and beyond and created a makeshift birthday cake and candle for one of our guests despite not having desserts available. Looks like a cozy casual house, easy street parking in the downtown.

Came in for lunch, and it will probably be my last time. Another disappointing experience. Service hasn't improved... not friendly (both servers) Food was just blahhhhh... Slow service even though there were just 3-4 tables. Ordered a kimchi pancake and it was greasy and soggy. Not spicy at all. It tasted more like they mixed the kimchi juicy with the batter so to give the flavor. But the napa cabbage tasted just bland. The tofu soup stew was below ok. I found some cooked water crest, bean sprouts, tofu cubes, some thin sliced daikon radish. It's like leftover veggies put together!!! Would not recommend this restaurant to a friend...

Tofu and seafood miso stew and beef bulgogi. Amazing. I can't wait to go back. The broth was so delicious. I keep dreaming about it

We got the tofu and seafood miso stew and beef bulgogi. I can't stop thinking about the broth. It was amazing. Can't wait to go back. I do miss the lunch boxes though

Came here with my Mom. Everything was simply delicious. The banchan is beyond generous in terms of variety and everything we had was great.

Does this restaurant have vegetarian options?

I'm about 70-80% sure yes. Even the sides that come with meals like 7 or so of them are vegetarian and interesting. So I know I could make a meal on that in a vegetarian configuration :)

Approachable menu with as much fusion as authentic Korean. -- Chicken Wings: Jumbo wings with extra crispness and an inner texture varying between sufficiently moist and gushingly juicy, depending on the piece. Always liked them, and I tried twice more recently with similar positive results. Excellent flavor in both the Soy Garlic and the Sweet and Spicy Gochujang. Superb, and with no price hikes in at least five years, now an excellent value too. -- Kimchi Pancake: Crispy on the edges and fluffier inside, with kimchi adding some crunch and nice flavor to go with the starch. Thin dark sauce to complement it. I think of it as a Korean cross between scallion pancake and egg foo yong. Good for sharing. -- Seafood Jampong: A large bowl of seafood stew with a red broth that has some creaminess as well as spice. Nice texture and chock full of large mussels, scallops, shrimp (gigantic Gulf shrimp as well as baby shrimp), Asian squid, and noodles. The squid was a little chewy, but everything else was cooked beautifully. This dish satisfied both in the restaurant and as leftovers the next day. This is a nice antidote to what way TOO MANY "Asian" restaurants are like in the greater Boston…read morearea: slick, prettified and exoticized decor, inflated pricing and mediocre, bland and generally dumbed-down tourist food. This place is none of those things---the interior is simple and dare I say, well worn. But that's the whole point, you feel like you're in an authentic immigrant family restaurant, which it appears to be---a very very sweet and kind lady seems to be the only server in this place (we went on a weeknight, so maybe on a Friday/Sat/Sun it's more crowded and there are more staff) and her husband mans the cash register by the door. Old school! Food is solid and authentic, and refreshingly gimmick-free. What you see is what you get. Shockingly, the prices are about the same as in the Korean places in the food court at H-Mart down the road in Burlington...but you get more and better quality food! And they don't appear to have an alcohol license, which is kind of a good thing because they don't try to upsell you with their drink menu, which in Asian restaurants tend to be pretty lousy mass-market water-beers (sometimes just with Asian labels on similar swill) at craft-beer prices anyhow. Bimbibap was quite unique: rice was served on a separate bowl, while the actual main bowl was full of veggies and meat and egg. Very nice contrast to most places' bimbibap being 80% rice and 20% veggies/meat. Came with a small side of miso soup. UPDATE, one week later: Came back to try out the Korean BBQ. For 3 people, we ordered 3 of the BBQ menu items, came out to a reasonable $100 or so before tip since we just had the complimentary toasted brown rice tea (hyeonmi-cha) and ice water. It was just the right amount of food for an evening meal (more voractious eaters would probably want an additional 1-2 dishes) and the lady came to our table to cook the food for us, ensuring that nothing would be overcooked. The short rib was easily the best, followed by the bulgogi, and the squid with pork belly and veggies was pretty good not great (it was interestingly cooked over the open flame on a square of aluminum foil). Everything was perfectly marinated, tender and juicy. Ventilation was good, so our clothes did not reek of roasted meat afterwards---some places have weak fans, this one did not. Service was again impeccable, gracious and speedy...very nice warm vibes, not cold or perfunctory like some places. Will definitely be coming back for more!
