This isn't a fancy sit down restaurant. They do have a few tables. The gentleman that took my order was very friendly and helpful. They have a lot of lunch options and different combination plates. The lunch options are under $10. They include soup or a soda. Pork Fried Rice or White Rice. Choice of an appetizer and an entrée. A great value for the money. I got the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Pork Fried Rice, an Egg Roll and Hot and Sour Soup for less money than fast food restaurants. The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce was absolutely delicious, and I'm extremely picky on this dish. It had four jumbo Shrimp in a delicious sauce. The Pork Fried Rice was light in color, strong in flavor. It was delicious! The Egg Roll had a nice combination of celery, pork, cabbage and the right seasonings. It passed my no duck sauce needed taste. The flavors were great. I tried the duck sauce, although it looked like, it had that great New England apple flavor. The only item I wasn't a huge fan of was their Hot and Sour soup. Best Chinese food in Hudson. Always consistent in quality , generous portions, and very tasty.

Ordered food from this restaurant before and it was pretty good, but this last time it was terrible. Ordered chicken chow mein, chicken pieces were few and far between, with broccoli and was more of a veggi dish. When I called to question if maybe I was given wrong order, I was told "No that is our chicken chow mein." I said that I was not happy with it and the response was silence, not even offering to replace it or refund the money. Very disappointing and will not be going there again. read more

My first experience with Chinese food was the three cans of Chun King taped together, noodles in the top can. I was eight and heating the contents up while my mom was at work. My next experience was the Olde Brown Jug at the corner of Blue Hill Avenue and Morton Street in Bostons Mattapan neighborhood. There was a divvy bar in front and a Chinese restaurant in the back. It was a quality quantum leap forward. As the years passed, I found Chinese food nirvana at Kowloon on Route One and China Blossom in North Andover. We recently tried a local restaurant, China Garden in Hudson. I should have known better. My first clue, on a typically busy take out night, was no cars in their strip mall parking lot. We had pre-ordered crab Rangoon, scallion pancakes, chicken teriyaki, spring rolls and vegetable lo mein. We specified the day and hour for pickup. When we showed up, I knew something was wrong. The bag didn't feel hot. When we got it home for an anticipated great supper, it was "wronger." We had to reheat everything. The crab Rangoon was terrific. There were egg rolls and not spring rolls. The scallion pancakes were tasteless. Some heavy noodle dish instead of lo mein. And the chicken teriyaki was MIA. With me, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression when it comes to food. If you've had a good experience with China Garden, go back and enjoy their service. For us, probably not. Food is okay. But I expect it to be hot when it comes directly from the kitchen. Ambiance... this is a dive. Five tables are open and all have been cleared but are sticky and dirty. This dinner time on a Saturday evening and I saw only two people come and pick up food. No one came in to eat a meal. There's one lady in the front answering phones, and waiting on me. She has no wait or presence but gets the order in and out. She could be cleaning the front of house a lot more. If it's this dirty out front what's happening in the dark kitchen in back? I will caveat my review with, I think THE BEST in the area is China Taste in Marlborough. That said, after driving by this place for YEARS and having spit out food from Jade and Yummy, and on the fence with Star, walking out without eating from the Buffet place... This is a second place to China Taste in Marlborough. I had a craving for egg rolls and the mall stinks. They are meh at best. I didn't want to drive to Marlborough, so I placed a take out for egg rolls. Not wanting to waste gas on egg rolls, I placed an order for the boiled Peking ravioli (NOT BAD!) and easy on the oil house fried rice, extra shrimp. Not bad either - but I should have ordered the small. Having small and large is a plus. Its a take out dive. But I have YET to find a Chinese restaurant known for its cleanliness... I also miss the MSG that some complained of - so it was slightly bland but that's what soy sauce is for! Asked for extra shrimp and I got my shrimp and a fluffy rice not floating in oil. I would not recommend this place to anyone, the food was horrible! The lady was extremely short and rude over the phone, I walked into the place and was already second guess why I order here as Nothing look clean. We took a taste and just threw the $53.00 of food away. The orange chicken was black chicken as they cooked it too long, the beef and broccoli was slimy and had a nasty taste, the dumplings were under cooked, and chow lo mien was slimy as well. It really surprises me how places like this can stay open as it was the worst Chinese food I've ever had!! If I could give zero stars. Again I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and I hope no one falls into the same trap I did by wasting money on food thats poisoning our appetite. read more

China Garden has become my new favorite chinese food resturaunt in the area. Big portions and everything taste great. One of the only places around that when you ask for something to be extra spicy, they actually put a nice kick to it. I had to try a new Chinese food place because my favorite place was closed. The woman on the phone was very short and gruff on the phone. I payed about $75 for my food. The portions were very small, and I could understand this more if the quality was very good, but it wasn't. The chicken fingers were gummy, not crispy at all. The sweet and sour sauce tastes like pineapple and has a weird brownish color. The crab Rangoons were wayyyy to sweet. And the beef sticks actually made me sick, they had an awful taste. The dumplings steamed were gummy and not cooked well. The chicken fingers were the only item I actually enjoyed. Better off trying another place in/ around Hudson. read more

Surprisingly, this restaurant was not on Yelp, and I could find very little in terms of listings, a web site, or reviews elsewhere, so my wife, our 1 year old, and I decided to check it out on a Sunday evening. The outward appearance is good. The restaurant is located in a small plaza. Inside is very basic and could have used some picking up and vacuuming. That is really my only negative comment because everything else was fine. Surprisingly, a youngster took our order. He turned out to be the owner's son, Daniel, and he was full of personality. I found him to be delightful and didn't mind at all that he hung around and told us stories about Chinese puzzle rings. My son had the Vegetable Friend Rice. Unfortunately there is no brown rice available. The owner tells me there isn't a demand for it--sometimes days can go by where it's not requested. Come on Hudson diners, let's eat more healthy and request brown rice! I had Bean Curd Szechuan Style which was boiled tofu with veggies in a great tasting (if a bit salty) spicy brown sauce. My wife had House Special Two-Side Crispy Noodle which was the standard friend egg noodle under shrimp, pork and vegetables. After getting the dish, which was presented very nicely, my wife wished they were different noodles. She is used to Crispy Pad Thai at Thai restaurants and LOVES those noodles. The pancakes were brittle and not hot, the veggie was mostly cabbage and American style broccoli (2.5/5). We recently moved to the area and have found dining options to be sparse... but a hankering for Chinese food this weekend did not go unnoticed. This place is clean, the staff is friendly, the prices are good, and best of all, the food was delicious! We got a couple of dinner plates and picked them up, though they do deliver as well. There was more than enough food to fill us up and also make lunches for the next day. All of the things we tried were very fresh and we didn't have a single negative thing to say about the flavor or quality - it was all good. We're pretty non-adventurous with this type of stuff but the stand-bys were great (chicken fingers, spare ribs, pork fried rice, sesame chicken, general gau, spring rolls). We eat here at least 3 times a month. Our company is down the street. So I have a few staples, the beef and broccoli is great. The broccoli is always fresh and crunchy, as opposed to soggy at other places. The scallion pancakes are the best in the area. Also my wife and I love the wonton soup. For a hole in wall place its pretty good. They use NO msg in any of there cooking. The prices for lunch are low. Ordered last night, New Year's Eve......I had called earlier to see when to place my order, they said call two hours before I wanted my order. So I called at 6 and placed an order....they told me on the phone expect it to come in an hour to an hour and a half. Over two hours later we called to check on the food, they would not check on our order, just said they got busy. Our food came over three hours after we ordered it and, surprise, it was cold. I like the "dark and greasy" Chinese food in malls. I really do. But this stuff? Way too dark. Way too greasy. Of the food that I had there, I have to say that nothing was quite right. I threw out the fried rice (a dark DARK brown and wrong tasting) and even the boneless spareribs rather than give them to my kids. Sum up: The General Gao's chicken was 6/10. I can live with that. Solomon Pond Mall general gao is 7/10 to me. The Egg roll was 6/10. Fried rice: 0/10. Thrown out! Fried rice is nearly impossible to mess up. What on earth did these people do? SO dark dark brown. The boneless spareribs: Unclear. It doesn't taste like other boneless spareribs I've had, but I can't say that it's necessarily bad. This is my usual go-to place fo Chinese take-out in Hudson. The food is consistent and good and th prices are reasonable. They have all the typical American-style Chinese menu items. We usually get food from here at least four times a month. We stopped for awhile since the food was getting worse in quality. The last two times we gave the benefit of the doubt, but I will no longer be ordering the Orange "Chicken" again. It's so dry and not chicken tasting in the least, they either fry up cartilage or overcook the meat, it's crunchy and very hard to chew. The sauce is pretty amazing which is sad, since it's so hit or miss lately miss we are going to try something else. The rice and low mein are good. This is a nice small Chinese restaurant. When I crave Chinese food this is where I have been going for years. I usually do take-out since I live a mile from there. My favorite is the General Gau Chicken plate #C14 (chicken, rice, egg roll). The Quality is always Consistent. Always Delicious. Quantity is more than you deserve for the price, in fact I always add a couple of bucks to my order because I think it is worth it. Just had #C14 again tonight and am happy now. read more
