They've got teppanyaki tables which are popular any time of the day, and it's fun to watch the chefs even if you aren't participating in the meal. Had New Year Eve dinner reservations for party of 9 At hibachi grill. Arrived before reserved time; was not late. Waited 2 hours before seated at table. Would have left but no hope of getting seated with 9 people anywhere else on NYE. Waited 1/2 hour before waitress took drink orders.... Another long wait for food orders. One of our party couldn't take any more and left abruptly. Food quality - fair. Huge rice portions, small meat portions. Chef practically threw portions on our plates...food falling in drink cups and all over counter & chef picking a pieces that fell on counter and tossed onto plate...ew. We were seated in an additional room with 2 hibachi grills that was also used as a storage room. Unsightly Boxes of supplies were haphazardly stacked along far wall. Cobwebs stretched from ceiling to grill vent canopy. Ended up being late to following reservations at live music venue and lost our table. Been going to Ginger Gardens past 16 years -when it was Fuji Gardens on NYE. This is second year NYE service was terrible. Gave them benefit of doubt last year; Will not go back. They are trying to please too many and don't have adequate staffing. Really put a damper on our festivitie; hope that's not a precursor to the new year. read more

This well established local restaurant has hibachi, sushi, and typical American Chinese food. After our first visit, it's hard to say what their speciality is. We didn't try hibachi, but the sushi was okay, albeit pretty expensive for the quality. Relatively basic maki rolls like Eel & Avocado, Shrimp Tempura Maki, and Boston Maki were $8.45 $9.45 each. The Chinese food we tried was pretty mediocre. Beef Chow Foon had tender beef and nice chewy noodles, but was too oily. The real disappointment was the chef special Five Flavor Shrimp, which had nice flavor, but the shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. White rice is not included with entrees. Lots of big TVs and an active bar scene, but given inattentive service, high prices, and so-so food, I'll stick to other sushi and Chinese restaurants in the area. Oh well. read more

This was the go-to for my friends and I on the 4th of July. Their menu states that lunch specials aren't available on holidays, but my friends and I still ordered a lunch special each. I didn't realize this until after our order was placed, but we didn't have any issues. I ordered L10, which was chicken and veggies in a garlic sauce. Although tasty, it wasn't garlic sauce in my opinion. I didn't taste any garlic at all. It was more like a spicy brown sauce. Other than that discrepancy, this meal overall was good. Lots of chicken and yummy veggies. Lunch specials come with white rice or fried rice. I'm not quite sure why brown rice isn't an option. Also, the "appetizer of the day" is included with lunch. I find that to be an interesting concept. The appetizer of the day for us was crab Rangoon. It wasn't good at all. It was all cream cheese with a dot (literally) of crab. (See picture) If that even was crab? It tasted more like veggie cream cheese to me. My friend ordered sesame chicken. He ate all of it, so I'll assume he enjoyed it. My other friend ordered chicken teriyaki. The chicken teriyaki came with soup, salad, veggies and rice. He enjoyed it as well. Food overall was tasty. Had dinner on a monday evening. was pretty busy, but not overwhelming. we had two toddlers with us, were sat immediately, and they got our early order for the kids out right away, which is always appreciated. the crab rangoon and chicken teriyaki was delicious and the kids loved it. wife and i had two sushi rolls and some sashimi, loved both rolls and the sashimi was fresh and generously portioned. we didnt do the hibachi grill but the people who did were having a blast, we watched some of the chef's show, looked delicious and fun. service was attentive and friendly. really great experience, good food. looking forward to the next time. read more

We got a takeout order. The food that we could actually eat was good, but part of our order was Chu Chow Three Delight which, according to the menu, has chicken, beef and scallops in it. But our order contained shrimp not scallops, which 2 out of 3 of us are allergic to. I called the restaurant and complained. They offered to credit my card, one week later they have not. This place really surprised me. Drove by for years. Never went in. With the closure of a few other local places we decided to give it a try. Almost hoping for a Chinese dive bar we were surprised once inside. Clean, bright and relatively modern. Other than the teppanyaki tables the dining room is not overly large. The bar has enough high tops and it looks like they doubled the bar size by taking the bar back wall down. But now to the drinks and food. We've have had three bartenders here. Two of them (there all but one time) make great drinks! The third not so much. The Tiki drinks are strong and tasty. The mixed drinks can be ordered tall and they are tall and strong. The food is the biggest surprise. Everything we have tried has been fresh and delicious. From the raw fish to the deep fried apps. Never been disappointed. The string beans were sauteed, though there was just a little sweet sauce with zero flavor. Tofu in garlic Sauce? The tofu looked great, the vegetables looked crisp, but the sauce was just sweet, not spicy, no garlic flavor at all, and the tofu as actually sort of rubbery... not the right texture at all. We only ever order from ginger garden. The last two times the food was awful. This time the worst. Everything was over cooked, dryed out and cold. I added special instructions which were completely ignored. When I called to complain they said I could come pick up a new order. What? I waited over an hour for the first order. I understand that it's hard to operate a business right now. But this was quite possibly the worst sushi I've had in my life. And I once got food poisoning from eating sushi that was left in a warm fridge. The dumplings were okay. The fried rice was weird and not tasty. The noodles were edible with salt. In the day and age of paid delivery services it's hard to find a restaurant that is willing to do their own delivery. Especially sushi. I did not resubscribe to my delivery service which shall remain nameless. It was a waste of money and as someone who has formally worked in the restaurant business, restaurants are already hurting because of the pandemic they do not need to lose anymore of the profit. My biggest beef was the communication or lack of with my sushi restaurants. I'm usually good for a sushi deluxe but I hate salmon. Just a personal thing. I was able to call Ginger Garden and I was able to voice this to host. Not only did they did deliver it themselves and promptly but they replaced the salmon with more tuna. The sushi was fresh, delicious as was the miso soup and salad that came with it. Ginger Garden you just got yourself a regular customer and I urge anyone reading to try this restaurant themselves. read more

The Afedachi Tofu was HORRIBLE! The taste was god awful. My boyfriend who eats everything including potentially spoiled food, couldn't eat it. We used to go to Fuji haven't been since it switch owners. My husband and I decided to eat out on New Years Day for dinner. We sat in the be Sushi section and started off with the Salt and Pepper Calamari as our appetizer, OMG from the first to the last bite we couldn't get enough of it. It was fresh and tender with a very light batter. The salt and pepper seasonings were spot on. I wanted to order a 2nd helping but we had ordered other dishes. They were quite busy and they weren't fully staffed at the Sushi Bar-never the less we weren't in a hurry. We ordered Tuna Tarter, Jalapeño Hamachi, Marlborough Roll, Spider Roll which were all delicious. Our must order is the Salt and Pepper Calamari and Tuna Tarter (the flavors with the mango-AMAZING)!!! We will be back soon! I forgot to take pictures but will next time. read more

This place is shady - I assume it's the new owners. Here's the thing: I used to love Fuji Steakhouse. So I figured now that it is Ginger Garden I should give it a try. Sadly, whoever renamed it is also pretty shady. Bring Cash and don't use your credit card. Here is what happened to me: My waitress took my debit card and came back and told me it was declined and I had to give her another card. So I did, but should have been worried and asked for a declined receipt. The next day I noticed she had charged me twice! I called in and was told that the manager said he was not over and so it must be a processing error with the bank, that the charge should be reversed in a few days. A week later I called in after it was not reversed and someone who would only say his name was "Jim" said a manager would call me back and took my number. Of course, "Jim" was just as shady as the rest of them and no one ever called me back. They have not corrected the issue and I've tried to fight them with my bank but apparently they must have faked my signature on a receipt or something. I WAS a longtime customer with a family of 5 who love Hibachi, but I'll be dining at Samba Steak and Sushi from now on. It's a little further away from my as I'm coming from Hudson, but the service staff is way less likely to rip you off, which is a huge plus in my book. read more

My parents and friends decided to come here and bring me here on my birthday. Lots of options on the menu and very hard to pick. Teppanyaki was awesome and delicious. Chef was really well-aware beforehand that it was my birthday. Appetizers blend in well with the main course of the meal. Definitely recommend the chicken wings and crab rangoons as well as the boneless spare ribs. Did try both the salt and pepper chicken wings and the spicy house wings (which were both very tasty). See lots of varieties on wings. Duck sauce and hot mustard were absolutely sweet, compared to other Chinese restaurants (where sauces had no taste in general). Business here is definitely amazing. Restaurant was straight up packed on a Saturday night, while service was still quick. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable. The evening ended off with wrapping up gifts and CAKE!!! Food was 25 minutes late (that is on Grubhub) and as expected it was cold. I ordered the Filet and shrimp Hibachi. They called me to tell me they had no ginger sauce and that fried rice would be charged extra. I told them I already paid the additional fee on app. She then verified how I wanted the filet cooked. Disappointing first experience ordering food here; placed my order through the website/3rd-party service (Menufy.com) for delivery and it never showed up. After 60 minutes, called the restaurant and they had no record of my order until....they checked for it! Imagine that. It took 2 people to figure out how to read their own computer system and I received absolutely nothing in return for waiting more than 2 hours for my food to arrive. The food itself is unremarkable - maybe it's better when you eat-in? Frankly, I won't be giving this place another try after the lack of awareness displayed this time. If I didn't call the restaurant to check on my order, which they had in their system the entire time, I have serious doubts I would have even received it. I really have mixed feelings about writing this review...on one hand, the food is surprisingly upper level for suburban Asian: Fresh, clean tasting yet full-flavored. Portions are large, the sushi is terrific, and the stir fry's are brimming with protein and veggies. The hot & sour soup is also surprisingly good, not gloppy, not charged with red chili flakes like most Americanized Chinese restaurants. Drinks are very good, alcohol content is more than generous. On the other hand...the wait staff is maddening. As in clueless. Nice enough, but bordering on useless. My soup arrived only after reminding her, and after I had already dug into my entire. At our previous visit, the fried rice never arrived. Two visits, it feels like bizarro world. 4 stars for the quality of good, yet the service is so non-maliciously bad that it's actually amusing. We'll continue going unless the food starts to go downhill. Edit as of July 2018: We've since become regulars at Ginger Garden...the food is always great, and the wait staff, while still "amusing" have gotten much better. One of the waiters now recognizes us and remembers our ordering habits, which is great. When I'm in Marlborough, I go to ginger garden. The owner Dennis is the real deal. There are a bunch of Asian places in town but ginger garden is definitely the top spot. Everything is very fresh and the prices are very modest. The staff( Vicky is my favorite) are all super nice and very attentive. Another reason I love this establishment, the place is always super clean and the bathrooms are spotless( that says a lot in my book). Stop in say hi to Dennis and be prepared to eat some really fresh food . Oh ya almost forgot , try a scorpion bowl!!!! read more
