Scrolling through the other reviews of this place were truly disheartening. Sure, the place seemed to be a little rundown, but this greatly amplified the experience. New Jang Su came across as authentic and time tested. The staff were courteous, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The woman who sat us at our table helped explain the menu to me without hesitation or any signs of frustration. Truly a blessing for a first timer. The first time I can remember having authentic Korean food and my only regret is not ordering the barbecue; the smells emanating from the kitchen were delightfully aromatic in the best ways and didn't help at all to cure my hunger pangs. I opted for the Chap Chae lunch special and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. A generous portion with a variety of side dishes, I knew before I took my first bite it would be nothing short of immaculate. The noodles were cooked to perfection, the vegetables sautéed down to the perfect balance of soft and crunchy, the pork perfectly grilled, and all tied together with a delectable blend of uniquely Korean spices and flavors. I finished my meal and half of my daughters and although I could've stopped after half of mine, the pristine delectability simply wouldn't allow it. Right under 30 bucks for two people, the complete meal for two also included a hot teapot of (maybe ginger?) tea that warmed my bones before lunch was arrived. The pricing was fair, especially for the quality and quantity received, the staff were professional and respectable, and the inner and outer appearance seemed authentic, clean, and food focused. Definitely will try again next time I'm in Burlington.

The decor here is not like the modern, flashy Korean BBQ places that have been blowing up on social media, so it felt super nostalgic to eat here. Like others have mentioned, the ventilation isn't super great so I wouldn't wear any important clothes here. I came in a group of 4 on a weekend in the mid-afternoon. They have strict lunch and dinner hours and even though we came during their break from 2-2:30pm, they told us that we could wait at their table. I appreciated the service and did not experience any rude treatment like others have suggested, although we also dined at a time when they were less busy. We got a number of items including the doenjang jjigae ($12.99), ttokbeokki ($16.99), short rib ($36.99), chicken gui ($28.99), and bulgogi ($33.99). All of the food was pretty good and had a homey vibe, although their marinades are on the sweeter side. They grilled the meats for us. I think this is a nice spot to get a comfy, casual, family meal! The meat is not mind-blowingly impressive but very decent.

Great spot for an easy, delicious meal. The beef short ribs and beef bulgogi were very good. Great service too. I will definitely be back.

This unassuming place is actually very good. Located in a shopping mall, it's not a fancy place but don't let that fool you. They were out of bulgogi when we went on lunar new year BUT we opted for the spicy pork belly and short rib. I was very impressed with the spicy pork belly--it was my favorite. The seasoning and veggies were spot on. Note that the meat portions are not ginormous like American BBQ. The quality is great but expect smaller portions. The banchan was plentiful and very tasty. The japchae was a good complement to the BBQ. It was hot and the portion was a great size. Their bibimbap was okay. It wasn't hot like it should've been but it was warm enough to eat (there was bulgogi here). They will bring the rice in small individual portions with the banchan so make sure to save it for bibimbap. Their consomme soup is basic so I would skip that. Three of us had lunch/dinner and we spent about $100 (pre-tax and pre-tip)

Surprise experience, very good (Lunch). They set five small dishes of pickled appetizers down to start (wasn't expecting that). Superb. Ordered clear noodles with beef - Char something. Very good. It appears this is a mom and pop run place. He is not accommodating but she is wonderful. A bit expensive. I would go back.

Bad service and rude staffs. Our party has a total of 5. My other 2 friends were running late. There were so many empty tables and the place didn't seem to be busy at all. This is not a buffet restaurant where they put limited time for your stay but they made us sit in the front and waited until all of us presented to be seated without any explanations. I had to tell them we knew what to order food and were ready to order for our party regardless the other 2 friends were running late because we were starving. The host sat us down with the grumpy face and rushed us to place order. The place was super hot and humid, we could not stay any longer to enjoy the food. So we decided to bring the leftovers outside to eat. The waitress aggressively told me that I could only pack food that I ordered and did not allow me to bring any side dishes home. I told her that I did not want to waste the food, she would throw it in the trash anyway. She said yes, she would rather throw it away. Well, let me tell you this: 1. The food itself is already overpriced. We only had a few dishes but ended up paid $80 each person without the tips 2. We did not ask for any extra side dishes 3. Again, this is not a "All you can eat" restaurant where you can't not bring any leftover home. 4. If you're nice enough to give free side dishes, stay kind or charge the side dishes however you want. Why forcing people to waste their food and rather throwing the food away? Unless you planned to reuse those free side dishes then it made more sense to make a big deal out of it. I left and still gave them 18% of tips even though they deserve nothing after giving the worst customer service. Thank you, but I'd never come back to this place.

First time ever trying a Korean BBQ restaurant. Wow, I was soo impressed with the good service, experience and the amazing food. My wife and I got the short ribs and prime rib for our meal. We enjoyed all of the sides and the meat was was tender, that it melted your mouth!!! We will definitely be back...

Our friendly server, Eric, came and took our drink order and helpfully walked us through any questions we had about the menu. For appetizers, we ordered the buffalo shrimp and the jerk chicken fondue. The buffalo jumbo shrimp was fantastic, the four pieces were delightfully coated in buffalo sauce and laid on a good amount of blue cheese. The fondue was surprisingly large. It came with jerk chicken, broccoli, grapes, fried cauliflower, and garlic sourdough croutons. Definitely a crowd pleaser with a lot of textural diversity. For entrees, we ordered the braised short rib pappardelle and the filet mignon Cobb salad which I ordered with an add on of avocado (roughly a quarter of a large one). The Cobb salad was lovely with a great medium rare filet on top and had a variety of ingredients. The pappardelle had great braised beef in it and the tomatoes and pasta complimented it well. Definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in the mall area.

My first visit, I had the rotisserie chicken with was excellent. Wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. During my second visit I ordered a cheeseburger medium-well, the waitress repeated "medium-rare?", which I correct and said, "no medium-well", which she corrected on the order slip. Somehow the kitchen got it wrong and I ended up with a medium-rare burger, which kind of spoiled my evening. The fries, on the other hand were some of the best. The key lime pie was mouthwateringly delicious. My only complaint is one I have with most restaurants; they seem to assume that 'everybody' likes broccoli and asparagus, and they don't offer any alternatives, like green beans or corn. The bar area has TV's, which generally show whatever sporting event is on at the time, and are mostly visible from the tables in the seating area. There's ample on-street and lot parking right outside the entrance, including available HP parking

High-effort, well-executed and conceived takes on middle eastern and American food - lamb over rice, falafel, burgers, hot chicken sandwiches, hummus. Chicken is their strongest suit, in my estimation. They do amazing chicken tenders and chicken wings, paired with a tasty sauce and breaded for a really killer crunch. I love em. Same goes for their chicken burgers, chicken over rice combos, and chicken wraps. Lamb here is great, as is the falafel. I haven't had a bad meal with either. I tried their hummus on a recent trip and thought it was good. Nothing mind-blowing but better than the average. Also want to call out their waffle fries and onion rings, which are perfectly done. I love em to death. Whatever my main is, my side will typically be either the chicken tends or the waffle fries. For the negatives, their non-burger beef offerings suffer from the beef having lots of chewy bits in them. For example, their steak and cheese should be a sure thing, but every bite had a bit chewy bit I had to stop eating to pull out. They also overdo it on the mayo/sauce for that sandwich. So yeah, avoid their steak bomb and steak and cheese. I haven't tried their milkshakes but I am very sure they do a great job. Halal Eatz is one of those places you can usually trust to do a new item very well.
