Jjajang Noodle
Marni M.

Craving black bean noodles, I wanted to try it here since I had some shopping to do. I ordered it to-go since I was still numb from a prior dentist appointment just minutes before. The food was microwaved the next day because I ended up getting distracted and eating something else for dinner instead. All leading up to the noodles being not so satisfactory when I finally got to it. It tasted like caramelized onion with tiny pieces of what I presume to be beef in it. Overall, it wasn't bad but not great. I definitely advise to eat it fresh and go for the option where they add seafood or beef to it. Given it was $12, I think it was fairly priced. Might come to try other items from their menu.

2 big buns (king dumpling) - Two steamed dumplings with pleated tops are placed on a white plate, likely served at a restaurant or food court.

This place is really a 4.5 star place but thats not an option. I eered on the side of 5 full stars...read on to understand why. Ambiance: This place is in the food court of HMart in Burlington. It get very busy here, especially on weekends. Finding a seat for 2 is difficult, nevermind seating for our party of 4. Thats not their problem though. The restaurant stall itself looked organized and the menu was clear and easy to understand. Service: It was good. The lady took my initial order of the King Buns and the credit card machine had problems. She put my order in and let me pay later after they reboot it. I ended up coming back to order 2 other meals anyways. Food: It was excellent! I started with the king buns, hoping they were juicy buns like xiao long baos, but she said no, they are just meat buns. I ordered it anyways and the size was worthy of the "king" moniker. I wouldn't say they had any juice inside, but a there is a tasty piece of meat mixed with glass noodles and other ingredients. A little on the dry side, but its only like $6.99 for 2 of them and it was worth a try for me. The sweet and sour pork is $20 with no rice, but it was so good to me. They put the sauce on the side, which is really appreciated as it meant every single piece of pork was crispy! Really looking forward to ordering this again. We also got this other dish which is a combo of jia jiang mian noodles and a seafood noodle soup. Both of these were excellent as well! The wife thought the seafood soup was on the spicy side, but I thought it was perfect for those that like some kick in their soup. Other thoughts: - Food takes some time to cook here...understandable for anyone that has worked in an asian restaurant and know that fried pork takes time. Its definitely something you want cooked well and not under cooked. - To get a table here for dining in, you almost have to stalk and hover over others as they are near completion of the meal. You need to watch out for other hawkers who may try to claim the table you've been waiting on. - The sweet and sour pork is pricey at $20 and comes with no rice, but its large enough to feed at least 2 adults.

location - Inside Young Chow Lou, a Korean-Chinese cuisine restaurant, showing the counter with menu images, food prep area, and a glass barrier.

I went to this spot when exploring the Burlington H-Mart food court. I had been craving jajangmyun for a few days and ordered one from here. The jajangmyun was decent--not the best nor the worst. The lady at the shop was very friendly. Overall, it was a mid experience.

jja jang and jampong combo $10.99 good but has MSG
Dave M.

we got the Ja Jang ($7.99) and Jjamjaa Myun ($10.99), which is half ja jang/half jampong and a Poland spring ($1.00). they use MSG b/c my stomach told me the next day. Ja jang is watery and the noodles tastes cheap The jampong tastes like ginger (on 2 separate occasions). doesn't taste good. they took about 10 mins to make it and they didn't have other customers so i expected something special. Not really a fan of this place

My boyfriend loves the ja-jang noodles! I usually order it to go for him. The black bean sauce comes in a small container separate from the noodles, you just pour it on top of the noodles and stir when your ready to eat. It kind of looks like humungous worms. I'm personally not a big fan of it. Its good, but nothing I would ever crave for. I made my friend try it once and he said "it tastes like an asian version of chef boyardee". For only $9, it's not too bad!

This is a hidden gem inside the food court of H-Mart , which is amazing in its own right. If you want a proper meal even after all the H-Mart free samples (on weekends only), this is the place to go. The owner specializes in flour-based foods (I swear this sounds much better in Chinese), such as noodles and buns. There is something to be said about an owner who proudly displays his craft for all to see. The owner makes these pork and vegetable buns right behind the counter and they are absolutely delicious! Also worthy of mention is their jap chae, which is cooked fresh each time. Even if I'm not hungry, I order the buns and jap chae to go because they're that good!

Din Sum special 10 pieces, unfortunately red sweet bean bun's dough was not cooked perfectly and still uncooked.

I wish the food offered is at least well prepared and cooked, unfortunately sweet bean bun was under cooked, dough was still uncooked.

I came here for a quick lunch before doing some grocery shopping. It's been awhile since I've had Ja Jang noodles and coincidently, the last time I had them was in an H-Mart in Vancouver. Ja Jang noodles may not be the most visually appealing dish but it is simple & delicious. The noodles, which according to the restaurant sign are homemade, are covered in a black bean sauce with small bits of pork, onions and peppers. There aren't a lot of veggies in this dish as it's mainly noodles & sauce but it's really good so I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Delivered to your seat!!! I like that. Always stop here when coming shopping at H mart..

This is a nice antidote to what way TOO MANY "Asian" restaurants are like in the greater Boston…read morearea: slick, prettified and exoticized decor, inflated pricing and mediocre, bland and generally dumbed-down tourist food. This place is none of those things---the interior is simple and dare I say, well worn. But that's the whole point, you feel like you're in an authentic immigrant family restaurant, which it appears to be---a very very sweet and kind lady seems to be the only server in this place (we went on a weeknight, so maybe on a Friday/Sat/Sun it's more crowded and there are more staff) and her husband mans the cash register by the door. Old school! Food is solid and authentic, and refreshingly gimmick-free. What you see is what you get. Shockingly, the prices are about the same as in the Korean places in the food court at H-Mart down the road in Burlington...but you get more and better quality food! And they don't appear to have an alcohol license, which is kind of a good thing because they don't try to upsell you with their drink menu, which in Asian restaurants tend to be pretty lousy mass-market water-beers (sometimes just with Asian labels on similar swill) at craft-beer prices anyhow. Bimbibap was quite unique: rice was served on a separate bowl, while the actual main bowl was full of veggies and meat and egg. Very nice contrast to most places' bimbibap being 80% rice and 20% veggies/meat. Came with a small side of miso soup. UPDATE, one week later: Came back to try out the Korean BBQ. For 3 people, we ordered 3 of the BBQ menu items, came out to a reasonable $100 or so before tip since we just had the complimentary toasted brown rice tea (hyeonmi-cha) and ice water. It was just the right amount of food for an evening meal (more voractious eaters would probably want an additional 1-2 dishes) and the lady came to our table to cook the food for us, ensuring that nothing would be overcooked. The short rib was easily the best, followed by the bulgogi, and the squid with pork belly and veggies was pretty good not great (it was interestingly cooked over the open flame on a square of aluminum foil). Everything was perfectly marinated, tender and juicy. Ventilation was good, so our clothes did not reek of roasted meat afterwards---some places have weak fans, this one did not. Service was again impeccable, gracious and speedy...very nice warm vibes, not cold or perfunctory like some places. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Decided since we were in the area, the lady and I would give it a go! Still the best available in the area IMO for non-AYCE traditional style. They cook it for you so if you aren't KBBQ savvy, they got you! The wife is awesome she's usually very sweet and cooks your meats perfectly. The hubby, haha he always seems grouchy but no issues. Service is quick and space and tables are ample. The meat cuts are plenty, always go with Kalbi, spicy pork, jap chae appetizer. Of course you also get plenty of banchan to supplement your meal! Will def come back again!

We booked our table in advance, and the reservation process was smooth--they did take a credit card to hold the table, which was totally fine and gave us peace of mind for a busy night. The staff was incredibly accommodating. They allowed us to bring our own birthday cake, and at the end of the meal they brought it out with birthday candles for my daughter, which made her feel so special. That thoughtful touch really meant a lot to us. The food was excellent. We loved the sushi--fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The Yin Yang Chicken was a standout dish, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The drinks were also fantastic and paired really well with the food. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations for both food and drinks, which made ordering easy and enjoyable. Even though the restaurant was packed, the service never felt rushed. The atmosphere and ambiance were lively, vibrant, and perfect for a celebration. You could really feel the energy of the place. Overall, Karma was the perfect spot for a birthday dinner--great food, great service, and a great vibe. We'll definitely be back for future celebrations and nights out. Highly recommend!

The menu is huge, and it's fusion so there's a variety to choose from (including sushi). The ambiance is also so cool, it has a very futuristic feel. My brother and I came here for dinner and shared the Pu Pu platter for two and chicken fried rice. The platter came with golden chicken wings, boneless spare ribs, beef teriyaki, shrimp tempura, Krab Rangoon, chicken fingers, and pork & veggie egg rolls. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portion is perfect and all of the appetizers are cooked and marinated to perfection. My top three favorites out of the appetizers were the beef teriyaki, chicken fingers, and spare ribs. It came with spicy mustard and duck sauce for dipping. The rice was also some of the best I've ever had, each of the flavors of the ingredients was prevalent and the chicken was great. Everything came out quickly and the staff were super friendly and diligent. I will 10000% be back here again!
