Small Chinese restaurant near downtown Hudson. Ordered takeout on a Saturday late afternoon. Singapore rice noodles, Hot and sour soup, egg rolls, and Mandarin triple delight. Soup and noodles were nicely spiced and loaded with fresh ingredients. Triple delight had many favors and delicious. Egg rolls were crispy. Staff was friendly, quick and helpful. Prices were reasonable and they also offer a buffet option. I will definitely be back.

Every time I come to Hudson I have to come to peking garden, very delicious food, my family loves it very much, the service is very friendly, we will be back soon

The food was delicious without having to wait too long, General Tso's Chicken was one of my favorites.

They have a lot of lunch options and different combination plates. The lunch options are under $10. They include soup or a soda. Pork Fried Rice or White Rice. Choice of an appetizer and an entrée. A great value for the money. I got the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Pork Fried Rice, an Egg Roll and Hot and Sour Soup for less money than fast food restaurants. The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce was absolutely delicious, and I'm extremely picky on this dish. It had four jumbo Shrimp in a delicious sauce. The Pork Fried Rice was light in color, strong in flavor. It was delicious! The Egg Roll had a nice combination of celery, pork, cabbage and the right seasonings. It passed my no duck sauce needed taste. The flavors were great. I tried the duck sauce, although it looked like, it had that great New England apple flavor. The only item I wasn't a huge fan of was their Hot and Sour soup. I felt it lacked flavor and was missing some old school ingredients. Overall, this was a great lunch stop with a lot of value for your money. I will definitely return!

Mixed bag with highs and lows. -- Hot and Sour Soup (on a lunch combo): Pleasing rendition, with many mushroom types, a just-thick-enough broth, and some mini bits of red pepper in addition to liquid heat. Above average. -- Magnolia Special Chicken Wings: Big plate of wings in a dark sauce combining sweet, heat, and a bit of sour, but not to be mistaken for sweet and sour. Outside, not much crispness. Inside, not much tenderness, and barely moist (forget juicy), but nice marinade flavor deep down. Above average to well above average, but previously elite. -- Pork Egg Foo Yong (on a lunch combo): Two naked patties/omelettes with thick brown gravy on the side. Exterior not crisp, but firm. Interior perfectly tender with a profusion of large chunked onions and tasty pork, and fairly fresh pork at that. Good flavor to the gravy-- served as a big bowl with no monkey dish or spoon. Near-elite. -- Pork Fried Rice (on a lunch combo): Fresh and nice texture but subtle of flavor and not old school style. Decent amount of pork. Rice-a-Roni flavor. Average to slightly above. (Yes, maybe slightly above. Rice-a-Roni has its place.) -- Chicken Fingers (on a lunch combo): Standard issue with the usual low meat-to-batter ratio. Nothing noteworthy on the positive or negative side. Average. Servicewise, I felt ignored the entire meal. Had to grab my own napkins off another table. Hoped for a chance at a water refill that came too late. Long wait for the check. Nothing rude, but not present, alert, or efficient.

Would have left but no hope of getting seated with 9 people anywhere else on NYE. Waited 1/2 hour before waitress took drink orders.... Another long wait for food orders. One of our party couldn't take any more and left abruptly. Food quality - fair. Huge rice portions, small meat portions. Chef practically threw portions on our plates...food falling in drink cups and all over counter & chef picking a pieces that fell on counter and tossed onto plate...ew. We were seated in an additional room with 2 hibachi grills that was also used as a storage room. Unsightly Boxes of supplies were haphazardly stacked along far wall. Cobwebs stretched from ceiling to grill vent canopy. Ended up being late to following reservations at live music venue and lost our table. Been going to Ginger Gardens past 16 years -when it was Fuji Gardens on NYE. This is second year NYE service was terrible. Gave them benefit of doubt last year; Will not go back. They are trying to please too many and don't have adequate staffing. Really put a damper on our festivitie; hope that's not a precursor to the new year.

We ordered two Thai Iced Teas, an order of Edamame, a Red Curry with Chicken, and a Pad-See-Ew. The Thai Teas were great, very happy with them. The size of the drink was generous and they did not overfill with ice, effectively providing a good amount of the actual drink and it was not watered down. The Edamame was good; I did add a little extra salt, but I would rather add salt myself than it be too salty. They were prepared just right and very tasty - hit the spot! As for the entrees, they were okay, not my fave. Every restaurant has their own style and take on a recipe - it is not that it was not good, it just was different than some other interpretations of the recipe. Re: Pad-See-Ew, it was on me not reading the description to realize it only had broccoli and Chinese broccoli/kale, so I was a little bummed to not see other vegetables. The flavor was still good and as expected though. The Red Curry was loaded with eggplant, peppers, bamboo shoots, etc. as usual. The pieces were a little on the thick/large side, but better that than not enough. The sauce was not as creamy-coconut milky as others and had a definite spice to it. The portions were good sized and had good flavor. Again, the entrees were not bad, they just were a little different than how we usually get them at other places. They did make the food quickly and portions were generous; I would consider ordering from here again and trying something else.

A Tuesday night visit was chaotic servicewise, but the food came through. Got a fixed Dinner Combo of Sweet & Sour chicken, Boneless Ribs, and Pork Fried Rice. I added "an order of egg rolls." They only gave me one, but only charged me for one, which worked out better. Egg Roll: Very crunchy. Minimal flavor. See photo for composition. Sweet and Sour Chicken: Generous serving, very crunchy, slightly better than average meat-to-batter ratio. Very pleasant golden sauce with some tang and complexity. No pineapples, no cherries. Boneless Ribs: Very thin, some were dry, some were moist. Good flavor with not only the glaze contributing but also some additional seasoning, possibly five spice? Pork Fried Rice: Superb. The right color, texture, and flavor. I partied like it's 1979. Visit 2, a week later: Smaller crowd, less chaos, but a little less wow factor. Dinner Combo with Shrimp & Lobster Sauce, Chicken Wings, and Pork Fried Rice; I added on an app of Boneless Spareribs. Shrimp: Pale, slippery, not undercooked but close. Juicy. Lobster Sauce: Very soft, slightly gelatinous, slightly garlicky, very faintly sweet. Not that warm. Chicken Wings: Three of them on the combo, scorchingly hot, pale, faintly five spiced but not much flavor. Pork Fried Rice: Again excellent, good color and texture, loaded with pork nuggets and onions, slightly smoky, good flavor overall. Boneless Ribs: Thin slivers, nicely coated with red glaze, mostly moist, slightly fatty, occasional gristle. Overall: Not in the elite class but with the right order can be a contender for that next level. Though uneven, there's enough promise to keep going back, and if the rice is this good every time, it's worth going back even if only for that.

On the bright side, the portion of the lunch special was very generous, especially when paired with soup for an extra dollar. The vegetables were fresh, shrimp was a decent texture, and online ordering was easy. However, the flavor wasn't very memorable...no sense of fresh garlic, ginger, scallion, herbs...just mild soy sauce, salty, corn starchy American food court grub. And the pork fried rice is certainly not made to order. Unfortunately, I placed my order using Beyond Menu, but upon arrival at the restaurant to pick up my food, it was clear they never checked the incoming order. No big deal, they promptly started cooking my food and I had my takeaway in about 10 minutes. It's good I wasn't planning to eat there, as the "dining" area was super cold / unheated. I'm sure the kitchen was hot with the cooking in progress, but the waiting area felt like I was standing outside at a food truck. You can do a lot worse than Yummy Kitchen to fill yourself up for very little money, but I'll keep searching for that elusive Chinatown authenticity out here in the burbs.
