K-22 Ginger Chicken

Little Pusan is back!! Every dish at Little Pusan is made with care and brought out piping hot and delicious. The fried dumplings are perfect with delicate, crispy wraps. The bibimbap is an amazing fusion of flavors. The ginger chicken hits the perfect level of spicy and the vegetables are perfectly done. It's not fancy - but it's impossible to care about decor when you are served such mouth-watering, wonderful Korean dishes at Little Pusan.

What a wonderful gem of a restaurant. We came here with some friends after a visit to the Discovery Museum. My friend is a vegetarian and was pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian selections. I ordered the tteokbokki and dolsot bi bim bap. Food was absolutely fantastic. Tteokbokki was the perfect texture while spicy but not overwhelmingly so. Loved the crunch the heated stone pot gave the bi bim bap. We brought two babies, and the owner was wonderful to both. Most of the time the babies were in their car seats next to us on the floor (restaurant is small but we made it work!). However, we brought them on our laps towards the end. The owner talked about her granddaughter with such happiness. While we were setting up the stroller to leave, my 5 month old was crying in her car seat. The owner squatted down to rock her and speak to her in Korean. So sweet. Will absolutely be back.

My cousin wanted to try Korean food, so I brought him Little Pusan after our chocolate adventure (Little Chocolatier). The waitress (owner?) is a cute little ole lady who was enjoying her korean drama (we did too lol) I can tell she takes pride in her food because she checked in on us frequently and didn't take too kindly if we said the food was too spicy (it wasn't for me, but it was for my guest). The portion was huge! Also, the menu was very extensive. Note: if you have a party of 5, PLEASE call ahead, the shop is very small. I wish I knew more about Korean food to give a better review, but all I can say is I enjoyed this experience. Will definitely come back.

Yooooo this place is awesome! Who would've known that one of the best Korean food in MA would be in Maynard! I'm korean and I've been looking for traditional style korean food. Even the interior design is so korean. I love it! The dishes are more than the average Maynard price, but there ain't such a thing as cheap korean food in America. Only at KTown in LA LOL. I would totally come back here to eat! Ahhhh I'm so happy I found this place! Also, their kimchi is FRESH and so....idk how to explain it. You gotta be korean to get ma flow. Anyways, come here! Real great! Has a lot of vegetarian options as well!!

I love this place. Little Pusan is a tiny mom-and-pop restaurant serving fresh, authentic and delicious Korean food at a great price. The menu is straightforward. The portions are totally appropriate. They have a beer-and-wine license and offer a simple selection of both. It's a little mom-and-pop restaurant, so ya, you'll wait a little longer when it's crowded. It's not the place to go if you're in a rush or looking to stuff yourself and they lay no claim to being a Korean BBQ. Take it for what it is, and you'll love it. http://www.littlepusan.com/

Strip mall Korean eatery with a slightly swankier vibe than most. Trendy decor, modern bar…read more Experienced and friendly servers. Approachable menu with as much fusion as authentic Korean. -- Chicken Wings: Jumbo wings with extra crispness and an inner texture varying between sufficiently moist and gushingly juicy, depending on the piece. Always liked them, and I tried twice more recently with similar positive results. Excellent flavor in both the Soy Garlic and the Sweet and Spicy Gochujang. Superb, and with no price hikes in at least five years, now an excellent value too. -- Kimchi Pancake: Crispy on the edges and fluffier inside, with kimchi adding some crunch and nice flavor to go with the starch. Thin dark sauce to complement it. I think of it as a Korean cross between scallion pancake and egg foo yong. Good for sharing. -- Seafood Jampong: A large bowl of seafood stew with a red broth that has some creaminess as well as spice. Nice texture and chock full of large mussels, scallops, shrimp (gigantic Gulf shrimp as well as baby shrimp), Asian squid, and noodles. The squid was a little chewy, but everything else was cooked beautifully. This dish satisfied both in the restaurant and as leftovers the next day. Good choice for family meal, date meal, or chowing with the buds meal.

We just did the sushi Love boat for four people and all of the sushi was fresh. The salmon was buttery. The tuna was firm. The rolls were done perfectly. We had to wait a bit at the door and there was a little bit of confusion there so we were delayed in getting our seats.... And the waitress was a bit delayed getting to our table, but we made the best of it. Next time we're here, I'm going to do some of the more Korean dishes, but the sushi is well recommended.

Mixed bag with highs and lows. -- Hot and Sour Soup (on a lunch combo): Pleasing rendition, with many mushroom types, a just-thick-enough broth, and some mini bits of red pepper in addition to liquid heat. Above average. -- Magnolia Special Chicken Wings: Big plate of wings in a dark sauce combining sweet, heat, and a bit of sour, but not to be mistaken for sweet and sour. Outside, not much crispness. Inside, not much tenderness, and barely moist (forget juicy), but nice marinade flavor deep down. Above average to well above average, but previously elite. -- Pork Egg Foo Yong (on a lunch combo): Two naked patties/omelettes with thick brown gravy on the side. Exterior not crisp, but firm. Interior perfectly tender with a profusion of large chunked onions and tasty pork, and fairly fresh pork at that. Good flavor to the gravy-- served as a big bowl with no monkey dish or spoon. Near-elite. -- Pork Fried Rice (on a lunch combo): Fresh and nice texture but subtle of flavor and not old school style. Decent amount of pork. Rice-a-Roni flavor. Average to slightly above. (Yes, maybe slightly above. Rice-a-Roni has its place.) -- Chicken Fingers (on a lunch combo): Standard issue with the usual low meat-to-batter ratio. Nothing noteworthy on the positive or negative side. Average. Servicewise, I felt ignored the entire meal. Had to grab my own napkins off another table. Hoped for a chance at a water refill that came too late. Long wait for the check. Nothing rude, but not present, alert, or efficient.

Have tried many of the Korean restaurants in Allston and this, K Restaurant, seems to outrank them all! As for service -- indeed you pay first, but was a bit confused about the server/front desk who pretty much tell you to order before seated (choosing your own table), take your order, serve you with all the food, etc -- literally she handles all the customer service stuff -- wondering why she did not appear at pleasant or smile at all. Don't get me wrong, fully aware of wide range of personalities -- some appear more excited and enthusiastic than others others -- even without the the usual tipping at the end, and especially with the tipping at the end. Here, of course you pay -- and finalize your tip or no time before being served with your food, but still the server did not appear to greet or show those standard pleasantries expected all common in America ... She wasn't rude or anything. It just seems like she's not happy being there. Any event, just some thoughts here. Would definitely be back. And do recommend this place to others who want delicious meal but just note the above.

We had a total of 4 banchans, 2 apps and 2 entrees along with sauces, rice and our drinks on the table. A lot, and it still worked. The food was amazing. I could probably drink their sauces. The sashimi was fresh. Everything was great. I'm not a Korean food connoisseur so not sure about lower ratings on here but from my understanding it is inspired by family style meals. That being said I think the smaller portions + multiple plates meant for sharing are perfect and makes for a fun meal that leaves you at a satisfied full. As for comments on authenticity while I cant comment much on that I feel this always varies as families across regions of any country have their own influences and versions of meals.
