I found this guy on Google and felt that I'd help a newbie in the tech arena (His works, not mine), with some business. He took a day and a half to run a 20 minute diagnostic on my machine, wipe windows 10 (which worked fine, tutned on and everything and the pc was always fast), for Windows 7. I humored him because he seemed like he was trying. I get the machine honme after 1 1/2 days, just to find out that it's running incredibly slow. I sent him a text to get this rude reply: "Your computer is older than 12 yrs old. It didn't turn on when you dropped it off and it literally sounded terrible. I charged you $75 to bring it back to life. You dropped off a computer that did not work and I returned it to you working. If You weren't in such a rush I would of did even more for you because you seemed like a nice guy over the phone. I should have charge you at least 175.Don't text me anymore you got your computer back working, and in a way better condition it was dropped in,for dirt cheap. Have a good night! Buyer beware. Not only is this guy a scam artist, but a jerk and he added to my computers problem. John reached out to me concerned about my dissatisfaction with their communication with me about my options, their warranty, and the confusion of not entering the key code for the operating system. John prides himself in quality customer service and has gone out of the way to satisfy me. While the original issue could have been avoided with a bit more conversation to explain my options and find out what my needs were I am totally satisfied with the resolution. My laptop was not starting up when I took it in to C R Computer repair. They wiped the hard drive which was fine but instead of installing the original operating system which had the key code on the label on the bottom they installed Windows 10 telling me I should upgrade anyways. Since I also lost all my microsoft apps they installed a free app, Open Office. After experiencing how slow Open Office was I spoke to someone I wish I had been able to get a hold of before going to C R. He told me to uninstall Open Office as it has had no community support for 5+ years. He told me to install Libre Office (much better and with current community support) and also told me that the original operating system could have been reinstalled instead of Windows 10. Basically after talking to him he told me to NEVER go back to C R Computer as it was his opinion that they did not have my best interest in mind and did not know what they were doing. Is my computer working now.....yes. Could the repairs have been handled in a better manner? Apparently they could have. I do not know much about computers but I do trust my source as he is a computer programmer with almost 10 years of IT experience as well. The person at the front desk was always so anxious and nervous and it just gave me such an unsettling feeling but they were at least friendly. But on the other hand, Omar saved a little bit of this review by being very friendly and reasonable with everything.
