So sad it took me so long to find this place because it's one of my new favorite places to grab a drink on pearl! The atmosphere is a perfect balance of chill but not too chill. There's a variety of seating options whether it be outside, at the bar, or at a table. The drinks are so good, the service is great, and the fries are incredible and CHEAP. I will be back!! read more

Went here today for lunch. Absolutely everything but the coleslaw was over cooked. The burnt ends were awful, chicken tough, ribs were like jerky, hot link was too done and watching my son yank at the brisket in the sandwich was comical. The waitress didn't refill drinks one time either. We had an absolute full plate of burnt ends left and she didn't once ask if they weren't to our liking. My son and I paid $80 for lunch and won't be back. This IS NOT a BBQ place! It's a place to drink that has stuff cooked on a BBQ. Pearl St. has too many quality options to waste your time here. read more

A last minute find via Yelp...sign out front says Beer, Bourdon and BBQ! We went for lunch so didn't order any beer or bourdon, but their selection of bourdon was the best I've ever seen! And the prices were great as well. We started our lunch experience by sharing the deviled eggs appetizer. I love deviled eggs! And these were delicious....topped with a dab of hot sauce...perfect! My husband ordered the Carolina pulled pork sandwich with French fries and I ordered the daily special...smoked turkey rueben with side order of cole slaw. Both of our meals were good...I wasn't fond of the cole slaw but that's because I'm from the south and don't care for vinegar based cole slaw...I like my Mayo!! Next time we'll come back for dinner so that we can do a bourdon tasting!! read more

Food was good enough, drinks awesome, and had a nice young man as our server who was personable and hospitable!!

My husband and I came in for lunch, everything was great! We had the falafel salad, wings, and fries. All of the food was delicious and service was on point! We were impressed with the bar, especially the bourbon options. We definitely recommend and will come back! read more

SUCH GREAT BBQ! We were visiting Boulder and wanted a fun place to go with great food. I am a lover of BBQ especially pulled pork and brisket, so of course I had to get the brisket sandwich. On sourdough bread the brisket was perfectly cooked with pickles and the right amount of mayo. We added a little extra barbecue sauce and ranch and it was out of this world. Staff was amazing and the hostess was wonderful helping us find a great table. Definitely coming back! read more

Beef tip appetizer was ALL fat. Brussels sprouts tasted like they had been sitting around all day. Corn bread was soggy and undercooked! Glass of white wine was sour...old! Martini was a single shot. Service good though, but not enough to go back... read more

Food was the big winner here. It's primarily a BBQ place, which is not obvious from the name. Busy location with a wait so I recommend a reservation. They DO have outdoor seating, which was nice, and it's right near all of the Boulder action. The cocktails were very tasty and creative. The burnt ends were delicious and I HIGHLY recommend the brisket sandwich- one of the most flavorful sandwiches I've had in a while. Server was attentive and friendly. Would definitely return. read more

My fiancée, her sister and I checked this place out for the USC/Colorado game. There are a bunch of TVs and 3 stories of seating options. The roof is great regardless of weather since more than half of it can be covered and there are heaters built into the ceiling. However, the prices were steep for the entrees and service was pretty inattentive and slow.. I feel like they were understaffed for a Saturday night. The buffalo chicken wing were super crispy and flavorful! Definitely make sure to check-in on Yelp to get some for free! read more

THE BEST PORK BELLY YOU WILL EVER EAT! My friend and I were visiting out of state so we ordered the sampler, jalapeño corn bread and tater tots (pork belly, chicken that fell off the bone and sausage)and I assure you I would've plowed through another one if I could have stomached it. We went back a second time and ordered a hamburger , it was fantastic! Stop by and give this place a try, you will not be disappointed! read more

Was excited to come here because it seemed like it had a cool vibe. However, the area we were sitting in was really dirty, silverware included. This place takes your average bar food and tries to give it a cool twist, but it doesn't exactly work. We went here for dinner and I ordered the Grilled Asparagus and Lemon Vin which I felt just didn't go and was kind of bland. I also ordered a side of French Fries which were really good and crispy - the seasoning on them was really good. My friend ordered the BBQ Pork sandwich and she said it was just OK. Drinks were reasonably priced and service was average. We were in the corner and it was harder to reach us, so that could be why. If you're just looking to sit at the bar and get a drink, this would be a good place. read more

It was a rainy day in Boulder but we needed somewhere for some apps and meals. This place hit the spot. The burnt ends were delicious and the barbecue sauce was sooo tasty. The brisket sandwich was great but skip the beans, they definitely needed more time cooking and a bit mkre flavor. The fries were good and the pickles on the sandwich were delightful. The onion soup was great but better yet the waiter gave us a sample of the soup before ordering when we asked a question about the taste. The pink lemonade was tasty and they had a good selection of drinks. Josh was our waiter and was stellar. It looks like the roof deck is pretty sweet on a nice day; I would be excited to check it out. read more

Excellent wings and chicken sandwich! Oddly was going to a nearby restaurant that happened to be closed, so yelp guided me here. Nice find! Their specialty wings were so freaking good. They had a sweet honey glaze and were smoked and flash fried. Try them. Also had a chicken sandwich that had an amazing slaw on it. Sweet potato fries to top it off. read more

Service was good but food was not great. Did not have flavor and was not enjoyable. We were seated in an area that bounced a lot when people walked by which was extremely annoying. read more

Great location and atmosphere but the food was meh. We had the pork sandwich and a veggie burger, would absolutely not recommend the burger! This spot is definitely not for those with dietary restrictions. The sandwich was okay, nothing special. Pickles and fries were my favorite part. Waitresses seemed a bit inexperienced, for example failed to let us know that adding avocado to the burger would be an upcharge of $4. We waited a while for our check besides being the only ones in the heated tent outside. I would not recommend this place for the food but would be a nice spot to enjoy a few drinks. read more

1. Would I Recommend? Yes, though we are sure there may be more authentic restaurants in Boulder, we had a good time and would pass it on as a good spot for someone visiting. 2. Food? Pretty good! The standout dish was the smoked chicken salad. Light, but satisfying, and they seem to specialize in smoked meats. That being said, the smoked platter was a bit underwhelming, with the exception of the hot links (which were awesome). 3. Atmosphere? It was the perfect place for a warm summer night; the outdoor rooftop seating, twinkle lights and good energy was great for a first night in town. 4. Service? The host and servers seemed inexperienced but friendly. 5. Experience : Cost Ratio? Slightly too expensive, but the atmosphere made up for it. Dinner for two, with beer was $70, before tip. read more

West End Tavern - Smoked platter and some brews - New American Near Me - Boulder, Colorado

What a treat!! We started with the burnt ends, green chili cornbread and dirty wings. The burnt ends were possibly the best ends I have ever had and I consider myself a bbq critic, cornbread was out of this world and the wings were perfectly crispy and tender. For entrees I had the Amigo cheesesteak and the wife had the fish and chips, hands down the best fish fry I have ever had and the best cheesesteak I have had. They shave their smoked prime rib for the cheesesteak mixed with green chilies and I think poblano peppers, out of this world. The location itself is very cool with a collection of spirits that will impress. We were in Denver for a volleyball tourney and ate twice there even though we had to drive 45 minutes to make it happen! read more

First time in Boulder, my brother took us to The West End Tavern, (his favorite bbq restaurant eatery in the country). I have to admit, I was hesitant to have bbq; however, our waiter assured me of my order and he nailed it. Kenny was super helpful when explaining the menu and we ordered the dirty wings (Kenny's favorite) and they were delicious! I would 100% recommend this to Boulder locals and visitors. The beer list is great, the service is wonderful and the food is amazing. Looking forward to my next trip to West End Tavern. read more

Unfortunately our whole experience here was disappointing. It took forever for our drinks to come, even though we could see them sitting ready to go at the bar. When someone finally brought them they explained they had to go get more lemonade to finish the drink. During the meal, there were 4 servers chatting at the bar and not once did any of them look up to see if we needed anything. We had to interrupt their conversation to order a second beer, it felt like they were annoyed by this request. After ordering the beer, the bartender filled the glass, and then let it sit on the bar and disappeared. When a server eventually came to our table, we told her to cancel the second beer since it was taking forever even though it was sitting on the bar. Eventually the bartender returned and said he had to switch the kegs. A little communication upfront would have made this a much more pleasant experience. To top it off, food was terrible too- dry meat with no flavor. Way over-priced as well. read more

Service was horrible, but waitress was friendly. Bar wasn't busy and we had already been served our hard clam strips (they were more like pieces) before drinks arrived. Burger was dry and fries were cold. This was our second visit but it appears the service there is always slow so we won't be back. read more

When you walk into West End the first things you notice are that it is dark, and cheap looking. They have a bunch of beers on tap, but that is their only redeeming quality. We stopped here the other day for a late lunch and all agreed that it was one of the worst places we've been to, food and service wise. We were first sat at a booth that hadn't been cleaned so we asked to move. Our waitress was incredibly rude, rolled her eyes at us multiple times, and forgot one order then proceeded to blame it on us. I didn't eat here because there were no options for me, being a vegan, however the waitress was really disrespectful when I asked questions about the food and if there was something I could eat. She continued to come up behind us and just stare at each of us then walk away without saying anything. It was really weird and we have never experienced this type of service. I ended up leaving half-way through the meal. For my friends that did eat, they said the food was okay. They did really enjoy the sauces that were at the table, but the food itself wasn't out of this world. With so many other incredible places on Pearl Street, you could very easily pick something much better! read more

The ambiance inside this place is amazing. Low light, cozy and personal energy! Amazing music! Friendly staff that seemed like they were one big family! The menu had craft sliders, burgers, sandwiches, fries and other "tavern" type food. I was a little disappointed in the lack of variety on the menu. Was hoping for more sides (a la carte) or entrees. My boyfriend was blown away by their classic burger however! He would 10/10 recommend! I ordered some potatoes and bourbon banana pudding made w snickerdoodle cookies. Soooooo delicious and rich! read more

FOOD IS DELICIOUS!!! We have traveled all over the country and eat barbecue from many different states, this is the best we have had so far!! The staff was incredibly friendly, I really appreciated feeling like I had time to sit and eat. Many places will make you feel rushed to leave, but the staff here really made us feel welcome. They even made me a spiked lemonade which wasn't on the menu! We had the goat cheese fondue for appetizer and it was SO GOOD! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good local meats, brews, and liquors! read more

Perfect place for happy hour! My fiancé and I stopped in just before the end of happy hour and grabbed seats at the bar. The staff was super friendly and they changed the channel so we could watch the NFL game that was on. The happy hour special was great and we ordered the fries extra well done. Wished we hadn't had dinner before we came because the place smelled great and tons of people were coming in and out of the place. Would love to try this place again for dinner! read more

When I read in several places that WET has the best local bbq in Boulder, I admit to being suspicious, traditionally seeking out hole in the wall places for that purpose. But, indeed, this is the best bbq I've had in Boulder and Denver. Classic KC style burnt ends, with the tastiest, freshest coleslaw, washed down with a craft beer. Don't forget to dive into Boulder's best whiskey bar, or maybe best on the planet. read more

This restaurant has some fun decor, very mountain pub style. But it doesn't have that 'coming home' welcoming atmosphere. Every time my SO and I have eaten here the staff are just strange, always staring and waiting/forgetting to take our food or drinks order. The food is good, but the last two times we both had major indigestion. read more

I wanted to eat bison burger and yelped and came here. It was quite good (not as good as 520 Grill in Aspen..but still 4 stars!). Also yelp check-in gives you 3 free chicken wings! The service is very friendly! read more

Decided on this place for lunch when we were in town as it received so many good reviews on Yelp. Let me say it did not disappoint! We sat upstairs, which looks like it can become all open up there when its warmer out as the windows can all roll up. Our waitress was so friendly and was always checking on us. I ordered their Shrimp Po Boy- ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, along side with their brussel sprouts (recommended by the server) and they were GREAT, they were seasoned perfectly and worth the $1 up charge. My husband ordered their special that day which was their Lamb-wich with fries. He loved it, and said it was excellent. We also received 3 free buffalo chicken wings when checking in on yelp, so we had those for our appetizer and being from buffalo we know a good wing when we taste it- and they were very very good! They also have a good beer menu to order from as we both also had some beers which were delicious. I highly recommend this to others to go and check out. Id love to go back! read more

My girlfriend was craving some BBQ so I went on Yelp and found this place had the best/ most well rounded reviews. A couple aspects during our visit made it an amazing experience. I will elaborate, but the short version is: fast seating, great service, awesome, filling food that's reasonably priced. We arrived and was immediately greeted by a hostess who seated us right away at a booth, it was hot that day so we didn't wait for a rooftop table. The ambience is on the dim side, with lights at each table. Classic guitar songs in the background was a nice touch. It felt private and intimate, and it was easy to converse and hear each other at the table. Our waitress, Brittney, saw me checking in on Yelp and offered to get the free wings (from the check-in) ready before I said anything or ordered any food! When our food arrived (BBQ pork sandwich on a brioche bun with fries, Mac & Cheese, smashed potatoes & onions, and pulled pork platter) Brittney explained the two house BBQ sauces, one's ketchup based, the other is mustard based. They were both great and tangy. The fries were crispy and there was a lot. The house made pickles were unique and fresh tasting. We finished all of them. The Mac & cheese was good and my girlfriend devoured the sandwich. The pulled pork was good but one of my favorites is the cole slaw. I don't like the traditional mayo kind, and the one I ate had crisp apple and fresh herbs. I finished it before my pulled pork! The wings were another highlight. They were flavor and the skin was crispy. My girlfriend who doesn't usually eat wings had three. We got both the buffalo & the dirty (honey, chile, & garlic). The servers were attentive but never bothersome. The manger even stopped by to ask how the food was! The whole experience was very comfy and satisfying. Definitely recommend and will be back! read more

Wait time for a Friday night wasn't too bad (30 min), but was worth it. Drinks were above par, reasonably priced, & service was great on Wednesday night, still good on Friday night (considering the workload). Food on Wednesday night was outSTANDING, Friday night appears to have suffered a bit (temperature-wise) from being extra busy, but other than that it was excellent! Buffalo burger, brussells sprouts, sirloin w greens & potatoes were all AMAZING! Will definitely be back. read more
