    Pulled Pork Sandwich
    Michael P.

Newly renovated, change of ownership, been around for 50 years... I went in with a little hope. That hope was crushed to dust that resembled the brisket you see on my review. An 8oz portion of brisket is $18, and that's what I was served. The guy working the smoker put bark from the wood splits that he was burning on my platter by mistake - oh never mind, that WAS beef.. The expressionless gentleman working asked us how everything was to which I answered "the brisket was terrible. Dry, hard, it was cut with the grain..", everything was wrong. He comped it, so I didn't pay for it, thank God. That aside, the pulled pork sandwich was also aggressively dry, but edible with some sauce. But, pork and a bun and... That's it? No coleslaw? No pickles? If you're giving pork and a bun it better be some dang good pork.. I don't have much else to say. The dining room was actually awesome but the goodness stopped at that. My brother in law got ribs.. They were undercooked and overcooked. They weren't cooked long enough for the meat to bite cleanly off the bone and before they serve them, they sliced the ribs individually and sauced them.. Then maybe broiled, or set back on the smoker. An absolute mistake because now they're dried out on the sides. This place is terrible, should close down and for the love of all that is good, pour gasoline on your smoker and set it ablaze and never look back. No one here deserves to operate one.

I stopped by this place to get some food to bring home. The total came to $60 which wasn't that bad for 3 people. It took about an hour or so! Crazy! I also ordered 3 extra onion rolls to go with the meal because it was needed. The 3 rolls cost me an extra $26.00 WTF REALLY??!! It looked like someone jumped on them!! Anyways- I sent an email to the business and stated I wasn't happy for 3 flattened rolls @ $26 bucks. He/she whoever wrote back agreed w/ me that the cost was definitely wrong. They asked for the 2nd receipt which I could not find! I only had the 1st receipt for some reason. I asked if they could see it off their computer because it was literally 5mins after the 1st order. I got ZERO replied back! A good business owner/manager would try to make this matter right! Send a gift card or something. Even if it was for 10 bucks! We will never go back!!! Horrible service!!!!

Plenty of parking. Beautiful space, friendly service. I had a BbQ pulled pork taco and a BBQ chicken tacos. Great tender, juicy and great flavor! A fun spin on a street tacos!! I highly recommend!

The food was fabulous. The service was amazing and I love the ambience of the fireplace TV. The only ingredient you need to bring is good people.

    A $14 fish sandwich

Been here twice. Both times, were disappointing. First time, shame on a buddy of mine for speaking highly of this place. (This was around 2009). Second time, shame on me for giving them a second chance. (This time was 3/2025). I am usually a one and done once I have a bad experience. The food was super mediocre the first time and it seemed to be the same this second time around. I will give them credit on being consistent. I want to share with you, the reader, so you don't make the same mistake I did. I spent $14 on what I thought would be a nice piece of catfish but ended up being some school lunch fish stick. I understand that inflation has affected us all. I get that. But man, I feel like I paid $14 for a Calise Bulkie roll, coleslaw with a side of 1 fish stick. I could have gone to price rite and picked up all of these ingredients for less and have it taste better. So disappointing. I wish Wes Rib House nothing but the best. Safe to say I learned my lesson.

Had a great experience tonight here. We were a party of 14 and the service was on point. We pretty much ordered everything on the menu and it was all delicious. Definitely need to come a check it out Bonus is that they have a little arcade with pinball machines!!!

Came here for 2025 #rifoodfights #lordofthewing tour. Had buffalo wings. Tasted fine, would have liked a little more sauce. Brisket sandwich was tasty, along with the loaded fries. Service could have been a little better. Was not busy and just took long time.

Stop number 4 on the @rifoodfights #lordofthewings challenge: @wesribhouse. I was very excited to try this as I skipped lunch so I could have room for their ribs. They have been in Prividence for 50+ years but they were not on my radar - which I am disappointed in myself, as I love BBQ. The bartender recommends the hot honey wing BUT I decide to go with the house BBQ sauce as I assume it is made in house. I was not disappointed. The sauce was not overpowering and complemented the smokey flavor of the wing. The wings were a little crispy. I would have preferred more "crisp" but I suspect that is the trade off for that smoked flavor. A lot of meat on the bone and little fat. Another solid entry! The ribs were very good. Pork ribs (not baby back, so big. I got a quarter rack and it was enough!). Great flavor. I added a bit of their hot bbq sauce and enjoyed the experience. I also had the collard greens, cole slaw, and corn bread. I was stuffed (and left a bit I couldn't finish. Bonus: there was a flyer for @improvpig in the entrance!

The weekdays are easier to get a table or bar seat. I love all the burgers, wings, hot dogs and shakes (Boozy or regular). Cons: I basically love everything on the menu EXCEPT the crinkle fries and the taco salad. (The crinkle fires I never liked but I am starting to see them more in some bars. They seem to not as crunchy as the regular fries and hold more grease including being more mushy then crunchy as mentioned before. The taco is like a Salsa salad which greens and Salsa. The taste is not bad but it becomes a wet salad). Pros: Everything else on the menu fantastic! My favorites: Turkey burger , mushroom burger, providence burger bar special, chili cheese hot dog, fried Mac and cheese, Strawberry Shake with a frozen fruit INCLUDING the Garlic Parmesan Buffalo wings. The only place I know can do hot dogs this great besides wieners from Olneyville and Babbas! Service: Incredible and friendly service. RI food fights brought me in and you don't get access to the whole sandwich menu here, unfortunately you have to pick between their "Mushroom Bahn MI" and their "Screaming BLT". I went with the BLT since I wasn't feeling the vegan option. The description was "chili-hoisin glazed bacon | sliced tomato baby greens tomato jam | dill pickle pickled red onion chipotle aioli toasty thick-sliced white bread". Honestly, it was underwhelming. It had some tasty components but it was pretty average. The bacon was terribly weak. It was probably frozen precooked bacon that is heated and brushed with a hoisen glaze. I was hoping for some thick cut glazed almost candied bacon. Their avg. sandwich was around $16-17. If paying for that, I'd be left pretty disappointed. On top of that, it probably took around 35-40 minutes to get the sandwich. Again, pretty okay sandwich, the pickled onion, tomato jam and Chipotle aioli elevated things, but it's in vain with the bacon they use. Their other sandwiches sound good, so it's possible I'll visit to try them out at some point but can't see myself running back here after my impression with this BLT.

I mean, when you're ordering a vegan meal, I assumed fries would come as a standard side. The portion sizes for two were also a bit disappointing. The sandwiches themselves were tasty, but the burger was kind of lost under an overwhelming amount of sauce--even though I'll admit, the sauce was pretty satisfying on its own. Serving veganized versions of traditional pub fare, the food is excellent. I was especially pleased with the buffalo cauliflower bites. The breading was legit (and kind of reminded me of getting fried seafood by the sea as a kid). This was robust, crunchy, and flavorful - a far cry from the barely-covered-in-panko stuff I have gotten at other places. I had the Philly "cheesesteak," which was a tasty sandwich that really did riff on the old classic. My husband did a lettuce-wrapped truffle burger, and that might be the only place that I paused because absent the bun, you can see just how little the serving is. They also have sushi from the Make Out available, and I did a tomato tuna nigiri that was tops. I want to come back just for the sushi. The service was a little slow, but our server made a point to apologize thank us for our patience. She was just really busy, but she was also very upbeat and cognizant of making people wait. I don't often encounter many servers like that - she seemed to be legitimately happy to be there. They have a great beer selection, including plenty of draft, and they also have wine and cocktails available. First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening.
