I came to YAS Chicken on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't crowded when we first arrived. Once you walk in, you order at the counter and then grab a seat. There are countertop seats and tables. Once your order is ready, they will call your name. We ordered the YAS supreme, parmesan crispy tots, cheesy chick, and a fountain drink. Our total was $26.81 not including tip. It took a little while for our order to be ready. I think the staff were still figuring out their workflows. The YAS supreme is their signature fried chicken with spicy garlic glaze, coleslaw, pickle & drizzled with YAS sauce. It was really tasty and I really enjoyed it. The crispy tots were crispy and not soggy. Everything was very filling. After a while, a big group that looked like they were celebrating a birthday came and took over a big table. I could envision the restaurant being very crowded with big groups. I think the food was a little overpriced, but still worth a try.

Stopped in around 2 pm on a Saturday afternoon. After reading all the reviews I thought for sure there would be a wait. Fortunately there were only a couple people inside the establishment. Leslie the cheerful cashier took our orders and we had them in minutes. The gyozos were delicious as were the chicken and waffles and the Yas Supreme. I'm happy I tried it out and will definitely go back!

This is my second order from YAAS. I discovered it on DoorDash when I was working late. Tender, juicy, crispy, flavorful!! Light airy and crispy coating. Meals are served with delicious fries and a fountain drink. $15.00. Dining in, they call your name out. Food is served is brown box, sealed with $1.00 sauces of your choice. Honey Mustard is my favorite. Decor is cute, and simple. Customer Service is friendly and professional. One more visit this summer for the chicken and waffles!!

Walking in.. the restaurant was very clean and we were greeted with a friendly and hospitable hello. Since it was our first time here, we wanted to try a bite of everything! For starters.. The Seafood Rangoons were a nice balance of sweet and savory with a fresh flaky-crispy crust! The Korean CornDogs were an interesting blend of flavors with a surprise mozzarella stick for the first couple bites.. not sure I'd have again but glad I tried it! For the main event, we shared everything. The #2 - Yasville Hot was savory/spicy and the chicken breast was thick and moist. The #8 - The Duo waffle was my favorite.. with bites of bacon, savory battered chicken the crisp waffle to dunk in the side of syrup. My exact quote: "When I have chicken and waffles this is what I expect it to taste like!". The Truffle Mac and Cheese was tasty but reminded me more of pasta and truffle cream sauce. On the way out, we made sure to fill up on a soda refill for the walk around Thayer St. Will be back!

Great fried chicken in Providence. It is situated right on top of another place that also serves fried chicken, make sure you're walking UP the stairs and not down. You won't be disappointed. Mac was like it came right out of Louisiana. Thick, hearty, and full of flavor. Korean corn dog was a fun treat. But that sandwich, tender on the inside, fluffy crunchy on the outside, and a great sauce to smother it in. If you don't check this place out you're missing something wonderful. (The sandwich pics got lost in the sauce)

YAS Chicken Ratings: 4.5/5 Food: 4.75/5 - I was traveling to RI and stumble upon this fried chicken spot and was so excited to check it out. Despite the negative reviews, I was still willing to try it, and they definitely exceeded my expectations. Please read my descriptions below for a more detailed review. - Mac Zaddy [GET]: This chicken sandwich was surprisingly delicious. It's a spicy garlic glazed fried chicken topped with mac and cheese. The chicken itself is perfectly fried, crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. It's huge and super messy to eat, but definitely worth it. Mac and cheese are creamy and chewy, and I love the sauces that comes with it, really brings everything together. The bread was soft and buttery, wonderfully toasted as well. And that truffle fries, crispy and crunchy, very truffle-forward, I am obsessed! - Chicken Tenders [GET]: I got 12 pcs chicken tenders, and they were huge. You definitely need to share this one. Tenders are well-seasoned and lightly battered, nicely fried, and the inside is super moist and juicy. You need to eat it with their YAS sauce, its bussin. - Waffles [GET]: You know I had to get something sweet as well to end my meal. These waffles were so delicious and topped with cinnamon and powdered sugar. They came out piping hot and fresh, literally some of the most airy, doughy, and fluffy ones I've had. I love that the edges are slightly crunchy with a nice crisp. It comes with maple syrup on the side too. Ambiance: 4.25/5 - The ambiance is what you would expect at a fried chicken spot. There's a good amount of seating area for us to dine-in and chill. The interior is quite clean and well-kept. I think it's a perfect spot if you are looking for something fast and casual, like in in and out lunch or dinner spot too. Price: 4.75/5 - I thought the prices were very reasonable here. I got the Mac Zaddy sandwich combo for $14.99, which comes with a drink and fries. A 12 count chicken tenders for $20.99, and a side of waffles for $5.99 all pre-tax. Portions are huge, and I was able to have some leftovers too. Service: 4.25/5 - All the staffs there were quite friendly, welcoming, and super willing to help. The ordering process was quite seamless and easy too, and it didn't take long at all, roughly 15 minutes after ordering. You can also order online in advance to prevent rush hour or busier times. BLUF: If you are craving for a good fried chicken sandwich, YAS is the spot to hit up when you are in the area. Personally, I think it's a hidden gem, where you can find something that you will enjoy. I highly recommend their Mac Zaddy combo, and their waffles for sure! I will return next time when I'm in the area for their Korean corn dogs and other menu items.

The Duo - cut in half to share with hubby

We had heard good things about YAS Chicken then Sweet Deals had it on sale - hubby bought $25 for $50. We ordered takeout & everything was delicious. I selected the YAS O.G. - the original fried chicken sandwich, lettuce, pickles & homemade mayo. It was a good-sized piece of chicken, perfectly fried & juicy. I loved the slight sweetness of the mayo & the bun held everything together. Simple yet well executed. Hubby went with The Suffering - fried chicken, lettuce, pickles & extremely spicy homemade sauce. He also thought the chicken was great but he didn't think it was very spicy so he munched a fresh jalapeño from the fridge with his sandwich. We got "The Duo" to share - waffle buns, savory fried chicken, bacon, sweet mayo & syrup with an extra container of hot sauce. I am a HUGE fan of sweet with heat & savory so this was right up my alley. We will definitely be back again!

This review is solely based on the quality of the food. Since this place just opened up, it's expected to have a long wait line and unfinished interior as mentioned in many reviews. I will not be holding these factors against them. The breading of the chicken is pretty well seasoned and a lot spicier than I thought it would be. I enjoy spicy so it was good for me but if you're sensitive to heat, be prepared with some water. I ordered the 3 piece chicken tenders, and I think it's a good portion of chicken for one person. The chicken is juicy on the inside and white meat. I did not like that the breading with starting to come off on some spots and a bit soggy. I also tried the chicken sandwich with the Mac and cheese. It's a good combination but the mac and cheese is a bit bland and didn't have enough to balance the flavor of the chicken. I would recommend more Mac and cheese. The fries are good, not excellent. The yas sauce is great. I'm not sure of all the ingredients but it tasted like a seasoned mayo and ketchup. I would come again to try a few of the sandwiches they have but once the hype dies down. I was a bit disappointed they didn't have wings at this location because I think the seasoning of the chicken has potential to taste really good on wings.

This is a must if you love spicy chicken sandwiches. I'm obsessed with the supreme sandwich topped with spicy soy garlic sauce and coleslaw. I'm also addicted to their truffle fries with the yas sauce (tots are also good if you like tots more than fries). Chicken and waffles were also great. Waffles can be a dessert as well, they were so doughy and sweet! Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time recently and it was delicious. The food was hot and fresh and definitely the best fried chicken we've had. The honey mustard and the buffalo sauce were delicious and tasted home made. The place was clean and chill. Definitely nice to sit and hangout.

    Irene M.

I was not impressed with the chicken. It was a large piece of chicken but it was underwhelming. There was no spice to it and very bland. The staff was nice and informative about the menu. The Korean corn dog was not good, whatever they put on it made it taste very nasty. I feel like you can get a better chicken sandwich elsewhere

After all, when it's cold like this...I have a tendency to find a bakery in the morning and go very carb-heavy with a nice hot mug of brewed tea or coffee. As I walked up, I was immediately awed by the snow covered outdoor patio. It was beautifully covered in a light layer of snow (obviously unused due to the weather) with little birds all fluffed up and perched atop some of the chairs. They sure looked like little caretakers of the area and were a very cute sight! Walking through the door immediately transported me out of the elements into a very warm and comfortable zone filled with the scent of freshly baked bread and pastries and fresh coffee grounds. Both happy and awake banter as well as sleepy groans enveloped the room. You could hear the staff buzzing around moving pastries and firing up fresh brews for those in line. It's pretty awake in here compared to everything else outside. Stepping up to look at the baked options on the front counter, I was greeted by one of the friendliest voices I've heard in a while. She was so cheerful that I couldn't help but wonder if it's the coffee or tea they serve here or the potent pastries lining the display shelves. Well, whatever it is, I definitely want what she had! I settled for a dirty chai and a couple of pastries and sat on one of the high tops beside my little feathery friends staring in from outside. Each sip divine. Each bite absolutely lovely. Even chatted with an older gentleman with the coolest indigenous soft cloth coat beside me. Everyone was friendly. Everyone was kind. They sure are not the usual sleepy and grumpy breakfast spot. The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish.
