I live in the area and go to Wegman's frequently and rarely disappointed. However, after having their handcarved Thanksgiving dinner and finding little reviews online prior to ordering it, I was compelled to write a review to help others in the future. Had to order Thanksgiving dinner this year because in the process of moving. Was originally going to order the Traditional Turkey Dinner feeding 8-10 for $85. However, when talking to Wegman's catering employee and telling her I have 6 people for dinner she recommended the more expensive $105 Hand Carved Turkey Dinner for 5-6 people. She stated that the sides are not frozen, unlike the $85 dinner, and made in-house and therefore fresh. The picture in the catalog looked like a whole turkey that was carved, i.e.. two legs, two wings, and two breasts. I asked how many pounds and she said 6-8. I thought okay a smaller turkey, but a fresh meal. Boy were we disappointed. It was one leg, one wing, and one breast (carved), pre-cooked, a stick of rosemary and a tiny container of garlic smelling herb oil on the side. I brushed the turkey with the herb oil and heated it up at 350F for 45 minutes. Turkey was bland, would have added my own spices if I know the herb oil wasn't enough. Sides were also bland, the only good side was the orange cranberry relish. Sides were whipped potatoes, herb stuffing, green beans amandine, roasted butternut squash, gravy, and cranberry orange relish. Prior to choosing Wegman's saw great reviews for Whole Foods turkey dinner and decided to go with Wegman's because figured the quality would be about the same and it's a closer drive for me. Next year, if I have to order, will try Whole Foods dinner instead. Stay away from the Wegman's pre-order turkey dinners. The turkey sold in the rotisserie area Thanksgiving morning near the chicken tasted soooo much better, is fully cooked and cheaper than the pre-ordered turkey dinners. read more

The best grocery store ever! Better than Whole Foods and dare I say Trader Joe's (and I like tTJ). Wegmans has literally everything a grocery store could have, from the hard to find food items, exotic foods, organic varieties, to the excellent selection of fruits, veggies.... I could go on and on. In terms of sushi and baked goods/desserts, they also beat any grocery store that I have ever visited, in terms of taste and quality. This place is the best. The only down side is the large crowds.... but I guess everyone else is clued in! read more

Went to the new Montvale NJ store 2 weeks after the grand opening. I don't see what all the excitement is about. The open buffets are a breeding ground for germs. The deli is horrible, the store brand turkey was soak and wet. The ham was folded like a wrinkled shirt and still had the plastic wrapping mixed in with it. The store brand yogurt had no flavor. My dog turned her nose at it. What a waste of beautiful farm land. Will never go back. read more

I have written a review before, but it was for the store as a whole. This one is strictly for the pharmacy at Wegmans Dulles. I came to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions probably 35 minutes prior to the pharmacy closing. I had issues with my insurance, and it took a while because of the complexity of getting it resolved and the prescription was left as a partial, but I needed the full prescription. The pharmacy tech that worked with me was as pleasant as can be. Patient, and friendly. Dina, you rock!! I happened to be the last customer of the night and I felt bad that mine had to be complicated. Dina handled the transaction with ease, and was awesome! If the management at this store and pharmacy actually read this, I would appreciate it if Dina got recognized for her hard work and exceptional customer service. They stayed open a little later than scheduled, and for that, I am very grateful. Like my last review of this store, I commend the pharmacy folks as well. Everyone there is fantastic!!! This is yet another reason I love Wegmans!!! read more

Wegmans was an exciting place to shop when I started shopping there in 2007. They did bread samples which I liked and they used to package bakery items for you, such as tarts when purchasing. $6.00 meals are no longer hot..you have to microwave them now which was when I stopped buying them. Nothing is personal anymore and the prices have surged on a lot of items. The "helping hands " don't appear to be too present anymore to escort you to you car with your groceries. Now that U scans have taken over, there's no service anywhere anymore. I don't shop there anywhere near like I used to. It used to be something special, but not anymore. read more

Wegmans Sterling offers a wide selection of groceries and food to choose from. However, I feel that they need to work on their hygiene as I have often found flies hovering over the cooked food. A dead fly once turned up in my Caesar Salad and I was really disgusted. There is also a very rude and young Asian woman behind the $6/meal counter and if you see her there just try to avoid that section altogether. Otherwise most of the other staff is polite and competent. read more

Wegmans is the very best grocery store there is...perfection! They have it down, from customer service to the freshest produce and best selection of products to their prices (we've done much comparison shopping between other grocery stores)! What I have to rave about in this review, though, is their iPhone app. My husband and I both have this on our phones and add what we need to on Wegmans app grocery list--our list syncs up so that we can see what each other has added and we can scan the barcodes of items as we run out of them to have these immediately added to our list. Then, the best part is that we choose our store (we go to either the Dulles or Leesburg Wegmans since we're about the same distance from both) and our list is categorized by the aisle that the product is located in, making shopping a breeze! If you've ever been to a Wegmans--any of them--you know they are chock full of people (think shopping cart traffic jam), so being able to zip from aisle to aisle in order of what you need is definitely a perk. :) read more

Wegman's is the poster child for what a grocery store should be. They have excellent prepared foods that can be enjoyed on site or carried out. The meat. fish. cheese and produce are outstanding. The staff in all the stores are polite, well informed and very helpful. I travel a great deal and find Wegman's my favorite store. I cook with my wife to relax and escape from out intense legal professions. I especially appreciate being able to find all the ingredients needed for a recipe in one store. read more

I used to really like this store, but it has gone downhill. In fairness, I don't think they can keep up with demand-often times the shelves are empty. They are constantly re-organizing the store to try and get you to buy more, and THAT is incredibly annoying. Although Wegmans has a large selection, and generally good prices, the clientele at this location is what really makes it a pain. Lots of stay-at-home moms who show absolutely no awareness that there is anyone else in the store. I am glad to be moving soon so that this is no longer the only decent grocery store in my area. read more

In general, Wegmans is fantastic. This Sterling location, however, is about a half step above the others I've been to. The quality of the food is great, the prices are decent, and you have a much better parking lot than the Wegmans and Fairfax. I will start my critique by saying that I love Wegmans! However, I had a a bad experience today, Monday before Christmas on Sunday. I went to the meat market to order a roast for pickup on Friday. The guy behind the counter was cleaning his work area, so I waited for him to finish wiping the counter, only for him to TOTALLY ignore me standing in front of him! He never acknowledged me until I loudly asked him if I was at the right place to place an order. He then said they stopped taking orders 2 days ago. No sign or any information displayed to let costumers know. And he was not very forthcoming with any information until I initiated the question. So, I took my business elsewhere and I will be having my roast for Christmas!! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! It has been so long since I was able to truly enjoy a grocery shop at a Wegmans, after living in the Richmond area for the last three years. I had to come to the Sterling store because it keeps later hours than the more convenient Leesburg Wegmans, but it wasn't a disappointment. If I had a complaint it's that I somehow got the loudest cart ever, but I could've fixed that on my own. The store is plentiful and has the full range of products for every type of shopper. My list of needs for the night included q-tips, tea tree oil and something to snack on. They had everything on the list and I was asked at least once if I needed any help by the staff on hand, which was great. I don't know that I'll be returning to this particular Wegmans in the future, unless the closer/more convenient Wegmans is closed, but this place was just as good as any other Wegmans (even the one in Dale City)! read more

I love grocery shopping in general, but grocery shopping at Wegmans is what I imagine a grocery store in heaven would be like. They have combined the best of common household products (at reasonable prices), with great produce, wide array of staple food vendors, delicious prepared delights and specialty food section that is not as comprehensive as whole foods but is damn close. I think that the subs are a really good value (5 bucks and they don't taste like dog tongue- sorry subway). The only items that I don't care for in the prepared section is the rotisserie chicken (stay away from this dried out salty mess) and the sushi (I think that the fish quality is fine they just overkill with the rice). The bread and baked goods though are the best that you will find at any other grocery store. They make them fresh throughout the day, so the one you take home won't be 12 hours old and ready for the birds. My favorite section in Wegmans has to be the olive bar/wine/cheese section. This part of the store always draws me in an tempts me. The wines are offered at all price points and the hummus is great for prepared hummus. Oh I nearly forgot about the florist, seasonal merchandise, child care center, photo-center, pharmacy, movies and insane candy isle. Wegmans really does have it all. read more

Wegman's s great, but this location is Phenom!!!! Always kind, always clean, and I can always get hard to find specialty items. It does not get better than this. I've shopped at Wegmans for a very long time now. Every since this one opened (though I waited about 2 months after it was open to go there). Great selection and on top of that they are willing to special order anything you want (as long as you are willing to pay for it). Very clean and people friendly place. As an Asian, I am very use to places that smells. Wegmans keep their place clean and neat, on top of that you don't smell the cleaning solution (which is a huge plus in my book). Now the down side is that this place is not cheap. I understand why. Most groceries stores are low in profit. Wegmans is huge, they want to do lots of volume business. They do have some great deals though. So, like anything else, you need to be a great shoppers to find the best deal. Be prepare for long lines during major holidays (especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas). They have gotten better with traffic as they have police directing traffic during those holidays. read more

Wegmans is quite awesome. This particular one in Sterling is, from what I have heard, the highest grossing store in the Wegmans company. Most other grocery stores couldn't dream of having a kids center, movie nights, a whole prepared foods section, and a second story. I have read some posters comments on this Wegmans stating that the prices are a little high. This is far from the truth. On average, Wegmans has prices 15% lower than Giant. This figure is comparing the general grocery store products between the two companies, like milk, cereal, yogurt, chips, ect. The place where you could end up spending more money at Wegmans would be the prepared foods section. Most people tend to go overboard when shopping in this section, for example, the Asian Wokery is $7.99 a pound and it is not uncommon for customers to load up 2 pounds of food into the containers, and then to be shocked when they realize their total is around $15. read more

The food selection is the best and the bakery as well. Good prices in general. I have been shopping here for many years now and used to love this place and actually enjoy visiting. It is more of a chore now with the traffic in and out of the lot and the access road. The shelf layouts keep changing so it seems to take longer to find what I used to find easily. I have asked the management now twice to do something about the aisles being too narrow and congested and it seems to be getting worse especially around the produce aisle and a few others causing too many cart collisions and frustrated shoppers. I have also asked for a few items to be restocked that I purchase regularly and it just doesn't happen. I recently tried to buy a couple of gift cards and one of the cashier managers advised that she had to call my credit card company which I was later advised was not true at all. Again, very frustrating and a reflection of poor management. I asked for the store manager (Ross, I think) to call me to discuss and he had someone else return the call but still no action has been taken. I love the Wegmans brand but will probably make the longer drive to the Leesburg store which is better managed and easier to navigate. read more
