I was in need of a replacement toilet so I checked Yelp for some suggestions on a good plumber to do the job. I was impressed by the positive comments about Wedgeworth Plumbing so I filled out the Yelp form to request a quote. (Note: If you want to get a quote, don't bother with the Yelp form. Just pick up the phone and call them directly! All the Yelp form does is add a delay in response time!) Within a couple of days I had a plumber (and his apprentice) at my home to check out what I needed. They gave me a reasonable price estimate and let me know there might be additional cost if the flange under the toilet needed repair or replacement. Because their quoted price was reasonable I decided to go ahead with them for the work. They were able to schedule the work quickly and the plumber came back, new toilet in hand, and did a quality job! The flange was in good shape so I avoided the extra expense I had been warned about. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work Wedgeworth did for me, and I'll be calling them again the next time I need a plumber. read more

Rex and his team wrecked the tile in my bath. I bought a midcentury house and needed the galvanized pipes in the attic replaced with PEX. Wedgeworth informed me I would need to buy a new water heater, and new shower heads/handles as they couldn't hook up the original vintage handles to the new system. To change out the bath taps, they busted a huge hole in the tile and left sizeable gaps covered in some sort of grout/caulk the tile should be instead of replacing or repairing the tile. It looks awful. Most of the frustrations of this experience have faded into the past but I'm still steaming about how I paid them thousands of dollars to ruin my house. Avoid. read more

I'm not somebody that leaves 1-star reviews. Normally I give at least two stars, even my experience was pretty bad. I'm leaving one star because I just really, really wish I had never called Wedgeworth Plumbing. I called Wedgeworth because--why not?--they had good reviews. Well I had a few problems. First, I found out later that they are more expensive than a lot of the other plumbers in the area for the same job. Wedgeworth charged me $225 to snake my drain (two different times) Beacon charged me $160 Wedgeworth charged me $225 to run a camera Beacon didn't charge me Wedgeworth quoted $3250 for concrete pipe replacement Beacon quoted $2560 for the same thing The second problem was with the quality of the work. Wedgeworth didn't use a locator when they ran the camera. That's bad, because they were marking with white paint where to dig up the pipe. If I had gone with Wedgeworth to replace my pipe, they may have dug in the wrong place! When Beacon ran a camera the next day, they said a plumber should never run a camera without a locator like Wedgeworth did. There were some other small things Beacon pointed out on the camera that Wedgeworth missed. The third problem was that Wedgeworth didn't honor their price--at least not at first. After they ran the camera, they quoted me for the concrete pipe replacement and scheduled me for the next day. They agreed to credit me back for the camera and snake ($450 off) since the pipe replacement was such a big job. However, when they showed up the next day to start the job, they were not willing to honor that anymore. I told them that would be a problem so they called their boss. While they were on the phone I started calling other plumbers, and I'm glad I found someone else (Beacon Plumbing). I told Wedgeworth to cancel the job for pipe replacement. Like I said, I just really wish I had never called Wedgeworth. TL;DR Call Beacon Plumbing instead. read more

They of course did a pretty good job. I had them install our water conditioner for us. The actual water conditioner was loose and leaked when they were done setting it up and they didn't really bother to fix it so they unhooked it and told me to call them back when I got it figured out. When I called them back I suggested to just lay it on the floor to get a better grip of the bottom in order to tighten it which worked. read more

Long story short, I'd been in plumbing hell for months, mainly due to toilets clogging. Ended up being roots in drain that TJ scoped out and took care of. Erica was super professional, friendly and sympathetic when I made appointment. TJ was able to get out the next day. Hopefully, no more overflow surprises. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the price since toilet had to be pulled, camera used to find clog and then main drain cleaned out, eliminating most of the root issue. I had a water leak underground right outside the house where the pipe leads inside. My trusty handyman I've used for years had too many jobs, so I had to call someone else. My brother used Wedgeworth before, and he was pleased with the quality of their work. So, I scheduled an appointment with them. Two guys (James and another guy) came out a week later. It was a total joke. They walked back and forth poking here and there, and about 20 minutes later, they told me it's not the plumbing problem, but it was the sprinkler system leaking somewhere. And they don't do sprinkler system. Charged me $192 just to replace a spigot. So, I took their words for it and scheduled a sprinkler system guy visit. Luckily, my handyman was finally available and came by. He dug just a little down, which the Wedgeworth guys never bothered to do, and guess what? It had nothing to do with the sprinkler system. It was the main pipe leading from outside into the house that was oozing water. The sprinkler system appointment was cancelled, and now my handyman guy is going to fix this. I am so happy with the experience I had with this Company I had to share. I had the most awful smell in my downstairs bathroom. So bad even with the door closed it smelled. Had one company come out and wanted to pull the toilet up and replace the wax seal and do some sort of smoke test. Their estimate was $971. I called Wedgeworth Plumber for a second opinion because of there good reviews. They sent a gentleman named Damondrick Bennett. The problem was caused by a rubber accordion style pipe connected to the p-trap. He poured Bleach and hot water down the drain and the smell is gone. He said soap scum built up in that kind of pipe causing that awful smell. Charged $49.00 I highly recommend this company and that Plumber saved us a lot of money. read more

I called them to replace a 12 foot section of pipe in my attic that had a slow leak. They quoted me over $1000 to do the job. The company I ended up using charged me $300 and it took them 90 minutes to do the work. EDITED to respond to the owner: Sean, respectfully, your team lied to you. Your tech walked in with his iPad, in sales mode from the beginning, and offered to give me a quote for a whole-home replacement (which he never did, and in any event would be more than $10,000). It was clear that the $1000+ quote was only for the 12 foot pipe that was actively leaking and two t-joints. There was no other repair option. Your guy tried to overcharge me and I told him to get out of my house. As he was walking out, I told him that this was a $450 job and he told me that I was wrong. Yelper's come through again. We needed a total house repipe. Our water pressure was abysmal. The hot water tap was rusty and we started having pin hole leaks. After researching what I should expect from a total repipe, I contacted Wedgeworth through Yelp and requested a bid. Within an hour I had a response explaining they could do a rough estimate based on my detailed RFP or have an expert plumber come to the house for a solid bid. (I should mention, I contacted 2 other plumbers through Yelp. Neither has yet to respond.) I chose the solid bid and called the office for an appointment. Damondrick showed up at the appointed time and got busy assessing our situation. After about an hour we settled on a price (I elected to remove a couple of the bid requested to lower the total cost). Luckily, I was headed to Europe for 2 weeks so I returned home to, what I can only describe as, a brand new house. Water pressure returned, and clean, clear water runs through the hot water tap. And best of all, no more leaks. Wedgeworth was honest, reliable and reasonably priced. They weren't the cheapest of the bids I got, but their professionalism, and attention to detail won the day. Called them from Angies list where they were one of the top rated plumbing companies. They had their service person James out the next day and he gave me an estimate for the work and I agreed to it. He came back with a helper the next morning and they proceeded to excavate in order to repair my water leak. The work took half a day and was repaired so that water was no longer flowing into the street. The actual job came in actually lower than their estimate and the work was explained and performed to solve my problem. I particularly like the honesty and fairness this technician used. James was straight forward about what needed to happen and he addressed some other issues I have for a future repair. I have had more expensive plumbers do an adequate job but Wedgeworth charged a reasonable price and did the work that needed to be done in an efficient manner.
