This is a beautiful location, but they really are challenged in the cooking arena. The food wasn't just over priced for a hotel, it was just plain up not very good for what you would expect in the area. I started out with the Clam Chowder. It was pretty good but it was way over salted. I didn't mind so much as I was really wanting to get some salmon. For the main dish, I went with the King Salmon. Wow that was a glorious failure. It was the plainest, most over cooked piece of fish I have ever eaten. It was so flavorless I thought I was having a bland hospital meal while someone looked after my health. The vegetables were just as drained of taste and it really made me start worrying about COVID or something. Later, I found out that I actually did retain my sense of smell & taste, it was just the meal. I tried their "Fall Fashion" cocktail and was much more impressed with their bartender than their chef. It was a nice holiday riff on an old fashioned and I quite enjoyed it. I also had a glass of the Mark Ryan Lu & Oly Chardonnay. It was a very refreshing wine. I would have loved if it "went well with" the fish, but I don't think anything could have helped it out. I came back the next day for lunch. Yes, I was trapped with a conference. I should have gone elsewhere, but I was short of time and really wanted to give things a second try. I went with the Chicken & Brie sandwich with fries. I am now convinced that this place is a bar disguised as a restaurant. The fries were flawless and the chicken sandwich was kind of ok. I swear if it was fried they would have nailed it. If I could give them 0 starts I would. We made reservations almost 2 months ago, and they did not want to seat us on the patio at first, but I made it clear we made reservations for the patio over 2 months ago. After waiting 15 minutes we had to request a waiter to come over to us. We were only on our first mimosa and the waiter Mark made it clear he will not over serve us... which we are in our 30s and can handle one mimosa. He came off aggressive and not friendly. Once again we had to request our waiter after 30 minutes to take our food order. He then notified us that we received a noise complaint but never said anything to the table of 9 next to us that had 4-5 kids that were wrestling in the corner (which was actually disturbing us, but we never made it an issue). Chowder was good. The shrimp linguine and the steak were sub-par. Truffle mac and cheese gave me a strange stomach ache. Went in the evening for Valentine's day, it was easy to make a reservation. However, it did throw off the vibe when we were informed that our table was reserved for 90 minutes after our reservation. The time constraint led to some stress and for me to skip dessert. We didn't have a bad experience, it wasn't an extraordinary experience either. We had a reservation and we were able to sit outside, the heaters were on and it helped with the chill. I ordered the yogurt bowl and my mom got the mushroom omelette. We had asked for hot water and got them halfway through our actual meal. The yogurt bowl was fine, the honey definitely added a sweet touch but honestly nothing in the bowl was made in house. The granola was purchased (I asked), yogurt was purchased, honey was purchased. Service was very attentive for our lunchtime meal. The problem was with the food, which is kind of an important part of the experience. We started with the carrot soup and bread. Neither one had much flavor. The bread was almost a baguette. Carrot soup can be so yummy and this was not. The fish in the fish and chips was good, but the chips (fries) were overcooked and dry. The worst dish was the "roasted" beet salad. Again, almost no flavor. The small chunks of beets tasted like they came out of a can. I'm not sure why they choose ricotta cheese for a salad like this. This is the third time I have been to this place but I have never had the brunch here! What a great little set up! There were definitely choices to be had for everyone. My friend and I decided to sit up on the table between the bar and the restaurant. I think our table had the best view! We were facing the water and the windows even though we weren't facing one another. (tip, you can still get full service there if there is a wait, which there was!) I decided to get the buffet cause I can't pass one up and she got a breakfast. I went over and perused the selections. I saw a charcuterie plate with cheeses and meats, smoked salmon and all the fixings, flat bread and fruit. The other tables had all the other good stuff! I got scrambled eggs, sausage, tons of bacon, (it was soo yummy and not all bacon is!) Home fry potatoes which were delicious, and BBQ wings...that one was a little weird. lol There was also Granola, yogurt, cereal, muffins, breads, fruit and oatmeal for those that wanted something a little healthier... of course that wasn't me. lol. I also grabbed what was the most delicious little sugar waffle. Sooo good! I washed it all down with an orange juice and a sav blanc! I was soo full! Beautiful restaurant with a good concept but needs some fine tuning. I had been here once before for an event on the patio and I recall it being quite loud. Granted that was a large group, I figured out group was the problem and not the accoustics of the outdoor patio. This time we came for a socially distanced brunch with half the usual tables and it was still unbearably loud. They could really use some sound pillow diffusion in the patio ceiling area to help with the sound problem. 3 tables of people having mild mannered discussions should not be as loud as it sounds on this patio! Honestly it would make for a much more relaxing meal with the amazing view if they could get the sound under control. As for the food, I enjoyed my wild mushroom omelette, although there was nothing that made it standout from other brunch restaurants that I've been to. I actually had to ask for some pepper and would have loved the option to put some Cholula on it had it been on the table. Instead I slathered some ketchup on the omelette so it wasn't so dry. The Croque Madame, however, was stunning! My date said it was as delicious as it was beautifully plated. I enjoyed the strong coffee (nice that they tell you it's Sbux Pike Place roast!) The service was also okay but not the best the day I was here recently. I had a reservation and called on the drive over to try and let them know we were stuck in traffic and would be running behind. The first time I called I was asked to wait on hold and then after a few minutes the phone began to ring again. Someone picked up the receiver and then just hung up. I called again and this time when asked if I could hold I had to say "well actually no because I was previously on hold and got hung up on! And anyway I was just calling so you know we are on our way albeit behind schedule." Thankfully the hostess was able to annotate on the reservation log and I didn't have to wait on hold again. Once we were seated our server didn't come by to take our order for a good 15-20 minutes. I was worried this was going to be an indication of how long brunch would take but thankfully the food came out fast. As we looked around we noticed there was just one server to attend to all of the outdoor patio tables. He was a nice older gentleman but he was clearly slammed and had no help. Instead of having 3 bar backs constantly going in and out of the patio they would do well to have an additional server. I love this waterfront area and will have to come back and give it another try. Was invited back after a horrible first experience here, and this time it was MUCH better. They were extremely attentive from the start, and checked in on us regularly and frequently. Overall, if you don't want to read the rest of this long review - service was wonderful, and food was alright, view was decent. I think I'd give a 3.5 if I could since I wasn't too impressed by the food overall, and I feel like they were really making up for my poor experience last time - so I don't want to give anyone else an inaccurate representation on what their service is like normally since it was so drastically different this time than my last. We sat on the patio and while it was a bit loud for having any conversation due to the downstairs Dock & Drink bar hosting live music, the view was still enjoyable especially on a warm summer evening, although obscured by the big tent or something from the bar underneath? That part was a bit unfortunate. We ordered mussels to start, which was delicious - the thyme, garlic and wine were nicely infused in the broth. The King Salmon had a beautiful crust on the exterior with a moist interior which was perfect - but the accompanying rhubarb compote with cipollini was too much, and overwhelmed the dish with acidity. It needed a bit more sweetness to balance as well as something fatty on the side (maybe like a mayo or light lemon/herb aioli) to tone down the one-tone tartness of the rhubarb because that's all you can taste in the entire dish, unfortunately. The Prime NY was good - although wasn't expecting the accompanying mushrooms, asparagus and potatoes to all be in the same pile, which seemed a little odd/messy for a plating choice especially since that made the potatoes a little more soggy. The steak itself was also not cooked evenly - asked to be medium, but there were some parts that were overcooked and some parts that were bleeding along the same line/cuts. Flavor was decent though. Dessert (not pictured) was the Passionfruit Mousse I believe. It was served with a milk chocolate shell which I believe white chocolate is generally the better/lighter choice to pair with passionfruit, but it was fine. Presention was nice at least! We made a Friday 6pm reservation for their outdoor patio and requested a table with a water view. Although the reservation person said those tables may all be taken by 6pm, they were nice enough to save one for us! We had the gochuchang crispy chicken wings (our favorite), mussels and carrots, all from the appetizer list. The only thing we wouldn't order again is the carrots. The waiter also recommended we get the house bread to accompany the mussels. The BUTTER with the house bread is sooo good, it was my favorite thing we got haha. For drinks, I got the non-alcoholic vanilla apple fizz which was delicious. For dessert, we enjoyed the S'mores chocolate cake which comes in a big chocolate ball they light on fire! It was $21 which is overpriced to me but it was a cool experience you can only get if you dine there. The waitstaff was also friendly and attentive. A great spot on the lake with delicious drinks and food. While the patio on the 2nd floor offers heated "outdoor" seating, there are grey mesh screens that completely cover the exposed side so I felt quite uncomfortable with the lack of ventilation. Given it wasn't rainy or windy when we came here, we asked our waiter and the manager to lift one of these screens for more air circulation and they ultimately agreed to do so, but somewhat reluctantly. There are ample heat lamps built into the ceiling so we didn't feel chilly at any point. I recommend the management of the restaurant to raise the mesh screens completely if it's not rainy outside for proper air ventilation. Given we are in the heights of a pandemic, safety should be first priority. I also walked through Dock and Drink, the more casual eatery downstairs, and the whole tent felt sealed with no air circulation. 1) Service (+): Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions for all courses. 2) Ambiance (-): I would've felt a lot more comfortable if all the mesh screens were raised for full air circulation. When we asked the manager to raise one of the screens closest to our table, it felt like a negotiation and that they were doing us a huge favor. She even insisted that she won't be able to fully lift the screen but the table seated beside the screen were fine with the request and wanted the screen to be lifted completely as well. 3) Food (+): We ordered the W.T. wings, crab cakes, and brussels sprouts as starters, and all three were quite good. The must-order main is the Lakeside Burger, which is cooked to well done as it's a house blend of beef and bacon patty with white cheddar, tomato jam, and caramelized onions on a brioche bun. The fries accompany the burger are so crispy and tender! We had the apple crumble and chocolate fudge cake for dessert - both were good but there was nothing to write home about. 4) Alcohol (+): There is an extensive list of cocktails, wine, and beer on the menu. I had the Asian Ginger Pear cocktail and a Hibiscus cooler with bubbly - both were refreshing and summery. 5) Value for Money (-): At price points of ~$10-15 per appetizer, $15-$20 per drink, and $25-$40 per entree, the prices here are a little steep for Renton. read more

The service the night we went was ridiculously slow and we had to wave someone down for everything. Someone different brought our food, drinks, bill. Don't count on a good view from the patio seating as the awnings below obscure a great deal and the noise from the bar below was distracting. This isn't the first time we've dined here for brunch. I'll say the calling is the bottomless mimosas. At one point in time I noticed them serving Cook's sparkling wine and it was a huge turnoff. This past visit I did notice they upped the sparkling wine varietal at least. The view is incomparable. It's gorgeous, we love watching the seaplanes take off and land. I normally get the salmon lox, but this time I got the mushroom tacos and they were very good. I swapped my side out for fruit since I have a nightshade allergy, and was disappointed that I was charged $5. I don't mind paying fees like that - but I always ask ahead of time and they should've explained how it works. I would've just skipped the side all together had I known that was the swap. Or I could've gave someone else my fries and just ordered fruit on my own. The food was good, but I was annoyed at the unexpected up charge. My husband got the fried chicken and French toast. I didn't have a chance to try it because he ate all of it, so I assume it was good. He did say there was a bit too much butter on it though. Overall, I would return again for brunch. They have pretty limited options but my indecisiveness appreciates it, to be honest. I've tried about all of dishes and must say the fried chicken and French toast is my fave. Came here last night to celebrate my wife's birthday and we had an absolute blast. Foremost, the water view was absolutely stunning and the décor was a good choice. For our appetizer, we ordered the calamari and the Korean wings which was a HUGE disappointment. Being Korean, I was a bit too excited to see a Korean inspired wing on the menu. The wings had absolutely no flavor other than being marinated in soy sauce and IT WAS SALTY. I mean SALTY! The calamari had one of the oddest textures I have ever eaten as it was fully cooked but still soft and had the same consistency as a mochi donut. On to the positive. We ordered the salmon and cod and it did not disappoint. Everything on both plates were cooked perfectly and visually beautiful. It is so unfortunate that we didn't get to taste the delicious fish with all of its flavoring. I mention this because the wings were so salty that it ended up ruining our taste buds for the other food. We had a great table with an excellent view of the water. The restaurant wasn't packed at all vs the weekends... I really liked that. I always receive the best customer service at this restaurant. We had a great and friendly waitress today. She made sure our coffees were topped off. I love the quality of their breakfast dishes and pretty good portions. Water is constantly refilled. I'm a waterholic. My first time here, I ordered parsnip chips (out of this world!!), and vegetable stew / soup. These are staple pieces and great options for vegetarians. I was on a cleanse / detox, and these suited my needs. My second time here, we went all out with trying comfort food. Starting the bruschetta (ricotta is so good), to halibut fish and chips (fries were mouth-watering), ending with Mac and cheese (Beecher's cheese, yum!) The service was fantastic. The views are absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, that's the extent of the good things I have to say. I live local and wanted to visit because I was expecting this to be my new group dinner spot for work events. Got there at 7:15 and got sat at 7:20. Immediately ordered the bone marrow because I went in already knowing my order. Didn't get my bone marrow until 8pm!! The waiter knew after I ate some bone marrow I was going to order my meal. 8:15 I order Caesar salad and chose to add on salmon for an extra $23(high priced but was ok with it). Didn't get my Caesar salad until 8:55...the restaurant was not busy mind you. On top of that, my $23 salmon was TINY. This is what frustrates me most about this experience is how ripped off I got. Hopefully you can tell in the photo, but it was the same size as the lemon half. And it was dry as if someone forgot about it. There was also a ton of Parmesan, but that's not a big deal as I could remove some and keep what I wanted. Finally paid my bill at 9:25 and left disappointed.
