Mario and Thomas went above and beyond in removing our old water heater and installing our 75 gallon Bradford White gas water heater. Mario helped me move two file cabinets to allow better access to the old water heater and helped me return the cabinets when the job was done. Mario and Thomas and Water Heaters Only honored the original estimate even though the extra parts and work required should have added several hundred dollars to the job. Our final cost was 50 % lower(over$2000 lower) than the quotes we got from three other reputable plumbing companies. They made sure everything was working beautifully before they called it a day. They clearly explained how to increase or decrease the water temperature. And they left the area cleaner than when they came. Overall, we couldn't give them a higher recommendation! June 21, 2015 - Our water heater started leaking water on a recent Saturday morning and our plumber referred us to Water Heaters Only, Inc. for a replacement. The service they provided was excellent. David was our technician/installer and he was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He thoroughly explained the entire job and what additional parts needed replacing. He worked quickly and efficiently and the job was completed in about 1 hour. However, we had an unexpected problem come up after David left when we tried to use our BBQ. The grill wouldn't ignite and the water in the tank wasn't heating because the pilot light had gone off. I called the office and David phoned back and we tried to troubleshoot the problem but it couldn't be resolved. We'd have to wait until the next morning when he could return and check out the situation. Early the next morning he was at our house on time and discovered the problem was because the automatic earthquake shutoff valve had been inadvertently touched during the installation and there was no gas coming through the line. He reset the valve which opened up the gas line and gave instructions about how to do this in the event it happened again in the future. I saw the reviews on Yelp, that services were available 24 hours/7 days per week, and decided to call. Mark came out the next day and labored in the heat for several hours to do an amazing job! He not only replaced the old water heater (which was what was requested) but also extended the gas line for easier access to the turn-off valve, brought venting up to code, replaced lines, cleaned the outside unit housing out before putting in the new one, and several other necessary repairs to complete the service. Avoid company. They came and replaced my water heater for $2,200. They damaged my walls and doors installing and the water heater is defective. I felt very safe with Water Heaters Only. They're entirely focused on one job and they've done it a thousand times. They use Bradford and White tanks, which are highly recommended by contractors and include a real brass quarter turn drain valve for easy flushing when you do the recommended maintenance. They accomodated my desire to receive an energy efficient model to feel a bit greener and get the $30 SoCalGas rebate. I like the unit. I also liked their communication, their straightforwardness, and their apology when the previous job went very long and they could come until the next morning, after promising to be at my home in the afternoon. Yes, I could take off a star for that, but, when I called to express my displeasure, the person on the phone (at 9pm, mind you) immediately promised an early morning install and asked that I call the office the next day and ask for some compensation. I did ask and they again immediately offered it to me (extending my warranty, per my request). I liked that I talked first to Bill, then to someone else, but that person knew about the job, already. You don't get lost with this company, at least in the Los Angeles office. Oh, and once Tony the installer came out, he was prompt, courteous, efficient, and informative. Do these companies want customer to hire them? Do these workers have any type of Customer Service knowledge? I called to potentially build a work relationship with them, keep in mind I manage over 500 apartment units and need a company to help me with my water heaters. I do have a maintenance team but they do not have in depth experience with water heaters. Well this lady by the name of NANCY answered the call. (She didn't even mention her name until the end of the call once I asked her BTW.) Well I began with my info and what I was looking for. She then questioned me on the water heater warranty, she laughed at my warranty being over after only 2 years, questioned me again saying how odd it was that it was over. After all of that she still didn't answer any questions. She did ask me to call back with more information on the heater which by all means that was me dropping the ball and wasn't prepared but truly her monotone voice and the way she rudely requested it and didn't give me any glimpse of decent customer service truly made this company lose a potential customer. It was a lot of work to install the new tankless, do all the plumbing for the new system, and also remove our old water heater and remove the old plumbing. Fabian was there when we were getting a whole new HVAC system installed as well, so he worked very well with the crews that were there that day. They told us the model that would be installed and quoted us the price. Because 10 years is about the average life of a water heater, we decided to replace it vs trying to repair it. I called a plumber from another company who came out and refused to do the job because of the awkward positioning of the water heater. I HAD to get the problem fixed. The pilot light on my 3 year old GE water heater kept going out, and my regular plumber and I spent 2 days dealing with Rheem unsuccessfully to get a part for it. I finally decided Rheem was being unreasonable after the plumber followed their instructions on diagnosing the problem and then they still wouldn't send the part. I'll never buy a Rheem/GE water heater again, but this is a review for Water Heaters Only. Since the water heater's only 3 years old, I'm wasn't ready to purchase a new one yet, so I decided to go through my home warranty who connected me with Water Heaters Only. Ron showed up within 30 minutes, and fixed the problem in 20 minutes. Everybody seems to be aware of this problem with GE water heaters, but Ron knew exactly how to fix it, and somehow had the part on hand so was able to fix the issue without having to wait for the part to arrive.
