When my water heater broke, leaving the relief valve open and leaking water overnight, I researched companies and chose this one based on their great reviews. I called first thing in the morning, and the customer service representative was kind and helpful. Fortunately, a technician arrived by 11 AM that same day. At first, the technician seemed knowledgeable and explained that my water pressure was too high. He recommended installing a water pressure regulator along with a couple of other fixes. He was polite at the beginning, mostly speaking with my landlord. My landlord and I had also mentioned that we needed to flush the water heater since it had never been done before. The technician said he would first work on the water pressure and that we could do the flushing later. After installing the water pressure regulator--which took over two hours--I reminded him about flushing the water heater. By then, my landlord had left. That's when the technician suddenly told me there would be an extra charge for it--around $400 on top of charging over $1,400, I started asking specific questions about the pricing. When I asked why, since he hadn't mentioned an additional cost earlier, his attitude completely changed. He became cold and dismissive--seemingly because I was not the homeowner. Instead of clearly explaining why there would be an extra charge, he made me feel unwelcome and disregarded. I was the one who originally called for the service, yet I was treated this way. We ended up skipping the flushing part -- my landlord paid for nearly $1500 for water pressure fix. Everyone deserves clear and respectful communication, regardless of their role in the household. While my water heater is now working fine, I wouldn't recommend this company based on my experience. That said, their customer service representative over the phone was kind and helpful.

After research, we decided we specifically wanted to upgrade our old Takagi tankless water heater with a new Rinnai RSP160i (with BLE and wireless accessories, recirc, etc.). Rinnai openly shares that their warranty coverage requires installation through a trained, authorized installer, so I reached out to three local Burbank area companies listed on their website, and Tankless Water Heaters, USA stood out. The other two companies were either non-responsive (in a disrespectful way) and/or shared patently false information during their home visit regarding products. Alternatively, Omer from Tankless Water Heaters was fantastic. He understood, appreciated, and delivered the clean, professional installation we sought (in line with all Rinnai instructions.). Omer's teams also helped us replace our whole-house water filtration system, add an external irrigation supply line, and add a Moen Flo valve. All this and the tankless required two visits, the work was performed by two different teams of his, and both teams treated our house as their very own. Nice, clean, installations. Additionally, there was one aspect (bypass design) of the tankless install that we didn't like following the first visit, and Omer graciously ensured everything we wanted was adjusted to our request during the 2nd visit (at no additional cost). If you're looking for a professional install of one of the newer, high-tech tankless water heaters in the Burbank area, or just looking for a professional, responsive, respectful plumbing company, I strongly recommend Tankless Water Heaters over the local competition. Hired Tankless Water Heater USA for a tankless install and related plumbing at my home. Paid every…read moreinvoice they sent, on time, in full. The work they left behind was defective, unsafe, and I am still paying to clean it up months later. I contacted this company dozens of times across calls, texts, and emails asking them to come back and finish the job -- and to fix problems as they surfaced. The office deflected on every phone call and the owner refused to engage. When SoCalGas came to turn on service, they found open gas lines the crew had left. I asked for someone to come back. The owner told me they "truly believe" they had completed everything. When they finally did return, they caused additional damage -- and still left gas lines uncapped. I eventually brought an independent investigator to the house. They identified more than ten separate issues with this company's work, and told me their assessment is that most of it has to be redone. I have already had to hire another plumber to complete work this company was paid to do, and the cost of correcting the rest is still growing. Their handling of the SoCalGas rebate was its own problem. The office submitted my rebate application to a different address than where the unit was installed. When I asked how that happened, they told me in writing that they routinely "apply it as if it was installed in their old address" for clients in the middle of a build. That is not how a utility rebate works. The rebate was denied. I am out $1,500. Once I pushed for accountability, they produced invoices I had never seen before and demanded payment on them. One had been voided months earlier by their own office -- "please ignore that, there was a miscommunication" -- and was quietly re-issued without ever being sent to me. Only a contractor who assumes the customer is not paying attention operates this way. I have every email, text, and invoice. I am filing a complaint with the state licensing board. Do not hire this company. If you already have, save everything they send you in writing.

Long story short, I changed plans and am no longer getting a new water heater. But the friendly help and stellar communications from Natalia were appreciated and impressive. When I sent her a photo of the existing water heater and expressed concern about what the new, tankless water heater would look like, she sent AI (or photoshop) -generated images showing exactly what it would look like in my garage. When I shifted gears and said "Maybe we can put it outside, she addressed all of the logistical concerns, sent a tech out to go over the situation, then generated an elaborate quote that broke everything down beautifully. And then, of course, I used ChatGPT to troubleshoot what can go wrong with moving a water heater ten feet, while changing from tank to tankless and going from interior to exterior and it gave me about twenty concerns. Most of them seemed like AI nonsense but some of them were good points. Make sure your gas meter is X size, make sure your gas line is 3/4", many concerns about re-circulation situation... I'm sure the Natal and her techs new all of this and knew to determine some things on the day it was installed but Natal took every one of my concerns to heart, realized some were valid concerns that were not addressed on the first time a tech came out to quote the job so sent our another tech to take a closer look. And then I never did the job... Natal was as pleasant and sweet the last day as she was the first day. Just eager to gain my trust and do the job. Clearly, that has been most people's experience, too, as i look at these other reviews. Look, I don't get the impression that On Call Water Heaters shows up with three brand new vans all emblazoned with the name of the company in a full vehicle ad-wrap and the price she gave me reflected that... smaller outfit with less personnel that gives good pricing and good service with a good attitude.
