She estimated that her plumber would arrive between 1 and 3. Harry got to my place around 1:45. Harry was just the kind of person you need in a crisis like this: calm, focused, and very very very good at what he does. Watching him auger the toilet felt like some sort of delicate, precise medical procedure. There is an art to knowing how to auger a toilet, and Harry is a master. 'Did she put the whole chicken down there?,' he asked, jokingly. Twenty-two seconds later, the dark pools had disappeared, and I saw the cleanest white porcelain imaginable. We had a sewer backup issue affecting the back unit/ADU while also dealing with separate toilet issues in the front house. Mick responded quickly, diagnosed both problems efficiently, and got everything resolved the same day. The front house issue turned out to be worn toilet flappers from normal wear and tear. The back unit issue was a main line grease buildup/clog that required drain clearing and camera inspection work.
