We have a 3 ton and 5 ton AC unit. First this same repair guy came 3/24/26. He said the freon is leaking but cant fix it today because the order he got was to inspect. So, he came back 3/26/26 and said there is a freon leak, but he cant test for a leak because the order sent by his company only says to add freon (which he refused to show me the order). He said "He can only do the cheapest repair because he wont get paid and if it isnt working in a few months call the company back". Why not test to see where the leak is and fix the problem? He said to call the company and make a complaint. This guy knows nothing, the company is garbage. Update: just added few minutes agter he left we called our insurance company. The insurance company notified E&A and the repair main claimed he never said that...however, we have the conversation on our home security system. I needed to get my air conditioner fixed. My unit does both heating and AC, and it was getting really cold in my condo last week. My AC had not been working right since the summer and I got assigned to E and A mechanical through my home warranty. They called and texted me to schedule an appointment and have a technician come out and look at it. The technician came on Thursday last week. Levon was very professional, efficient and friendly. He added some more freon to help my AC unit get more heat. He explained the reversing valve needed to be repaired, but couldn't do it last week because of the rain. I got an appointment scheduled for him to come back today. Levon arrived on time and fixed the valve right away. The service was great. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the service of E & A Mechanical. We had scheduled an AC repair/maintenance appointment, and they canceled at the very last minute (same day). This wasn't just any cancellation--it was for a 6 month pregnant woman who was depending on their service to keep her home comfortable and safe during record high temperatures. Their lack of consideration and poor communication is completely unacceptable. Not only did they fail to show up, but they also left us scrambling to find an alternative solution at the last minute. For a company that claims to care about its customers, this experience was anything but professional. If you're looking for a reliable and customer-focused AC company, I suggest you look elsewhere. Save yourself the hassle and frustration. In response to your comment on my review: I see that you're in reputation management mode but just for your information, the company that came out after you cancelled, True Comfort HVAC for all those reading this review, came out and had the air conditioning working within 30 minutes. It seemed like the business was trying to make money as opposed to fixing the problem in an efficient way. A little background: We tried to turn on our heater for this first time this winter. Immediately the heater shorted and lost power. The HVAC was working fine in the summer when it came to air conditioning. I contacted my home warranty company (American Home Shield). They sent a technician (from a different company) to look at my system. After a very quick evaluation he said that my control board was corroded due to water leakage. AHS denied the claim so I requested a second opinion. AHS dispatched a technician through E&A Mechanical. He came out and spent a bit more time looking at the problem, including looking at the coil. He concluded that the drip tray may have been cracked leading to leakage to the control board which then corroded and rusted over time. He said I would need to replace my coil and control board at a minimum. This claim was sent back to AHS who again denied it claiming "secondary damage". I contacted E&A to get a quote for repair. They sent an email back to me stating they could do a repair, but it might be a better option to do the special "upgrade program" that AHS has to get a completely new unit. This threw up my caution antenna. I said, OK send me a quote for both an upgrade, as well as the repair so I can make a decision. They needed to send the technician out one more time to look at the system, though he was unable to access to unit on the roof. They sent me a quote ONLY for the upgrade (for around $10K), despite me asking several times for the repair quote. I ended up getting an evaluation from another HVAC company and they nailed down the source of the leak and the problem (a hose that may have been cut when the unit was installed years ago and had been leaking down causing damage to the control board. The other company said I would just need to replace these parts and a capacitor for a total cost of $1K. They got it done that day. My negative review is not necessarily for their missed diagnosis. The technician seemed to be pretty thorough, but did miss looking at every clue pointing to the source of the problem. Rather, my negative review is from the fact that the company seemed to keep pushing me to upgrading, even when it seemed it would not be necessary. I didn't feel like they were putting me first, rather they were putting their profits and work with AHS first. read more

Before you go with these guys, try reading some reviews on Google and Yelp and you'll notice similar themes: Rude technicians, misleading 'diagnostic' 5min visits (mine flat out refused to do the diagnostic, read below), uncommunicative customer support/ none of my calls have been returned, the list goes on. High demand for A/C service means we have to understandably be patient for someone to come out. We've been waiting for 10+days, a technician came out and he refused to perform the service because the brooms and light gardening tools in the closet 'prevented access' to the A/C unit... In them meantime, my elderly folks are still struggling in this heat. The technician got upset with my parents when they asked him to help remove the things in the closet. I called the technician and offered to have a neighbor come and remove the closet items. He still refused: "I'm too busy I have too much work." Now an even bigger problem is that E&A has closed the service ticket without explaining to my insurer why they didn't perform the diagnostic, which means my insurer still won't assign another contractor until they understand the reason. The worst company to hire. They were called in two different occasions to service a Central AC unit. Both times they determined that the unit needed coolant. (Pumping coolant into the unit 3 times with in a year) They also said they couldn't check for leaks or anything else because it wasn't in the work order and that I needed to be specific as to what I needed them to do to repair the unit, unfortunately I'm not a professional and there's no way I could tell them what to do and what exactly to put on the work order to fix the unit. I simply asked for them to do a thorough inspection of the unit and all of its components which was not done and they left telling my tenants that it was a waste of time having them go back out because there was nothing wrong. Finally a second company was called they did a thorough inspection finding a torn hose with in the unit which is where the coolant was leaking and also another leak in another one of the components. Had this company done their job right the first time they wouldn't have had to go out a second time tell my tenants it was a waste of time and still not do it right in finding the issues they were being paid to find. Even the lady at the office had an attitude when I called and ask them to go out a second time. I would not recommend this company at all. Please put your money elsewhere. When the E&A tech visited the property back in October of 2024 yes they did fix the thermostat and the receipt also says fixed 3 ducts, and they also pumped Freon. I have the receipt that was sent after that visit. I'm not sure but I believe that the "duct work" wasn't on that work order for the initial visit in October of 24 and yet it was done. It is funny you say you could only do what is on the work order yet I have proof that your tech did duct work and that was never requested from AHS because that work was done the same day of the visit to the property. When the AHS representative called the second time to schedule the appointment for me while I was on the line she requested a through check and to look for leaks which was not done the second time you guys were there on July 12 which is why you were called back in the first place. Your "through inspection" said there was nothing wrong with the unit but on Monday July 14th AHS had another company come out and do a through inspection of the unit (what was originally asked of you) and they did find two leaks. I can send that report over as well if you would like. In regards to the ductwork that was an example I provided to your office admin as she said that I had to request specific things on the work order and the AHS representative told her we were not professionals in the industry. The AHS representative requested to check for airflow and duct work and was never advised that only specific companies could do that as you state in your response, in fact I was asked if I needed the coils to be checked and I told your agent I didn't even know what coils were because again I am a not professional and even the AHS representative said she didn't know what to write on the work order because you are supposed to be trained to find the issues. For example a leak! When I spoke to the office personnel after your first visit in July I told her I suspected a leak somewhere because it wasn't normal to pump Freon so often into a unit. I explained to her that another company pumped Freon back in July of 24 then you guys came out in October of 24 and pumped Freon again, (unless you guys didn't pump it and just billed AHS for it and yes I have that receipt as well) and again you guys didn't look for a leak on July 12 that the representative specifically asked to be put on the work order and in fact she requested a senior technician to go out to the property and find the issue that was causing the Freon to be pumped so often and that was clearly also useless because you didn't find the issue. So please don't try and come with a sorry excuse of the unit was working fine and I could only do what's on the work order because again in October of 24 no ductwork was requested on the work order yet it was done that same day,and the second company that came out were issued the same work order from AHS as you mention all warranty companies work the same and I can tell you the same information that was provided to you was provided to them. They were able to find the leak with in minutes of arriving at the property so I'm not sure if your "thorough inspection" failed somewhere or it was never really done. read more

Do not let First American Home Warranty assign this company to you. Do not work with this company in any way possible. They will lie to you, they will do anything to get out of actually servicing your unit. My original service request through First American Home Warranty stated our AC unit was on our roof and it's a 2 story house. They still took on the job. I reviewed Yelp and Google and saw the negative reviews and pleaded with First American Home Warranty to re-assign, they didn't. They assured me that E & A Mechanical is a good company. (Not sure how they haven't seen all the negative reviews). So I got stuck with them, showed up, reviewed, and then when leaving the guy asked where the AC unit was. I mentioned on the roof above the second story like the service request stated, he said he couldn't go up there today but the company will follow up. First American approved repairs, I've waited all day for E&A to follow up and then they told First American they can not service this unit because it's on the roof. They lied and told me they need to contact First American for authorization. They hung up on me twice when I kept trying to find out what the status was. They didn't return my voicemail. They did not return my text. The only way I got through was *82, so it was obvious they were screening calls. This is all one big scam. No one is helping and we have been without AC waiting for this to be taken care of. Now we have to wait for First American Home Warranty to dispatch a new company, which won't be until Friday at the soonest, all because E & A Mechanical didn't want to do their job and just took the service request to get paid. File a claim through home warranty because AC went out (and during heat wave!). Not only is FIrst American great in opening a claim and assigning a contractor right away, E&A called me the very next morning (I filed my claim after hours the night before) and scheduled an appointment. They were able to schedule someone for the following day between 10am-1pm. This is great response for a warranty claim!!! Tech showed up on time (11am), and called me from my porch since I was in my office (separate guest house). Very nice of him, because I happened to just miss the ring camera notification. He spent about 20 minutes working on the unit and fixed it. He was very nice, and I appreciate so much that E&A was able to solve our issue! My heater stopped working and my home warranty company American Home Shield send one of their contractors who couldn't fix my unit and therefore my claim got denied. With 2 little kids at home and cold weather I was very frustrated with the first company's inability to repair it. I requested a second opinion and that's when E & A mechanical was dispatched, the technician. Karen came to the rescue and showed up 8 am on the dot and literally fixed my unit in 15 minutes. The unit had a faulty part which he readily had in his van . My wife and kids were super relieved after the heater started working immediately. I was on the fence about keeping my AHS warranty active but after this experience I definitely will keep it since I was very pleased with the result . read more

Just be careful of this company that will try to find a way to make more money out of you. I called my home warranty due to leakage near the furnace of AC. The technician came by and took them about 1-2 days for the report to come out because a field supervisor needs to review it. That's the first red flag I noticed, maybe the field supervisor "needed" to review so he can charge as much. Report came out and 5 things they noticed. 3 was covered by insurance, which equivalent to almost $500. And 2 had to be out of pocket: 1) AC coil maintenance/clean and 2) ptrap modification. Which will cost me about $400. E&A doesn't want to go through with it if I don't agree with the out of pocket charges. HOWEVER, I have a family friend who also has AC company that has 20-30 years experience and had a second opinion. He said the out of pocket charges are marketing scheme because those are easy fix that even none experience technician can do. I told that to the E&A that info and they had to contact supervisor but still doesn't want to go through with it. They already charging my insurance $500 and still wants more from you out of pocket. That will cost me $400. I don't know why they can't just fix the one that was covered by insurance. read more

And I am completely happy about that. They are very responsive once I make a claim; they usually call me to schedule an appointment within 24 hrs. Our Home Warranty company hooked us up with E&A because our AC wasn't working. The tech added some more refrigerant and we are cool again. We actually have 2 units (upstairs and downstairs). Just the downstairs wasn't working, but we wanted them to check the upstairs as well. The scheduler said we needed to add that to the ticket with the home warranty peeps. We did, but the tech still only had the one when he came out. A call back to the office and they eventually found the addition of the 2nd unit. That one was low too. So glad we checked. I had E & A Mechanical Inc assigned to fix the leak that was coming from my AC unit. I let them know that even though I had already changed the air filter the leak hadn't stopped. The technician arrived on time and he fixed the issue and left. However, the gunk that he cleared from the air conditioner located in the attic, which is next to the guest bathroom, all the debris that was cleared got all over the walls, doors, door jambs, mirror, both sinks, picture frames and towels on my guest bathroom. I had the door closed to my guest bathroom at the time so I didn't notice it before he left and had given them a 5 star rating. When I called their dispatch office to let them know about it they did not once offer an apology they acted like it was no big deal. They sent the technician back to 'clean' it but he also did not express any concern or gave an apology. Instead he tried to blame me for not changing the air filter and maintaining it which was not the case in the first place. This was the worst customer service experience with an HVAC contractor I've ever encountered. Never will use them. read more

UPDATE AFTER OWNERS RESPONSE 6-4-2024 Had another company come out. Cool Comfort. They had no problem accessing the evap coils in the attic. These guys didn't even inspect them and just assumed they needed to be replaced. Turns on the evap coils were perfectly fine. The issue was a metering device that was clogged with a small piece of metal. They corrected it WITHOUT HAVING TO CUT OPEN MY ROOF. Problem was solved same day. read more

So apparently my Home Warranty (American Home Shield) only works with scamming businesses. This was the second company that came out to fix a leaking AC. Tech tells me he can fix the problem for $350 on spot. A friend was over and said no, call your insurance and see then have them come back. I called AHS to ask about the claim and was told E&A will come back out to fix it for $230 as it is not covered by us. I called to tell the office that their tech tried to scam me for an extra $120 and she did not care and kept repeating but you have to pay $230 that's the bid.... all I asked is if it's only $230 why was he charging me $350? Beware of the tech (blonde, blue eyed, skinny, Polish or Russian accent. So disappointing as I wanted to hire them to come do the job and yet to find out I was being scammed in the first place. read more

This is the absolute worst company I have ever done business with. Everyone is unethical and the customer service is terrible. Their technician Andrey is very unethical and does not take accountability for poor craftsmanship. He admitted to possibly causing an issue and then backtracked on his claim stating it was a defect in the unit which only occurred after he did his work, this issue never existed prior to him doing his work. He was unprofessional and seemed to not know exactly what he was doing. He left the job without doing it right and did not attempt to correct his mishaps in anyway. I can't believe AHS works with a company like this or anyone for that matter. I will submit my complaints to AHS as well as the BBB. I don't call on an A/C repairman often, but on the rare occasions I have had to, I have called on E & A Mechanical and always glad I did!! It has been many years since my last service call to them, but my A/C went out suddenly yesterday and I immediately called them for an appointment. The receptionist on every call was professional and friendly. They immediately brought up my records and knew the history. They dispatched a technician who came out first thing next day. I believe the technician's name was Eugene. He was super friendly, professional, and efficient. Very sincere and honest company representative. Quickly diagnosed my package unit and quickly got it working again! I was thinking the worst all night, but E&A fixed it and made my stress immediately come down. My unit is a rooftop package unit, older model, but they never have had a problem keeping this tank running like new! read more

SCAM, STAY AWAY from this company. They quoted us 10k while we got our unit fixed for $1200. As mentioned with other negative review, do not let First American Home Insurance assign this company to you!!! We didn't do any research prior so we weren't aware of this company. Anyways. Our AC unit was not working properly and FAH insurance assigned E&A mechanical to us. The guy came and took a lot at our unit as well as up the roof to check pipping, he said our compressor is dead, everything is leaking, roof has missing parts, and it won't be covered by insurance. Then he showed me a screenshot from his phone saying, your insurance goes by this plan(pays 50%) when you upgrade to a new unit. He then quoted us 10k to fix everything because without insurance it would easily cost us 75k!!!!! (what?!?!) He then asked us several times if we want to proceed with it, I told him I'll need to check with my home insurance and he kept saying, if we do it now, it will be 8000, submitting it insurance will take a long time. Better agree on the price now so we can speed up the process. I declined and said let's submit the claim with home insurance and we will see. 2 days later, they called and asked if we were to proceed, we told them our home insurance never received your claim and we could not proceed. Long story short, we had 2 another companies come and check our ac unit because E&A mechanical did not seem reliable and we wanted a second opinion. Both company did a THOROUGH check. When I say thorough, he literally tried 4 possible ways to fix our compressor, wash off the dirts, released Freon and etc... Turns out our compressor needs replacement, we raised concerned about missing parts and leakage but things were fine up in the attic, no leakage. They submitted the claim within 2 business days. We ended up only paying $1200 total. read more

I hope I can raise the stars on this, but I'm skeptical. The first time I called my home warranty company, these guys were sent out. I was not getting much air blowing into my bedroom. They came out and told me the air ducts were crushed in two places. The warranty company said this work was not covered. I hired my handyman to do the ductwork. Spent $500 out of pocket. I have since checked my very thorough home inspection report from when I purchased the home and there is NO mention of any A/C or duct issues. The photos of the ducts are NOT crushed. Nobody went up there and STEPPED on the air ducts! Note, home was purchased FOUR months ago and the home inspector wrote every crack in the grout and concrete down - It's unlikely he would have missed something as big as air ducts. Fast forward and my heater stops working.They send the SAME guy out, first, he accuses me of messing with some valve, then says I'm lucky the house didn't blow up because something was too close to wires. He works for an hour, "tests" the system, and says it's fixed. So yes, now the system runs and I have NO heat. I wrote this Yelp review and posted it Sunday evening. Monday morning, at 7:30 am, the company calls and tells me a bunch of B.S. Here's the short of it: "I'm sorry, sometimes other things break". Nope - when they left they said it was fixed, it wasn't. Then she tells me, "The warranty company doesn't cover everything" - Excuse #2 - nope, this is covered and they left with it still broken. Next she tells me that all the negative feedback is ONLY FROM HOME WARRANTY CUSTOMERS - nope, we are not all in cahoots complaining because we have nothing else to do. Excuse after excuse. I told her I'd be happy to update this to a positive review when it's fixed. The problem? "We only have one technician who services your area". My response? "Thanks, cancel the appointment, I'll call the warranty company and handle it. I just got off the phone with them, you won't believe this, E&A never sent the job report - as far as the warranty company is concerned, he hadn't come out and thought this second appointment was a "reschedule". So the tech dropped the ball on me and didn't file the paperwork - which the warranty company told me is due 48 hours after service. It's been two weeks! Company owner replied, again, this is not the warranty company denying service. PERIOD. The work was not done, it's pretty simple. Warranty company had me forward the email E&A sent me, where E&A claim it's the warranty company's fault for not covering the work; however, the warranty company never even received a report so there is no way any of what they have said is the truth. I have a new company coming out at no charge to me. I will NEVER allow E&A in my home. And to the owner of E&A, just be honest. I'm not trying to ruin your business but you haven't even done your basic job of reporting back to the warranty company, I HAD TO SEND THE INVOICE YOU SENT ME TO THEM. HMPH! read more
