I finally found a local dryer duct specialist I can trust. After a frustrating experience with another company (Optimal Air Systems INC), I am so glad I found this business. Optimal Air Systems used oversized screws that penetrated the duct interior, creating a permanent lint snag and a significant fire hazard. They also surprised me with huge hidden fees. Unlike many others, Dr. Dryer Duct is a legitimate local company, not a lead-generation site that often employs bait-and-switch. They are fully licensed and their pricing is very reasonable. I'm embarrassed to say that we never knew we needed to clean the dryer vent and we only ever cleaned the lint trap in the dryer itself. Our dryer is working fine and we never had any error codes, but we've lived here almost 19 years, so we wanted to have it cleaned. Our brand new dryer started showing a d80 error so we called Daved to come and check it out and clean our dryer ducts (we definitely knew it wasn't the dryer as we had only used it a few times prior and before that we didn't have laundry). Daved and his son showed up right on time and promised a flat rate of $175 - this was a big selling point for us because the other companies we contacted were going to charge $250 or more! Daved quickly identified the issue - there was a flap over the outside dryer vent that was not opening when the dryer was on. He fixed the housing of the vent and added a screw to gently prop the flap open when the dryer was on so it could get more airflow. He tested it a few times and confirmed it was working for us. Then, they cleaned out the vent and were very conscientious about not getting the dust and dirt on the AC condenser outside (the vent is right above the condenser so they put a plastic sheet over it). Daved even noticed that our stacked washer and dryer was wobbly and fixed it for us by adjusting the feet. Overall, he and his son really went above and beyond just cleaning the dryer vents and we really appreciated their kindness. Thank you SO much for the help Daved!! read more

I would like to thank Daved for coming so quickly after the Eaton Fire to clean out my HVAC ducts and registers which were overdue for cleaning anyway with bugs and dog hair falling down into the floor registers. Daved and his son arrived with big commercial HEPA vacuums to clean out all of my floor registers and ducting, both supply and returns. I also had them clean my dryer ducting and exhaust boost fan. My 2nd floor ceiling ducts were clean. They did a wonderful and careful job cleaning all of this and even vacuumed my wood floors before they departed. They worked for about 5-6 hours and didn't even take a break. Pricing was super reasonable. I really recommend them. I will book them from now on every 5 years. I suggest you do the same! I had a really good experience with this company. It had been at least 10 years since we had the dryer duct cleaned out and with all you hear about house fires, we thought it was time. They were very responsive and came the same week we called. Although we didn't think we had any problems, turns out, there was a place where the duct had separated and all the lint was getting blown into our garage attic for I don't know how long. They climbed up into the rafters, handed our Xmas gear down to us and fixed the problem, so it was higher than the original quote. $204 out the door (including the base fee of $129 + the repair). I decided to use my own dryer vent kit and accidentally got a brush stuck in my vent. It's a complicated setup compared to my other homes as the dryer vent is fairly long with a 90 degree angle and vents to outside over 20 feet on the outside. I reached out to many people on Task rabbit, yelp and personal contacts and many people denied helping and some said I'd have to even take the whole wall apart. Someone tried to help but was unsuccessful in doing so, so I knew I had to reach out to a professional. Daved said he thought he can get it done even though others said no and was very upfront with the pricing. He also scheduled literally next day for me compared to some who couldn't come for over a week or two. He used a few different tools and was able to successfully extract the brush, hanger and rods I had stupidly gotten stuck in there within an hour. Also, he was able to identify the main issue which was that the vent flap wasn't installed correctly by my builder leading to severe blockage and my vent and dryer not working correctly for years!! My dryer has been taking way too long to dry so someone suggested that I have my dryer duct work cleaned. I wish I had done this sooner! Night and day difference in drying time. Total professionals. Genuinely dumbfounded when I found out you had to clean out dryer ducts, especially on a regular basis. Chalk it up to us being lucky - our vents hadn't been cleaned over a decade and we never had an issue. I felt dumb for not knowing, but I'm sure glad I called Daved at Dr. Dryer Duct because he was a complete pro. On the call, he was patient, answering all of my questions and concerns, and scheduled me for a next-day visit. Daved was prompt and communicated his arrival via text. After he got there, they were total pros. They helped move the dryer, wiggle behind it, and begin the work. Our outside vent was high up and, as they were cleaning, it made quite a mess, sending lint all over our back porch. After 15-20 minutes, they wrapped up. In the end, they did a full, thorough cleaning and replaced the duct that connected the dryer to the main duct line because it was made of vinyl and wasn't safe. I watched them load out and was prepared to go clean up the back porch, but when I went to go do it, I discovered that they had cleaned up the entire area and put my deck furniture back.
