Amazing and plentiful diner food. Ms Lindsay was an excellent waitress - attentive and helpful. My sister and I had their special of the day - pork souvlaki platter. OMG! THREE skewers of tasty pork souvlaki, Greek salad and French fries. Cozy diner atmosphere with mouth-watering dessert display. Our special came with soup/salad and dessert.

    Mold on the strawberry cheesecake

Ordered Togo and I got a cheese burger deluxe and the meat had no seasoning very bland. Asked and was charged for disco fries but did not get them. I also got a slice of cheese cake with strawberries. The cheesecake was strangely runny and wet. The strawberries had visible white mold. I'm pregnant and didn't want to run the risk of ingesting the mold so I can't comment on the cheesecakes flavor. This was my first and last time trying this restaurant. Pretty disappointed.

I forgot to take a picture of what I had to eat, which was French toast and bacon, coffee, orange juice, and some water

The breakfast there is so good. I was going to IHOP but I will never go there again because this is so good to eat at. The selection that you choose is much better than any place else. I almost finished my plate I had to take a picture.

I've no complains about the food. It tasked pretty good. Service was awesome. Servers showed up right on time at our table. Food was served very quickly. Ample parking available when we went (1pm on a Saturday). After the food I went to mens room, which was terrible state. Even the ones in NYC are far better than this. I almost threw up. Very much clear that they had not cleaned it in days. Very gross!

A "super griddle combo" with whatever egg I did receive in my order that was under my pork roll.

We usually have an OK experience here but this is how my egg came today in our pickup order. It's not even ONE egg. Do better. Will not be back

Dinner Special: Chicken Palermo. Chicken & fresh spinach in a white wine butter sauce topped with mozzarella. DELISH!

If you are not a steak eater, there is plenty on the menu for you too. However, go for the steak! We go a few times a year and it never disappoints. Dress is casual, kind of an old looking dive bar vibe with great food. People are nice, servers know their menu and can make good suggestions if you're a first timer. Reasonably priced for everything except the steak. With the steak, you're paying for quality. Always a great meal, and almost always leftovers to take home. We've never had dessert because dinner is so filling, so no review on dessert here.

My husband had the ribs and said they were amazing. The staff was super friendly and pleasant all around. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was that it's unbelievably loud in there. It's really hard to have a conversation while dining there. It's got more of a bar vibe to me, so maybe that's why I found it hard to hear. But I would definitely go back but probably earlier before the crowd gets heavier.

Mountainhome Diner has been around for years and is your typical diner with all-day breakfast available. It's clean and the staff were exactly what you want in a diner with friendliness and hospitality. I went with a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant with some well done potatoes. My friend had the scrapple with some scrambled eggs. I also had an orange juice. The orange juice I did not care for. Definitely not fresh squeezed. But the sandwich was excellent along with the potatoes. My friend also loved his coffee and scrapple with egg. My meal came to $11 not including tip. We'd come back!

The current owners since 2017 are husband and wife restaurateurs Ali and Etab Abullattif. The enormous menu features classic staples such as omelets, pancakes, eggs benedict, french toast, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast wraps, salads, sandwiches, paninis, burgers, seafood entrees, steakhouse entrees, and various Italian specialties too numerous to mention. My family and I visited Mountainhome Diner for lunch on a recent trip to the Poconos. It was actually are last morning on our trip and we were looking for a place to grab lunch before making the drive back to Connecticut. We had driven past the diner several times on previous visits to the area, but had never visited before. We decided to give them a try. It seemed like a classic American diner that you could find just about anywhere. There's no website, no social media accounts, just good old-fashioned diner staples. The staff were friendly and accommodating and they seated us at a booth. A go-to dish that my wife and I both like to get at classic diners is a Greek salad, and Mountainhome Diner's "Big Fat Greek Salad" (chopped iceberg lettuce, crumbled feta, olives, tomato, onions, peppers, grape leaves, house Greek vinegar) sounded like it was just what we were looking for. I ordered mine with gyro while my wife ordered hers with chicken. Those salads really hit the spot! For our sons, we looked to the Kids Menu. Our older son had the "Hot Dog with French fries" while our younger son had the "Chicken Fingers with French fries". They were both very happy with their dishes. We had a nice time at Mountainhome Diner and we're happy that we finally stopped in. We recommend them to anyone visiting the area!

We had a 7 PM reservation on a Wednesday night, and the place and parking lot were packed! Good sign to start! To begin, I enjoyed the Ruby grapefruit mocktail. Although I'd love trying new and unique cocktails at different establishments, I was in the mood for something light and refreshing and nonalcoholic. This hit just a spot. For food, we started off with the margherita pizza to share. Then, I opted for the crispy, buttermilk chicken sandwich with malt vinegar, potato wedges/fries. It was very delicious. The sandwich was crispy and fresh and the bun looked like it was handcrafted. The malt fries were unique because they had a vinegar powder on them. I've never tasted malt vinegar before, and it was a unique texture. Our waitress was very friendly, but I wish she had been a bit more attentive. She only stopped by to ask us for our drink order, our food order, and to give the check. My friends wanted to order more drinks, but because she did not come around as frequently as we would have liked, they were unable to place another order. I will give her the benefit of the doubt, however, because the restaurant was bustling from start to finish. Overall, very nice setting and meal. Cute decor, including an Anthony Bourdain abstract portrait.
