    BLT WRAP
    Jamie B.

Grounded for Life is one of my favorite local lunch places. This cafe has excellent options, particularly for those who are vegan and/or gluten free, or simply looking for healthy options. My personal favorites are the BLT wrap with chipotle aioli, and the Live On green juice (apple, kale, celery, ginger, and lemon). All of the smoothies and juices are delicious and fresh. I've always loved the BLT wrap so much that I've actually never tried anything else on the food menu! The prices are fair, with plenty of food options under $10. Most of the wraps are around $10, and the juices and smoothies are around $6-9. The restaurant atmosphere is cute and casual, perfect for a quick and healthy breakfast or lunch. The service is excellent and quick. They also offer local delivery on apps such as DoorDash. Clinton was in need of vegan options for a while, so I was so thrilled when Grounded for Life opened! I highly recommend.

Amazing vegan food. The Setanta used for steak is shaved thin and marinaded in secret home marinade. The bawl I had ( Seitan Lovers Bowl) was tasty and well balanced. The Aioli complimented it well. I wanted more when I finished my bowl. The sandwiches are offered on chiabata bread. The cheese stake was sublime, but prepare for a sloppy meal. Everything was supper fresh. The owner was very friendly and informative. You could truly say they prepare and serve each meal with love! Tge outdoor seating is perfect for a nice springy day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The indoors sitting area is small, but there are a few tables there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pleasant atmosphere with subdued music in background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Visited this restaurant when I was in the area and I enjoyed my meal . The employee " forgot her name" was very helpful with a nice personality . I ordered the bacon cheese burger and the " boost" juice . My meal was $25 which is pricey for 2 items but that is expected for vegan food .

Tip: there is parking in the lot that says private parking right next to it. Stopped here because of the menu and reviews I saw. I was passing by and was hungry. I got the chickpea wrap - very good the capers added great flavor. Everything was fresh. There was a guy there that raves about his black bean burger. I also tried the smoothie and recommend the chocolate milk with vegan protein. All the ingredients here is what I love and the way the food taste. It is made fresh. They also have cupcakes and brownies that are vegan and some Gluten free. Service was good also.

It's fun exploring new places and I'm so glad to have found this gem. Quirky small place that ticks all boxes. It has reserved parking, limited indoor but good amount of outdoor seating . It's raining so I sat inside and experienced such a personalized service. The menu is a dream some true with options ranging from wrap, breakfast bowl, burger, smoothie and cold pressed juice and coffee. I ordered coffee with coconut milk and Taco breakfast bowl. The bowl is so flavorful and ingredients so fresh. I can see it has spinach, salsa , vegan egg and tempeh served with whole grain bread. Omg! It's perfect . Now this is going to be my coffee and lunch when visiting Clinton , NJ and waiting to get Suresh here !

So much great vegan food! This was a great stop after going on a hike near by. So many different options it was actually difficult for me to choose. Also all the baked goods looked delicious. Service was great, everyone was super friendly and inviting. The area surrounding it is also really cute. Near a bunch of shops and places to walk around on a nice day. Definitely recommend visiting!

    Seitan bowl

I happen to have found this little gem while visiting The Blue Army shrine. I orered the Seitan bowl and it was absolutely delish! Not knowing what seitan is as I am not vegan although always love to try exploring healthy options. I also ordered lavender latte and added some Matcha powder which was a perfect blend of flavors. The lady behind the counter was super helpful and [[HIGHLIGHT]]cozy brunch/cafe, highly recommended![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Not from around here at all , wanted a little snack after work vibes and saw this vegan spot so why not try it out ! Let me tell how you clean this place is !! And it's just feels cozy and loved I didn't get much but like a said a snack which was avocado toast - power bread , avocado mash , lime juice , olive oil , hemp seeds and cumin salt with my own personal drink of apple, lemon , ginger and cayenne pepper. Sheesh, the toast was so fucking good as well as the drink , and I know jf little snacks are very good I can only imagine how the meals are Anyways come by and see for yourself what is there to lose ? It's healthy at the end of the day ! Thank you guys !

The way they show pictures of "today's specials" on an iPad type device is a nice touch. The meatball app had good flavor as well as the ricotta that came with it. The fiancé had the pear purse which is always a very good. Also the Eggplant Pisa salad that came with my lunch paring was very very good and I would eat it again!!! The bad. The meatball app, although tasty, was only two small meatballs (basically the size of a soup spoon!!) for 15 bucks. So I don't care for the cost compared to the value you get for it. Also I am a snob for chicken parm and this chicken was overcooked and dry. The bread crumbs were soggy and would have been forgiven if the chicken itself wasn't so overcooked and dry!!!! My over all is this. Been to mamas many times before this review and I think they are worth your time (even more so during dinner time!). They do more things right than they ever do it wrong. The task: trying to find a local bakery to make a cake for my father's big birthday…read more The major hurdles: husband and I are vegan, sister is mostly gluten-free. And, my parents live just far enough away from major urban areas that finding options that cater to these dietary needs is near impossible. The solution: Windy Haven Farm to the rescue! I spent hours trying to find a place to accommodate all our needs while still not irritating the birthday boy who has pretty strong (i.e., negative) opinions about vegan and gluten-free versions of food. To be fair, I also am a little skeptical about gluten-free baked goods, having had some that have had odd textures, flavors, etc. With all these concerns, I decided to text the number and requested a call back. The incredibly sweet, patient, and knowledgeable owner Kim called me right back. I asked her my questions, and Kim told me her cakes are not too sweet and have a texture that is similar to "regular" cakes. She also told me about the ingredients she uses. Based on what my dad likes, I asked Kim for suggestions and ended up choosing a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and fresh organic fruit compote. Kim told me that due to the season (it was early spring), good fresh, local, and organic fruit wasn't readily available and that she could use a good quality frozen organic fruit to make the compote. I chose a cherry compote since I knew my dad would enjoy it. The price of the cake was a serious bargain for what we ended up getting. Kim told me I could order online and request a pick-up on Monday from her house without any additional charge. Due to weather issues, we ended up meeting at the local police station where I was given a gorgeous cake along with a pretty, gold colored "Happy Birthday" sign to insert into the cake before serving. Well, everyone LOVED the cake, and there wasn't a peep about it being gluten-free or vegan. Honestly, it just tasted just like a "regular" delicious cake one could find at a high end conventional bakery -- maybe even better! The texture and flavor of the chocolate cake was delightful, the buttercream was flavorful and not overly sugary, and the cherry compote complemented it all nicely. My father was very happy, and it made his birthday all that more special. Many thanks to Windy Haven Farm! You've now got a long term customer from me and my whole family.

So we drove there but were not sure it was open. It was. Just dark. And some things on the menu were not available. They had probably about 8 customers not including the 2 of us. So they were trying to accommodate. I got the watermelon tomato gazpacho and the chick pea caesar salad. Both were very good. On the gazpacho I wish there was a bit more watermelon flavor and chunks. The salad was good. Very hearty. My friend got the mushroom po boy. She liked it as well. The server was very nice and attentive. The lights eventually came back on about 3/4 the way through our meal. So now we could see. The place is cute and the fans were welcome on a humid evening. You have to pay to park. And the restaurant is all the way down on the right. The area is very cute and kinda touristy. The only down side besides paying to park are the prices. Just because it's vegan doesn't mean it's cheap. It's not. Prices are higher. Just for my soup and salad my dinner was $28. I guess that could be standard but I got soup and a salad. But it was good. I would go back, just not often. Overall good experience in a challenging evening with the blackout.

We ordered cauliflower wings and one empanada as apps and a kid's chkn tenders along with a bakon burger (sub chkn) for our mains. It took 28 minutes before we saw any food. The cauliflower wings were large and def made with fresh cauliflower (with that familiar raw crunch). The batter was raw inside- my guess is the oil temp was high so the outside cooked fast but left a lot of mush inside. The empanada was okay, very light on the filling. Another 19 minutes go by before the kid's chikn tenders come out. Apparently the cook is new and messed up on the bakon burger forgetting to sub the chkn so had to wait yet another 7 minutes for that. Chkn tenders were pretty much the gardein seven grain product and the kiddo seemed to be pleased. The bakon burger, when it finally arrived was a huge disappointment. The bottom bun was dry and hard. It would clank when I tapped it against the plate. There were a few drops of mayo in the middle leaving the entire sandwich dry with a cold slice of cheese- no attempts at melting. I did provide this feedback to our server, who was polite and even went to the back potentially to see if an accommodation could be made. However, none were made and we walked away knowing this was a one and done restaurant.
