Went back after a year for lunch and the half off sushi happy hour. I feel like they should update the happy hour menu to not include rolls that aren't applicable to the offer. Anyways, my friend and I ordered five rolls: Angry Dragon, Dynamite, Manhattan, New Years , and Patriot. These special rolls aren't listed on the website but most of them included spicy tuna, avocado, spicy mayo, shrimp tempura, and eel (Angry Dragon) Sushi is prepared and rolled to order and the presentation of all the rolls looked great. Ingredients were fresh, and the rolls were pretty big, so I had to take some of it home. Overall, I was more impressed than I was the last time I ate here. The 1/2 off sushi deal is worth checking out if you want to try different rolls or if you want to add a special roll to share alongside an entree. read more

I think Wasabi has the best sushi in RI. Rolls are generous and fresh and there is a large variety of options. My favorite is the soft shell crab roll. You can get a 30% discount during sushi happy hours (see their Web site for details). There's a large bar where you can watch TV or the sushi chefs, private booths, and a large dining room that for some reason is never full. Found this place on yelp, it's in the plaza behind Pier I and Petco. I didn't even know there were any places behind the main stores in that plaza! My husband and I ordered takeout: chicken teriyaki with miso soup, spicy tuna roll and salmon roll. There was a ton of food for the price! However, it was just alright. The chicken was good but I wish it had more flavor. It needs more teriyaki sauce. The tuna and salmon roll were fine, but they fell apart very easily, so it was a bit annoying to eat. read more

I just love this place. I don't know why it's not busier because the food is always outstanding. I love the little booth that they have that are private behind a curtain. So cute and with the pandemic I feel even safer there. My favorite thing of all time is there pizza sushi appetizer. They have a sushi pizza in the regular menu but this is usually on a special menu and they charge you individually for them. They are so delicious that it is definitely some thing I have a craving for. Their soups are excellent and their food is just so good. So...wrote a review on this place 2 years ago when it first opened...surprised it survived. Since then it has garnered some pretty good reviews and...they have instituted an excellent "appy hour" --half price sushi from 1-3. Been twice and sure enough the first time was good! Not the second time. Today at lunch ordered several rolls and several pieces of nigiri. Got to my tuna and it smelled. (always smell your sushi!) Ok-- everything else was good. Mentioned it to my chef-- he smelled it and said it DIDN'T smell. Hmmm...it plainly stunk. When he continued to object stupidly I forcefully warned him not to argue with me. I've been coming here for a little over 3 years now. Honestly its been every Friday since they re-opened after COVID. I was so sad to see my sushi place not open that entire time. So when the re-opened, I made a point to go there every Friday on my lunch break as way to celebrate making it through another week of work lol. This was my favorite part about working on bald hill. I would call in my order and the lady over the phone was extremely nice and even started to recognize me and my usual order. I cannot overstate how good the soosh is here guys. My favorite rolls to get are the Godzilla roll and the black tuna roll. Every now and again I would mix things up with maybe a sweet potato roll or yellow tail, maybe even some regular salmon and tuna rolls. The specialty rolls are all exceptionally tasty. And there are tons of them. A whole separate book of specialty rolls aside from the main menu specialty rolls. If you sit at the bar, dine in at a table or even just pick up to eat in your car and watch traffic. This place is top to bottom a go to and will from now on be the epitome for which I will compare all other sushi restaurants to. Thank you again for being my go to place! P.S. We ordered a late takeout from Wasabi because it was the only sushi restaurant nearby open past 9pm. Staff were nice and the prices seemed appropriate, but the food was just ok. The rolls fell apart very easily, which to me is a sign of an inexperienced sushi chef. I also thought it a bit odd to find carrots in my sushi roll. I've heard nothing but good things about this place, so when we were invited out I was excited to try it. Tucked away in the back of a strip plaza is this little gem of a restaurant. We got there on Sunday at 1 when it opened and the place started filling up pretty fast; which is usually a good sign. The inside had perfect lighting and the overall vibe was clean,chill and visually appealing. We were sat right away at one of the main booths, but they also have an entire wall of private booths with curtain closures, pretty dope. Nice that you have an option. The waitress came over and took drink orders right away and served them just as fast. I had the scorpion bowl but also sampled some of my friends drinks-everything was spot on and mixed with top shelf liquor. We ordered a bunch of different sushi rolls to share (they are half price at happy hour on Sunday) and Omg. Some of the best sushi I had ever had. So fresh, packed with ingredients ,rolled to order..just amazing. The crab Rangoon were unlike your ordinary dense version, so light and airy. We finished EVERYTHING. They offer half price sushi and sashimi during lunch hours. I purchased a bento box before I knew of the half priced sushi. The bento box was plentiful. The shrimp teriyaki was a bit over cooked but I did drive 25 minutes home. I'll certainly come back for some sushi in the near future. read more

Well, I must say that I was pleasantly pleased by my visit to Wasabi. Today I enjoyed a lunch date with my friend for half off sushi. If you're anything like me and you read a bajillian comments before deciding if you're actually going to go to a restaurant, then you know that half off sushi is Mon-Friday, 3:30-5:30, eat in only. Take out is 20% off. Sundays half off 1-5pm. The place was pretty empty and the staff were friendly enough. But...if you're also like me, I like my servers to establish some sort of connection with me. I'm a good tipper!! The waitresses are lacking in this department and do not return often. As for the food. Totally yum. I got the: Boston Roll- if you like mayo, yum. My friend also got this roll, she said it was delicious. I quite enjoy the simpleness. Green Dragon-if you love eel like me, so freakin good. Rainbow Roll-love the variety of fish. One of my favorite rolls. Very fresh. Godzilla Roll-yum yum yum!!! It comes warm because it's fried. Love it! New Years Eve- My. Favorite. Roll!!! Done. Manhattan-not very far off from the Godzilla, comes warm and fried. It's one of the heavier rolls. White tuna-delicious. Eel-my favorite fish. If I could give zero stars I would. while out for dinner with a friend of mine, we both got a hibachi meal, the chicken uncooked, forgot multiple of our items when we clearly ordered them and the server looked at us like we had ten heads when we asked for our missing items that were ordered Before hand, not only that but when handing us the check the server stood there waiting for us to hand her the money and said I hope you know that you need to include tip because it is not included in the price of food. Wasabi consistently has fast service! I love the sushi and the food (especially the scallion pancakes)! I also enjoy the private booths and private rooms as they provide more of an intimate setting. My only negative: The last time I went I ordered a smoked salmon skin roll but when the food came I received a smoked salmon roll. I was disappointed but am not the type of person to say anything. Pulled into the parking lot of Chili's when Wasabi caught our eye. We heard online about a special here--30% off sushi before 3 p.m.--and our plans immediately changed. When we walked in, we were greeted politely and brought to a cute booth with a small curtain for privacy. The sushi lunch special was 3 rolls for about $13 which is a STEAL! The special comes with miso soup or salad. The soup and sushi was brought to us very quickly and everything was delish and cooked well. DINE IN AND TAKE OUT! he's been here before but my first time was a few weeks back and we came again today for lunch! not all of their rolls are included in their half off special, but it's still a decent amount of rolls. hand rolls are also included which is a plus. we ordered the manhattan, godzilla, patriot, angry dragon, and american dream rolls. along with those we ordered two spicy salmon and two spicy tuna hand rolls. we didn't finish our rolls so we got them to go and we also got two spicy salmon rolls to go as well. total for 5 rolls and 6 hand rolls and 2 hot teas came out to be $57. in my opinion that's not bad considering sushi is normally expensive anyways, so you can't beat half off! read more

I decided to try again and this time I had the bento box with the shrimp tempura and a Boston roll. It came with a soup or salad and I had the salad with ginger dressing. Dressing was good but way too much on the lettuce. The lettuce leaves where so large I couldn't fit them on the fork. Oh well. In the bento box, The California roll was good , but the shu mai i did not care for - too fishy. The shrimp tempura was fresh and crispy, however, the veggie tempura not cooked all the way through. The sweet potato was hard and the broccoli raw. Since the server never came to see how things were ( despite the fact it was not busy) when she came over as I waved her for the check I told her. She just looked at me and said should the chef make you more? Maybe earlier but not by then. Boston roll was pretty good. Just basic but ingredients were fresh. Honestly little has changed since i first reviewed it in 2013. It's just OK. They have specials and deals so people do go, but I am not tempted to try it again.
