Compared to New Asia, Warwick and Kon Asian Bistro in East Greenwich, Asian Dynasty is likened to a New Jersey Turnpike food service court stop (IYKYK). Sushi roll...let's start with that. The end of a shrimp sushi roll usually has the tail with a good part of the shrimp. Asian Dynasty, please do better. The shrimp was literally "shrimpy" with the size of a side of a paper clip (not the whole clip) of a piece of shrimp. And $1.00 each for a tiny drop of eel sauce and spicy mayo. No! It is worth the 3.8 miles to go to New Asia or the 5.8 miles to Kon Asian Bistro in East Greenwich. Sorry, not sorry. read more

The spicy Mayo wasn't spicy and was a bit sweet but otherwise rolls were good. We ordered shrimp & broccoli and we expected it to come in the brown sauce but it came in a clear sauce. Just OK, wonderful server A few nights ago, I drove into the strip mall housing Kwong Dynasty. On a Thursday evening, the restaurant was not busy and I was seated right away. I ordered Hunan Chicken. The waitress suggested a special meal I hadn't noticed on the menu. It saved me a few dollars. The restaurant serves alcohol and we ordered a scorpion bowl. The food came promptly, was fresh, hot and decent. The portions were oversized. Definitely recommend, the food is decent, the service was great, and the prices are very reasonable. The only downside is that a scorpion bowl for 2 is 20 bucks. That seems abnormally high. We'll stop again. Thanks read more

As an often overlooked dish, Moo Goo Gai Pan is rich with vegies, and for protein it includes chicken (white meat) Although it is on the bland side, it is still flavorful and a staple in American Chinese Cuisine. Would I lie and say I wasn't envious of Brian & Mike's selection of the General Tso (white meat combo) no I wouldn't. Having had that dish from Kwong many of times I know what I was missing. They do such a great job with their General Tso. They are very much a gluten free friendly restaurant and have plenty of options for vegetarians. I highly recommend going to Kwong Dynasty. I ate at this restaurant on 1/29/2021. Firstly, I want people to know that the same owners, as of this writing, still own and operate the establishment; they simply changed the name from Kwong Dynasty to Asian Dynasty in order to incorporate their diving into Japanese cuisine. As far as the food is concerned, I will say that it is overall very good. I ordered the following items during my visit: chicken lo mein, the dum sum platter, an order of egg rolls, beef moo shu, and a roll of shrimp tempura. The lo mein I feel isn't as good as it used to be; I think they changed the recipe a bit and also no longer seem to use the flat noodles -- any lo mein fan knows what I am talking about. The dum sum platter was a special treat; I didn't even notice it on their online menu; however, it can be found on the dine-in menu. The platter consists of scallion pancakes, fried dumplings, shu mai, and spring rolls. All items were very good. I only wished the fried dumplings were a bit bigger; I've had larger ones at other establishments. The order of egg rolls, which I accidentally placed, seeing as the platter had spring rolls, were a nice golden brown, and had a tasty vegetable and meat filling. As for the moo shu, it was delicious. If you've never had the dish, it is essentially a Chinese burrito which you prepare yourself. The dish is composed of vegetables, a sauce, and a meat; on the side you will have 4 wraps (referred to as pancakes). Some may find the taste of the dish to be a little sweet, but it was very good in my opinion. Lastly, there was the shrimp tempura roll...amazing. If you aren't a fan of sushi due to eating raw fish, I suggest you give the shrimp tempura a try...if that still doesn't do it for you, they do offer chicken tempura...it allows you to give sushi a try while veering away from the whole fish aspect of it. All dishes came out in a prompt manner; our server was very, very attentive, having checked on us numerous times, refilling our waters, and asking if there was anything extra we might need. Overall, I give the restaurant 4 out of 5 stars...my only gripe seems to be with the lo mein; I do wish they'd return to their old style/recipe, but maybe they have changed chefs...not sure if Chef Ben is still running the kitchen. Finally, this place has the best duck sauce of any Chinese restaurant I've been to. If you're in the area, give this place a try; you will enjoy it. read more

My girlfriend has been going to Asian Dynasty (formally Kwong Dynasty) for many years. Even though I have never loved the place she did and I didn't hate it enough to object. Until tonight. For the first time we both agreed that everything we ordered was terrible. Chow main, total mush! Chicken wings, so dry they could have been cooked Yesterday! Ribs, fatty and burnt! Fried rice flavorless! And don't get me started on that colored liquid they have the nerve to call house duck sauce. I've had duck sauce I hated and it was way better than theirs. Kwong Dynasty has been my go to take out Chinese restaurant for about 20 years! This is a dine in restaurant with full bar that serves tasty drinks, I just opt for take out. My favorites are Szechuan Chicken and Spinach, Ginger Chicken and String beans, Orange Beef, Fried Dumplings and Beef Teriyaki. They also have a special board which includes Pineapple Fried Rice... this is a must try!! I find the food to be prepared perfectly each time and it's a place where when I order something I know what to expect. Service is always friendly as it's a family owned and operated restaurant. Now it seems the quality went way down, fried rice salty, French fries very greasy, noodles for chow mien stale, some of the order missing and very stale fortune cookies I wouldn't even give to my dog. First time here. I can't seem to find a consistent Chinese food place around my house, so I gave this place a shot. I ordered the general tso's special for take out. Came to $9.00 and the package felt on the light side. When I got home, the sauce had leaked through the styrofoam box and paper bag so it made a nice mess on my table. Lucky it was riding on the floor of my work truck where any stains add character. The portion was tiny, about 6 bites, and it was overcooked. It looked and tasted burnt. Not good. The rice and egg roll were fine but just not satisfying. Won't be back here. Not enough food for my dollar. read more

I have been coming here since the late 1980s - it is consistently flavorful, clean and a really good place to eat. The prices here are very reasonable. Don't be put off by the strip mall location. The restaurant is pleasant inside and the service in this family-owned gem is quick and kind. Plus, I always feel lucky when I pass through the moon door to the dining room. ;-) Fried wontons on every table are a nice touch, though the food comes so quickly we never get to the bottom of the bowl. My mom swears by their hot and sour soup, and the fried dumplings are awesome. I've never had a bad entree here. Some favorites among my family and friends (who have all been dragged here by me at some point) are General Tsao Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Hunan Chicken, Strange Favored Chicken, etc. I tend to like it spicy, which they do as richly flavored, not hot, unless you ask for more heat. My daughter is gradually expanding her palate from sweet and sour chicken to chicken lo mein... she likes it so much she doesn't want to try a new dish. What more can I say? The only thing I can't guarantee is a good fortune cookie. Although I once received one from Kwong Dynasty that read 'You will soon achieve perfection,' so I can certainly vouch for their accuracy. read more

Take out only, since we have no interest in alcohol. Felt our first try at Take-Out here about 2 years ago might have been a fluke. Sadly, we were wrong, very wrong. Our visitor saw the place on the way inbound, and figured it seemed convenient. He was so totally wrong. General Tso's Chicken was ordered EXTRA spicy, but turned out extra watery and unpleasant due to oil slick from the chicken. The "fried rice was clumpy and tasteless, to boot. The boneless spareribs jammed into a foil lined bag were odd and tasted badly reheated from the condensation caused by unacceptable take out packaging. Far from fresh, they were clearly re-heated to death and who knows how old. The chicken fingers with brown gravy and french fries jammed into the same grossly unacceptable foil lined bag were greasy to the extreme and soggy to boot. The dozen or so hollow, grease-soaked french fries were so disgusting I dragged them back and made myself a sandwich at home. $8.99 for that was about $5.00 too much for what there was, without taking into account the abject lack of quality. Our guest nibbled on the General's and a forkful of fried rice and then made a sandwich also. Lastly the Crab Rangoon, also served in that same nasty foil-lined bag were GREASY and soggy from being crammed into the bag. Had we not each tried one, they would have been sent back also. Huge puddle of grease in the bottom of the bag made them even more disgusting. Bottom line: if you want real, fresh Chinese food, save yourself both money and aggravation, forget about Kwong Dynasty! read more
