This review is for their dim sum menu! Is it the best dim sum ever? No, but it's quite good and really solid! Dim sum is usually a brunch thing, but we were in the area for a movie and just wanted dim sum for dinner. The two of us ordered the congee with shredded pork and thousand year egg, bok choy, salty shrimp, and off of the dim sum menu: steam rice roll with shrimp, chicken feet, oyster sauce duck feet, siu mai x2, shrimp chive dumplings, and Chinese tea. Forgot to take a photo of the siu mai even though that's our favorite. We also asked for hot mustard and chili oil sauce because that's how my family has eaten dim sum and that's how we now continue to enjoy dim sum. Everything tastes as expected. The chicken feet were nice and soft and fell off the bone. The dishes weren't too salty. The salty shrimp was as advertised--salty and crunchy. The congee is a large portion because it's mostly rice and water, but I just really wanted it and it did not disappoint. The tea could have been more flavorful, it was quite light. Despite that, the tea is still a diuretic. We did end up taking some food as leftovers. The customer service was really fast and polite! The interior is pleasant with interesting decor (a spear/halberd? mounted on the wall). The table partitions are pretty tall so you don't see the other customers if they're seated adjacent. It wasn't very busy when we went on a Wednesday evening, and parking is no issue at all here. Overall a good place to get some Chinese food whether you're a party of two or a party. read more

Was recommended to come here after the Yelp Elite event at Magnolia Soap and Bath nearby! It's located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking, and their lot is separated by a median with one exit/ entrance. We went for lunch so it was not super busy; we were maybe one of two patrons inside. It was nicely decorated, and there was a TV above our table playing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. What a good movie! They served wonton chips with duck sauce, like chips and salsa. What a nice touch! I have never seen that before at an Asian restaurant. We ordered some general Tso's chicken and then one of sushi lunch specials, which came with two rolls and either a soup or salad. I chose the salad, which is like the ones you get at hibachi. It was drowning in that orange tangy sauce, but it was still good! The sushi was good, too. Not the best I have ever had, but still good. The whole meal was perhaps $25. Here's the updated version with the ambience included: We tried New Asia House for the first time and were really impressed. We ordered a California roll, the Tuna Thunder roll, Shanghai dumplings, orange chicken with pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and pepper steak with onions with white rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked really well. The portions were huge for the price, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant itself has a great vibe -- very clean, neatly decorated, and the little waterfall feature added such a calming touch. It made the whole meal feel extra relaxing. The only downside was the orange chicken -- it had actual orange peels in it, and they were burnt, which threw the flavor off. Everything else was fantastic though, and absolutely worth ordering again. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, especially since we had our 13-week-old daughter with us. I was wondering why I had never heard of Hibachi this close to home. After trying it - I know why. Completely empty at dinner time. Soup was salty. Salad was too sweet. Hibachi - rice was underwhelming, under seasoned, and under cooked. Noodles - non existent. The portion for 4 of us was equivalent to one anywhere else. Steak was good. Chicken was ok. Went here on a Friday night walked in and there was only 1 other table there. Staff was friendly, service was good but that's where it ended. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and my friend had sushi. We ordered nime chow as an appetizer it was awful the rice was over cooked and the peanut sauce was super chunky. The sushi roll again had overcooked rice it fell apart just picking it up. Pad Thai was not a typical pad Thai and the noodles were overcooked and the sauce was not peanut sauce. This was my first time ordering from new Asia house. I ordered the chicken fried rice. It was packed with flavor, not overcooked, but it did leave a slight burnt after taste. If I had to guess it was made earlier and just warmed up before going out. I ordered chicken lo mein. This was absolutely fantastic, it was the right consistency. It was packed with juicy flavors. Everything was cooked evenly and when I had received it, it was steaming hot. Lastly, I had ordered the dumplings the fried dumplings and whatever is inside these dumplings is unbelievably fresh, there were some kind of vegetable in with the meat and it was insanely fresh. I don't know if I had ever had such a fresh dumpling! The dumpling sauce on the other hand was a bit overpowering on the salt aspect. I believe it has soy sauce in it. It was just a little too much soy sauce for my liking, but a very light sauce. Overall, I loved my meal and I ordered from DoorDash and everything was still steaming besides the rice. I had been there before and didn't care for it, but we were hungry and it had been 5 years, so we went in. It is clean spacious , and the hostess welcoming, and we were promptly seated. It was noon on a weekday, but there were only 2 other parties in there. We ordered - I got Ha Gao ( shrimp dumplings) (5pcs) $6.75 and Siu Mai (5pcs) $6.75. The shrimp dumplings were not good. The rice dough was too thick and the shrimp paste was dry. The Siu Mai was a bit better, but tasted a bit weird. Not sure what was it that made it taste that way. Just not good. My friend got Nime Chow (vegetable) $5.75 and Wonton Soup-(sm) 4.75. She said the nime show was tasteless and the wonton soup was just ok. She is someone who pretty much likes everything, but when we left she said "Let's not go back. There are way better places out there." read more

A go-to spot for us for years. It is never crowded (say what you want about that but there is never a wait!) We typically will get sushi which is always fresh and well-priced. Sometimes we will get some of their Chinese dishes like fried rice, steamed dumplings, or proteins. The only thing we've ever gotten that we didn't love was Pad Thai but there just aren't many places in RI that do a good Pad Thai. I've seen people get Hibachi there. The servers are all so nice. Also, I ordered Szechuan food and there was no Szechuan spice in the food. There are better Asian restaurants in West Warwick RI. Things the restaurant can improve : 1) double check your orders when you pack them. I should not have to do that for you. Staying in Rhode Island for the long weekend, exploring the different corners of Northeast corridor, and we narrowed down our choices to New Asia House. We ordered some dimsums, fried rice, crispy pork chop and chicken chopsuey. Green tea and ginger ale for the drinks. Everything we ordered are good except their version of soup dumpling (xiaolongbao) and chopsuey is different from what I am used to. The dumpling has similar shape outside but it is full of meat and almost no soup inside. The chicken chopsuey is serve with bean sprouts and onions. I am no expert to Chinese cuisine and I am not sure what specific region this dish prep is. Nonetheless, everything taste good. I love their crispy pork chop and their very good prep of general tso. My daughter gave it two thumbs up and commented it really taste good. Overall, I highly recommend this place for your Asian cuisine craving. I understand businesses working with limited staff. I understand miscommunication. But this whole visit was horrible. 4 guests in our party. We were rushed to give our order as we sat down. We all ordered hibachi (2 shrimp and 2 steak). We were given the choice of white or brown rice. Not fried rice, white rice, or brown rice. Just white or brown. When the salads came out the lettuce was dirty and wilted. So now the chef comes out. Doesn't know what he's doing. Served raw vegetables, didn't bring rice & noodles for the customers, cooked the steak mixed with the seafood instead of separating and cooking like your supposed to do so people don't get sick... then the waitress started yelling at everyone! Went there for lunch one time that I was running errands in the area, since I don't eat at Silver Crystal anymore. I ordered some dim sum choices to see how they fared. The (har gao) shrimp dumpling was not very flavorful nor very delicate as it should be. The siu mai (pork dumpling) was a bit better. It had a nice filling but the meat was not the best tasting pork filling I've had.
