I have been on the hunt for good simple chicken chow Mein! Hunting for GREEN! Every other place I had gone was overcooked, over salted, bland, brown, and not fresh and sometimes overpriced. This is now my go to for Chicken Chow Mein. And now...to try some other dishes! They make their own duck sauce and even the mustard, almost tastes like wasabi but that's even better! Actually compare other Chinese restaurants to Oriental Taste (even those who got 4.5. stars) and they have been consistently better. Special requests are also taken, the food and veggies are always fresh and the Shrimp NIme Chow and spring rolls are delicious. Love oriental taste! They offer a wide range of apps, soups, fried rice, chow mein, and a variety of beef, chicken, seafood entrees. The crab rangoons are a must! They have a sweet flavor to them and are made In house. The generals chicken isn't far my favorite I've had anywhere! I also get the black pepper chicken that's a favorite of mine as well! Great takeout spot for dinner and they also do a lunch express special during the week where you can get 1,2, or 3 items with rice for a great deal. Not only do they serve great food and offer a variety but the service is excellent. The woman who usually works the front always remembers my order and is always so nice to all their customers. They do have a few tables where you can sit at to enjoy your food if you wish but they are deff geared more towards serving as takeout spot. Highly recommend 10/10 read more

Service here was great. Parking lot is a bit small so just keep that in mind. For the most part the food was good and portion sizes were normal. The spring rolls were really good but a little burnt. The weird thing is you have to pay for sauce. Other restaurants give you a ton of soy sauce/duck sauce but this place you have to pay for it. I didn't give 5 starts because I'm wanted the sauce from the shrimp and broccoli to have more flavor and be a bit thicker. Otherwise it was good food. read more

I've lived in Johnston for the past 3 years and have been on the hunt for good Chinese food. Although there is at least one good Asian place in town, they don't make good Americanized Chinese in my opinion. This place was everything I was looking for and it was right under my nose and across the line into Cranston. My husband wanted to try somewhere new and I found this place based on the reviews. We ordered a General Tso's chicken combination plate with pork fried rice, crab rangoon, steamed dumplings and beef teriyaki. The only thing that I wasn't impressed by was the dumplings but they were still decent, as I ate more than one. Everything else hit the spot. So excited I stumbled upon this place, I will for sure be back to try more. read more

OK, I'm sorry to say there's nothing special about this place. I ordered the beef and broccoli and the beef was soft. The sauce was boring. I ordered chicken chow mein once again no flavor boring. The chicken was soft. Fried rice, same thing boring without flavor hardly anything in it. read more

I used to love this place for take out, as the food was always fresh and tasty. The last couple of times I got take out I was quite disappointed. I'm not sure if they changed cooks, but the lomein and fried rice no longer taste the same. Even though the convenience of being close to home is great, I don't foresee myself going back. read more

Really love this restaurant! It's just a small order-in area and all orders are take out--but I feel that it the new structure of restaurant that is going to be successful going forward: everyone utilizing take out and just eating at home, comfy in your PJs and a major movie marathon. The staff is really friendly. They have a small door that the food is contained in to prevent too much contact. I love the food here! There is no added MSG and the food is always hot and tastes amazing. It kinda tastes like a Chinese mom cooked in her kitchen at her house and handed me some extra servings to take home. Homemade and authentic. What I really appreciate is that the food comes out super fast. They are always ready with my order even if I arrive 2 minutes early. Friendly staff, fair prices, and decent food. To be honest, the food reminds me of the type of Chinese cuisine that you would get at your local mall's food court with its taste and texture/appearance. This isn't necessarily a bad thing; I think the food fits the restaurant. This is a perfect takeout place and is good if you are looking for a quick bite. If this was more of a sit-down type of restaurant with a full bar, waitstaff, the whole 9 yards, then I would probably be a bit disappointed. I do wish the fried rice had more of a dark color (dark soy sauce) and, along with the the egg roll, contained some type of meat or pork. Both the egg roll and rice were lacking in this, and the egg roll essentially reminded me of a spring roll. I would eat here again if I was looking for a quick bite, something to get on the way home. Holy holy holy savior! Strong cravings for comfort food, during the onset of a cold, led me to this lil gem! Plenty of parking, reasonable prices ($35 for the following: crab Rangoon, hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings, shrimp Lomein, and nam chow). It all tasted fresh! My gf finished her nam chow before we even left the parking lot! Hot and sour soup was probably the only mediocre thing we ordered but that might just be a matter of preference, it was a little too tart for my taste. Crab Rangoon- light and not overly fried. We just moved to the area and this will definitely be our new go-to spot! Steamed dumplings has the good doughy consistency. Shrimp lo mein had actual shrimp not little ones. Best Asian food around, hands down. I never used to eat Asian food because it's so hard to find high quality takeout but they do Asian food right. Everything is super fresh, you can literally see them slicing chicken breast, fresh veggies and making sauces when you pick up your food. Cannot beat the quality and service. read more

Traveling with my daughter and both of us got in the mood for takeout Chinese. I absolutely love authentic Asian food but once in awhile I crave Americanized Chinese food. This place got good reviews so we decided to try it out. It turns out this was exactly the type of restaurant we were looking for. The staff was friendly and efficient; the prices were good; the food was fresh and delicious. Well they will not give you a glass of water...no cups? Let us just hope the food is worth it. Not starting off well. Well, the food makes up for it. I am not sure how I have misses this place. We have found our new go to place. The Crab Rangoon is worth a mean unto its own. Udon Noodle mean is the best in RI. This place is simply fantastic. Only issue I have is that is purely a take out place. There is some seating, but more for waiting to pick up an order. Aside from that, the prices are crazy reasonable and the quality is fantastic. read more

Just getting off vacation I had no food in the house so for lunch I stopped in. For $6 I received two types of chicken (General and mandarin) and a lot of rice! They give you good sized portions. Also, this is like a cafeteria style set up (almost like Asian food at the mall) so it is quick! It's tasty! I would say try it. read more

This is my go to place for lunch when I am in the area. The lo mein is very good (never had the rice) also yummy crab rangoon. I've also had the chicken and broccoli, beef and mushrooms and beef and peppers. All are good and the prices can't be beat. They give a ton of lo mein. Also the owners / workers are very friendly and let you make substitutions without an additional charge. (I asked for just mushrooms & broccoli) I recommend giving them a try. read more
