I would say that this is consistently your best bet for Chinese food in Rhode Island. The place is nice and clean. Our waitress last night was very attentive and all of the food was made to order and very fresh. Super friendly staff. The sushi has been excellent and consistent each time. Some of the best spring rolls and hot and sour soup that I have been able to find since moving to RI in Feb. Prices are fair. *Highly* recommend the Viking Roll. I sub white tuna for the salmon and it is *chefs kiss* (but it is excellent as is, I'm just a white tuna fan). I've been here several times, and the food is very good. They have a large selection of authentic Chinese items in addition to the usual Americanized fried crud. Specials on the board as you walk in are always delicious. The staff is very helpful, even the mean-looking dragon lady at the counter. NOTE: review is for take-out only I had their take-out with my father today and we both really enjoyed it. It was really tasty and reasonably priced. We both got combination plates and there was so so much food in each dish. Recommended dishes include shrimp lo mein combo plate, shrimp and broccoli combo plate, and fresh rolls. Also, their duck sauce is literally to die for (probably made of straight sugar). I would definitely recommend this restaurant for take-out. I must admit I was surprised that Kwong Dynasty had never been reviewed before this. This is my "go to" place for Chinese. The food is outstanding and consistent, and the staff beams with hospitality. The General Tao's is the best I've had in the area, and that's saying something because my great great uncle was actually General Tao. Needless to say, big fan! read more

So we went for Chinese New Year. It wasn't very busy, but there was one very large party. The staff was pleasant enough, but the food was not very good. We have been here before with mixed results, but this was different, maybe a new, inexperienced chef? Fried dumplings were almost scary with dark lumps of tasteless filling. The hot & sour soup was chuck full of good things, but it was overthickend. Children's chicken fingers were so greasy we took off the batter. WE sent back the Lo mien because it was tasteless & the noodles tasted old! Fried rice had absolutely nothing in it, just colored white rice. Hunan shrimp was tasty with large shrimp & lots of veggies. Chicken chow mien was stellar, but overall the experience was dreadful. Sorry, but we just cannot go back. read more

Have only ordered one thing from here and thats the General Tso Chicken ... once a week. This place has ruined General Tso Chicken for any other place because ~no one~ has it as good as Kwong. The chicken is battered perfectly and the sauce is like no one elses. Dark and rich instead of mild and mediocre with crispy chicken instead of a mushy shell like most places. It is desceptive from the road - hidden in a strip plaza - but the food is great. They offer all the usual fare; I had the egg drop soup and the Hot and Spicy Pork and both were excellent. The wait staff speaks limited english but the service was excellent. The restaurant is clean and the dining area is very nice. Tonight I tried Kwong Dynasty for the first time and I really liked it! I ordered the Kwong Dynasty special combination and everything in it was great. I especially liked the chicken fingers they had a great taste and they were nice and crispy. My boyfriend got the General Tao chicken and that was a hit too. The only down side to this place I think is that it could be a tad bit cheaper considering the portions weren't all that big. Other then that it was a very clean presentable restaurant. You wouldn't think from the outside that the inside would be that way. I don't think this is a new favorite place or anything but I would definitely order from here again. read more

I think the food is excellent but I am writing them a letter about their waitress who is so intrusive I could not at all enjoy being there having a private conversation with my friend. This waitress has such poor respect for her customers privacy it borders on an outrage! She would not leave us alone! I had to stop my conversation multiple times. She would not stop!! This place is history. 3 times they forgot to include the egg rolls which were free with the order over a certain amount. We got 3 bags of noodles and 2 bags of shrimp chips. Wife called and the OWNER spoke to the wife. Owner told no egg rolls and it was like the owner did not believe her. I told my wife not to keep going back and forth. And in past orders they have forgotten things. If anyone asks me about this place i will tell them to ask them to repeat the order several times to make sure they get what they ordered. I've been dining here since i moved to the area some 19 years ago and have NEVER been disappointed. The service is always friendly, efficient, and attentive and the food is always fresh and consistent. My favorite dish is the pineapple fried rice which comes on a hollowed out half pineapple with shrimp and diced fresh pineapple and a saffron (i think) seasoning. It is sweet and fresh and delicious and i have to get it on every visit. I've tried MANY selections and have even trusted my waiter to bring me something interesting from the traditional chinese menu and been pleasantly surprised. The only complaint i would have is that the lighting is very bright and a little harsh, in fact we refer to it as " the bright place ". That is not something that would ever keep me away though. read more

Tonight, 3/22/2017, my boyfriend and I order a platter only to find a small green insect in the sauce. We immediately stopped eating and called the restaurant but were met with accusations from the "manager". My boyfriend's family has been eating at the establishment for over a decade and to be met with such lack of customer service is appalling. We were offered credit for another meal but after this experience we'll never eat here again. We wanted to avoid confronting the health department but because of this situation we will be going to the Better Business Bureau as well as the health department. read more

Cold sesame noodles were inedible. Strange sweet taste instead of savory sesame . General tso chicken was bland, no spice to it at all. Lemon chicken was dry and chewy. read more

I will never ever go back there. First of all, the menu says juice, $3 with free refills. I got one refill. The bill came and said $8 for juice. Not only was this the most expensive chinese take out I've ever had but it was also the absolute worst food I've ever had in my life. Everything tasted bitter, burnt, and old! The steamed dumplings (which they opted to fry instead) were disgusting, worst ever! The pepper steak with onion was not fresh. It was dried out, crusty, burnt, and bitter tasting and the white rice tasted like minute rice. The General Taos Chicken tasted like the inside was chicken fat and the sauce was sour tasting. The fried rice tasted like burnt plastic. The eggrolls tasted like they came from the freezer section of the dollar store and were very soggy and chewy, definately not fresh. I would have brought it back for a refund but if they have the audacity to serve that junk and charge that much for it, than I don't think they would be the type to give a refund. Such a waste! We have been frequenting this restaurant for 4 years now because they are the only Chinese Restaurant in Rhode Island that offers Gluten free eating for those with Celiac Disease.
