This place has been around since before I was born, I'm in my forty's. I enjoyed it as a little kid with my parents and still do as an adult. VERY disappointed! Used to go here years ago, the food back then was excellent. Fast forward to today, the place looks EXACTLY as it did 24 years ago. The food however was a big disappointment. I was really pleasantly surprised at how good the food was at Dragon Villa. I've passed it for years, but after a wake nearby, my brother and I grabbed some dinner there. The waitstaff was attention and sat us soon after entering. It was pretty busy. I ended up getting the combination plate, since I'm vegetarian- I got the vegetable lo mein and asked for meatless fried rice instead of the pork one that normally comes on the combination plate. I also was able to substitute a spring roll in place of the egg roll. I'm so glad I got the combination plate because WoW the fried rice was awesome. I'd definitely go back just to get the rice. The spring rolls and lo mein wasn't bad either but I don't like water chestnuts so next time I will ask to omit them! read more

The chicago chow mein and the pork strips were good. However the chicken wings, the shrimp and the lo mein were really dry . Big disappointment. Although this restaurant has been around awhile, my wife and I have never been there and decided to try it out on the advice of a friend. Glad we listened! I had what I consider to be the best general tso chicken I've ever had. My wife had the Chicago chow mein combo plate and thought it was average but flavor seemed authentic. Won ton soup was excellent and full of pork. Cabbage , and won tons. 1 complaint,: extra charge for crispy noodles. Not a big deal as it wasn't an unreasonable price. I guess I was just surprised. Food is a 5 out of 10, but it is Chinese-so it's always a subjective opinion. Now is the place a bit on the ghetto fabulous side absolutely. The bar area is trip. Loud, karaoke, vulgarity, and definitely interesting. This place is made for the locals crowd that it draws. I can't recommend it, because I think some people would be intimidated. Not the freshest beef and the dumplings were barely steamed and very doughy. They are quick and very nice.

So it was my first time there. Applause ? Thanks but no need because it was trash where I'm from. I took out the General Tso's Chicken served in a portion controlled takeout container. Placing it in my car it carried no aroma. The amount of food for $10.75 didn't match up at all. Would've been nice to include a fork so because I was out and about and was forced to eat with my hands. The chicken wasn't tender. The egg roll ? Miniature and overcooked. One tree of broccoli in the corner and a torn off piece of bread. Pork and onions were incredibly scarce in the fried rice therefore tasted bland. Only thing good was that the sauce was hot. I've only gotten take out food from the Dragon Villa, but it has always been great. The dining area looks a little plain inside, but the service inside (getting orders to go) seems decent in my opinion. I've gotten food from here quite often and the quality, portion size and value is very good. I've only had a couple of issues when some food items were not in the order, but we called and they made good for it. The parking lot is a little tight and hard to get out of if you park close to the building. I recommend parking a little farther from the building, or at least on the outer side of the parking spaces. This is one of the few decent Chinese restaurants in the area, so I would recommend it. read more

Went last night to dine in with my boyfriend. Met him in the bar and based off the music... We felt like we were in 1992. But don't blame it on the rain, blame it on the other patrons who were in there choosing the tunes! Great for people watching for sure! We moved into the restaurant area. So... we caught a case of the giggles when we first sat down and our waitress was having a really good time with us. But by the end she had lost her laughter and just wanted us out! Very hot and cold. I had to go meatless due to Lent so I ended up with a combo plate of lo mein and friend rice. Nothing too exciting but cooked just fine and the rice is even better with their delicious sweet and sour sauce! He had the chicken wing combo. He said the wings were small and needed just a little bit of seasoning but fried just right! We also got down with the 'funk.' A drink identified on the menu as a few delicious liquors ladies love combined. It was strong! And in a tiki cup- bonus points there. But there was a garnishment of fruit on a long toothpick across the top of the cup. Here's where things get blurry and not from the drink... There was a slice of lemon or orange that was really dry and the peel had blueish green ground into it. I say lemon or orange because we are just unsure! Only one good waitress in the restaurant and she wasn't working. We walked out after we asked for waitress and we were waiting and owner replied she came to our table many times. The repeat trips was she was forgetting everything. After 15 minutes of waiting and 3-4 tables occupied we walked out. Never again and bad attitude from management. Okay so don't expect anything. This place is a straight up dive. I also wouldn't use the bathroom but you be the judge. I placed an over the phone order because this place doesn't have a website or an online menu which doesn't really make sense considering what they charge. I ordered a PuPu for 2 and an order of chicken teriyaki; shouldn't break the bank, right? Welp, I was never told a total over the phone so I had no idea what to expect. I never thought it could be over 30 dollars because as of 4 years ago, the PuPu for 2 was around 16 dollars. I walk in and it's just drab. No life no hope. So I find the door to the seating area and I'm met with this really irritated looking woman behind the counter. She asks my name and grabs my food and says 42 dollars and blah. I'm like what? No way, and she's explaining to me how the establishment and the owners don't claim anything online and if people get prices wrong it's not their fault etc... I'm saying well the owner should at least check yelp or update some of the things online so that customers can make informed decisions. She was talking over me at this point and saying the owner wants nothing to do with any of the internet. Avoid here. They're rude and don't care. The bit of overcharging in previous reviews ARE TRUE. I didn't even get an itemized receipt so trust me they're tipping themselves which is gross. Also, the food was put in the bag like this. Food was hot but their oil is old. Eventually, old oil will kill you. Do with that what you will. Hmu when you find a good Chinese place around here. read more
