I really loved the selection of food available. I will definitely return. It is one of the better buffetts I have eaten at. You need to give it a try as they offer various selections to choose from - Chinese dishes, Japanese sushi, salad, Western dishes, and stir fry. And let's not forget the dessert from ice cream, fruit and pudding.

We chose to come because we were craving some Chinese buffet. The reviews online weren't attractive but since this is the only big buffet around the area we decided to give it a go with pretty low expectations. We came pretty late at around 8 pm (they close at 10) on MLK day. There was a sign that said that even if it was a Monday, they'll be charging a holiday price. It's not that much of a difference: regular $15.99, weekends/holidays $16.99. When we went inside there was someone to attend to us immediately and we got our table right away. The interior is very dark. There were very little lights on inside except for the warmer lights for the food counters. We were sat by the windows and requested to sit somewhere away from the big glass windows because it was very cold outside. They happily obliged and told us we can sit pretty much anywhere, which was still cold but it worked. I started with the grill. There wasn't much options but they were decent. The proteins were chicken, beef, imitation crab, shrimp, and there were a bit of vegetables if you choose not to eat fish or meats. I'll say that if you have allergies or strict dietary restrictions, do not go to the grill area. The grill cross-contaminate and they cook everything in one spot. Multiple people's dishes at once. There were options for sauce like teriyaki sauce, garlic, etc. I left it to the cook to choose my sauces and mine tasted decent. 8/10 I got a spicy tuna sushi and some other proteins like salmon. I saw that they were still refilling the sushi bar at that hour. The sushi was bland and the rice was cold. The salmon had no taste, just a lot of salt. I found that majority of the food was heavily salted but had very little flavour, which indicates that they are not fresh. I am giving a fair rate of 5/10 for the hot foods because it was an hour before closing and they might have had only the leftovers left on the counters, but the sushi was a solid 2/10 because they just did not have any taste and it was cold. The ice cream was also pretty much out so I didn't get to taste as much. It was pretty hard to get them out of the buckets. I wish it was replaced more regularly. The ice cream counter smelled like strong bleach though for some reason. The whole time we were dining, the servers were timely in taking our plates away and served us with a smile. Water was served quickly. Everyone was pleasant. By the time we wanted to pay, they didn't ask for a tip at the counter so we gave them cash directly. 10/10 service. The bathrooms were very clean, it smelled like bleach from the door to the stalls, and the floors looked like they were recently mopped. Just a tip, maybe go light on the bleach because the bleach smell was very strong. Otherwise very clean and tidy. Overall if I came back it would be for the grill and service.

Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet touts itself as the largest restaurant in the East Providence area. They have a wide selection of favorite foods including Chinese, Japanese, American, Italian and Mexican items on their supreme buffet. There is something for everyone. Their main feature is the Hibachi Style Grill. Customers can select their own meats and vegetables and have it cooked by a professional Hibachi chef while watching their meal be prepared right in front of them. My plate was overly salty. I asked the cook to use garlic and soy sauce, lightly....the resulting combination was so salty, I had to add white rice to my plate to tone it down. Every day they offer over 150 items on their buffet bar to include all of your traditional Chinese dishes and a few specialty items such as Hibachi Chicken, Beef Tenderloin & Italian Shrimp. Available on their dinner buffet is prime choice ribeye steak. For those individuals that are vegetarian there is a large salad buffet with fresh vegetables, many toppings and a wide variety of dressings including a special ranch dressing that is made fresh daily. If you're looking for sushi, Hibachi Grill offers daily a sushi bar with a selection of freshly prepared sushi. I tried three varieties and they were below average. None of them had a name tag, so you really don't know what type of sushi you are eating. Not a place for sushi lovers... They also have several kid friendly food items, such as pizza, mashed potatoes and homemade yeast rolls. The dessert buffet is filled with a wide variety of fresh fruit, pastries and cookies. In addition to the dessert bar, is a large ice cream buffet with 8 different flavors to choose from. These ones you scoop yourself with an ice cream scoop....not single serve portions like other places. Overall, there were a few things that I liked ok, like the beef ribs, chicken wings, soups, fried plantains, vegetable fried rice, clams, boneless chicken, orange chicken, General Tso's chicken.....some things I would not get again were the sushi and the hibachi, the chicken on a stick, the boiled pollock, and the broccoli chicken ( very salty). Staff is friendly and prompt taking the dirty dishes away. Plenty of parking in the large lot.

Wasn't bad but wasn't great, some of the foods tasted a little rubbery especially seafood wise, the crispy chicken finger I got was mushy on the inside and looked under cooked. Most of the other foods were really good. Crawfish, most deserts, Honey Chicken, Lo mein, and Crab Rangoon were pretty amazand service was good but the sodas were warm. Got ice to fix that and it ended up just making it lose the fizz.. honestly it's more of a know what to get kinda thing. The vibe and tables are pretty nice.

I feel like this place has been here all my life! Ever since elementary school I've been coming here loading my plate. This buffet has a variety of food for an extremely cheap price. It taste like the chicken is from a package and frozen now which is disappointing. The honey chicken is the best one there. The crab rangoons are also pretty good but tiny. One of the nice parts about this buffet is they have a desert and ice cream section which always a plus. They even have military discount which surprises me since the price was already unbelievably low. I come here every so often and will do always do as long as they're open.

I have to update my review with covid updates. I have been avoiding restaurants but I had the overwhelming curiosity to see how they were doing. I was greeted and directed to the takeout boxes. The hostess said only take out. No all you can eat. They had 3 half steam tables going. Not much to choose from. People were making their own dishes. No servers. No supervision. I thought they should make people wash their hands or wear gloves or they should serve them. NoVVWV1B1FW1G0WG1S0 A. I walked to the register and paid $14 for my food. $5 more than all you can eat. I got in the car to eat and food was cold. I got my second covid vaccine a couple days before but I was very uncomfortable with the people all handling the same serving utensils, and the food being cold.

    Inside, looking up.

Since you'll be approaching a buffet, I proudly present my review in easy-to-follow bulleted style - perfect for buffet browsing! The Wins _ The $9.99 for lunch price tag! _ the great service _ the nice, dimly lit interiors _ friend plantains/bananas _ bok choy _ chicken & broccoli _ crab rangoons _ black raspberry ice cream (dare I say, some of the best I've had in New England) _ tea Pass On The... _ spring rolls (only meh) _ honey chicken (srsly blah) _ chicken teriyaki (dry) Enjoy!

We were promptly seated at a table, and our waiter appeared shortly afterward. We ordered water, a beer, a Chardonnay, two glasses of red sangria, and a side glass of ice. One of the sangrias had to be returned because it was cloudy and didn't taste right. This was quickly corrected, and the replacement was good. The glass of ice never arrived, but we didn't bother following up on it. We shared two appetizers, the calamari and a Caesar salad. The salad was excellent. The calamari seemed like a much smaller portion than we've received in the past, and we also found it somewhat dry. Our entrées were the tuna, paella, eggplant Milanese, and half chicken. We enjoyed all of them with the exception of the chicken. We preferred the previous version of this dish and found the potatoes soft and mushy. Service was very good at the beginning of the meal, but as the evening progressed, the restaurant became very busy and our very nice server was handling a large number of tables. Perhaps Hemenway's was a little short-staffed on this busy Saturday evening. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and certainly intend to return. First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. Benjamin's Easter Buffet 2025…read more I don't normally leave bad reviews but this felt necessary. Let me paint you a picture of Easter at Benjamin's: My family of 9 adults had a reservation for their 3pm seating. When we arrived a little before 3, we had to wait in a line that was out the door of the restaurant and down a long hotel hallway. We were pretty far down, and as we came in people were wishing us luck or calling other restaurants to see if they could go there instead. It was like being on the RMS Titanic- a foreboding sense of inevitable danger ahead. We were worried about our 3 elderly family members being able to stand in line, but luckily the line started moving after 10 minutes or so. When my party got to the front, we were seated. They did not ask if we had a reservation- just led us to a table. Half our group was cut off by another party that just arrived, claiming they had priority because they had a reservation. Hah! So did everyone else in that line but okay. Anyway, the rest of our party joined us, our waiter brought out 2 carafes of water, and told us his tables would be going first. He felt really bad for the customers, you could tell. We asked him about the food they ran out of as people were muttering about that in line. He said they were out of garden salad and turkey (because they dropped it, apparently. Huh.) but they were also out of bread rolls. If you're going to have three buffet seatings- have food for all three. So the buffet itself was outside the dining room. They had opened at least one other banquet hall at the hotel to fit people, so they were all coming toward this buffet table. Luckily, we were first in line. There were three servers at the buffet for 11 trays of food so it took forever. The scrambled eggs looked awful- very dry. No one piece of bacon looked like it was cooked the same- some of mine were crispy some were chewy. Sausage was fine. They gave you two pieces of each. Stingy! One of my two French toast sticks was hard as a rock. Potatoes were okay. I went to get coffee at the next table and Oop! There wasn't enough to fill a cup in the one canister on the table. No one seemed to be in a rush to bring out more though. The dessert table had some danishes and another tray of blondie crumbs. While eating this first plate, someone finally came around to ask what the name of our reservation was. Better late than never! Our waiter brought us a whole coffee pot because he knew we didn't get any, complete with fresh cream and sugars. After finishing our first plates, some of us headed back to the buffet for round 2. But lo and behold the line was back around the corner! A family friend dining in another section of the restaurant told us that at this point, they had only just received water. Yikes! We did not want to wait in line, so we waited at our table for a bit. Some of us never even returned to the buffet table. A few of us did head back now that the line had died down. I set a timer; it took 14 minutes and 43 seconds from the time I entered the line until I was back at my table. When you reached the buffet area, they had now diverted the line to start at the ham carving table rather than the eggs, so the feng shui was even worse than before, with the line now stretching across the small buffet area. This time, I got the lunch offerings. The ham was alright. The mashed potatoes were incredibly salty. The carrots were mushy on the outside but hard on the inside. The scrod was fine and the penne was fine. There was a welcome addition to brownies at the dessert table. We could've paid extra for a better dessert selection off the menu though. We were not as wise as our fellow diners who complained and got comped, so my elderly grandfather who was paying for our meal paid full price for this, at $35 per person. Oh, and they didn't tell us about the credit card processing fee, costing an extra $10. Thank you to our waiter who tried to make this doomed experience a little better! Suffice to say, we will not be returning to Benjamin's.
