Used to be decent. Gone way down hill. Coffee cup full of white rice? Should be a full container. It also cost like 4 bucks more when I got there. What changed? And then of course they charged a credit card fee. Folks: if you own a business, credit card fees are the cost of doing business, same as bags or takeout containers. Do not under any circumstances try to pass that off. It's illegal in RI and most states. I report every business that tries to pass it off as "merchant fees". First time here although I live 5 minutes away. I'm more of a Thai food guy but a friend suggested I try their wings as I love spicy wings but have been less than thrilled with the wing options in East Providence. I stopped in without calling in first and ordered spicy wings and sticky wings. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and efficient. MeiSing in Riverside is the worst Chinese food I've ever had. ‍‍‍ I think I've written one other review in my life, but this was so bad I felt the need to write it. I've been eating "Chinese" food since I was about 3. I've never ever had chicken cow mein with the hard noodles already in the sauce and soggy or with Dark chicken! I've also never had chicken fingers with Dark rubbery meat and soft skin, no crunch! The pork fried rice was no where near up to a standard fried rice. I didn't want to admit this to myself, but I honestly think I had someone else's left overs. The chicken was such a weird texture in the cow mein and the fingers! It was such a disappointment! I've lived in the area for 7 years now...and have been enjoying Meising ever since. (And yes, I've tried other places in the area...this one is the best, in my opinion, for straight up Chinese food in the East Providence area.) One of my favorite items to get at a Chinese takeout place is boneless ribs. Meising has 'the good ones!!' Most places offer boneless ribs that are small little bite sized pieces of hard pork where you can only eat about half the order at best. Meising has the B-I-G soft juicy boneless ribs!! (I only know of one other place that has those and it's in Swansea) I appreciate that they are able to make custom changes to my order even when I place it online - and if it's not clear, the owner calls to clarify what you want. The owner is also just really sweet in general. Other items I've enjoyed here are the pork fried rice, chicken chop suey, egg rolls, rangoons, and - a personal favorite - the crispy fried tofu with veggies and garlic sauce (ask for sauce on the side so your tofu retains it's crispiness for when it's delivered!) Also, pro tip: call in your order or place your order (easily) via their website - don't use GrubHub (et al) as prices are always higher on those - which is outside of the control of the establishment. This is your typical takeout Chinese fair. It's consistent and decent, so why two starts? The prices! Chinese restaurants of this sort are a dime a dozen. Was just looking for a take out Chinese food place near work, went on Yelp for some ideas and landed here. They have online ordering on their website so you are able to view their entire menu and checkout right online. They do not require your payment information but they still prepare your meal and provide the available time for pick up (typically 30 min). Lunch menu is super reasonable, under $6 for a meal with fried rice and soda or spring water. Ordered the shrimp and broccoli (recommendation from someone on yelp) and an egg roll. The shrimp was huge! I thought I was just going to get those measly mini shrimp most places serve, nope this was jumbo shrimp and tasted delicious. The fried rice was really good and the egg roll was good. Egg rolls are tough bc some places just don't do it right. This was not the weird ground up meat, it was more veggies, would order again. Was in the area. Happened in and was looking at a menu. A patron was scratching lottery tickets with the hostess and told me, "don't worry, everything is good here." I got a lemon chicken, chicken chow mein, pork fried rice, and crab rangoon. The lemon chicken was all little pieces, no thicker than a slice of bacon. They were very chewy. The fried rice tasted like old fry grease. The chow mein was soggy and didn't taste of much. The crab Rangoon were also soggy and also had a funny taste.
