    Onion Soup

I was in the mood for some Japanese food, so I stopped by Wasabi in Georgetown--it's a convenient spot with a nice overall decor that gives off a cozy Asian vibe, though it could use a bit of a refresh and deep clean. The service was friendly and attentive, which helped make the experience enjoyable. I ordered the hibachi steak with scallops, which came with the usual soup, salad, and fried rice. While the portion was generous, the dish leaned more toward a Chinese-style broccoli beef flavor than traditional hibachi--tasty in its own way, but not quite what I expected for Japanese. The scallops were on the smaller side (about quarter-sized and thin), and overall, the entrée felt like it might have been prepped in advance rather than cooked fresh to order. The onion soup was a simple chicken broth, which was comforting but not distinctly Japanese. Prices are a bit on the higher side for the quality and authenticity delivered. If you're craving solid Chinese takeout flavors in a sit-down setting, I'd come back for that--but I'd probably skip it if I'm specifically in the mood for Japanese cuisine. I did enjoy the fortune cookie, got a good laugh out of it.

Lunch Specials include Egg roll, fried rice, soup or salad. Plainly stated.

When a customer order a lunch special entree, don't tell them that it doesn't come with fried rice because it plainly states that all lunch specials come with egg roll, fried rice and soup or salad. Just honor the request and bring fried rice. If you don't want to include fried rice then change the menu. Major fail!

Came in to try something new, was pleasantly surprised by the new dishes. Service was amazing as always. Amber and Henry do a great job at being attentive. The lighting is great as well, not too dark or overly bright. Can't wait to return!

    Calamari

Don't order the calamari appetizer. The 9.95 calamari for 5 small pieces was disheartening. The rest of our meal was par. Really disappointing. wanted it to have improved since our last visit. The service was good.

It never fails! Wasabi's sushi is always so fresh! I come here about twice a month and you can always count on the freshness. Tonight I ordered their fried veggie rolls for the first time and they are to die for! Each order comes with three egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce. The rolls came out so crispy and hot! (Be careful though because they do come out pretty hot and can burn your tongue if you bite into them to quickly). Also note their is a bit of a spicy kick to them as well so if you are adverse to any spice these may not be the rolls for you. I personally love a little spice to my food so my palate was very happy! I also ordered the Dancing Salman roll, the Philly roll as well Salman and tuna sushi. All around delightful! Additionally, the staff is very friendly, humorous and make you feel so welcomed. I have sparked up multiple conversations with members of their team and they put a smile on my face. I always leave happy and full!

    This was my Crab Puff.

I called to order lunch on a weekday only to be told " no lunch menu because it's a holiday". I asked for packets of duck sauce only to be told " oh we don't have that". Very seldom do I order because of previous issue but wanted to try again , and well...... still not impressed.

This is an amazing little gem in Georgetown. I come here at least a couple times a year although I wish I came more often! The sushi is always fresh and full of flavor. If sushi is not your thing, they also have some amazing cooked dishes for those who don't share the love of raw fish. The people here are always really friendly and try really hard to keep you happy. The place is always calm and quiet so it is a good spot to chill. This is a MUST VISIT in Georgetown, especially if you like SUSHI!

Terrible food. I always loved it but won't go back there to eat. Sushi was not fresh.

It was tempura shrimp and it wasn't peppery (they just stuck jalapeño slices in there). It tasted fine but it's not what I ordered. There is one with chicken and another a vegetarian broth. My friend had the vegetarian option this evening. I had a taste of hers and how that broth was so rich and flavorful with no meat base blew my mind!! Tonight, I gave up my secret that I have never tried saki before. I find it kind of embarrassing considering I'm 53 years old and I grew up in Minneapolis where we have a large Asian community yet I have never tried sake! As I was waiting for my table, my friend and I decided to belly up at the bar. Between the bartender and the gentleman seated to my left, I was given a few suggestions based on a few questions they asked me. Then the bartender was so kind to give me 3 samples! I would have never asked him for that. In fact, I would have bought a flight if one was offered on the menu. I even suggested they TEALLY should consider offering that being it's Williamson County in Georgetown, Texas, not everybody has tried sake however, if one was offered, I would've spent money on it instead they didn't.... As a new restaurant, I would want to be keeping track of inventory or loss or at least competent off of my ticket to make it a tax write off? Idk- anyways. I did finally make a selection. I forget the name of it, but it was very light and it tasted like peaches. I enjoyed it and I'm glad that I tried tonight. As I said earlier, I was with a friend and it was her first time going to this restaurant this evening. She loved the food. She was very impressed by the customer service. I have to agree. I also "had an experience tonight." That is what made the service was exceptional. I think it's a great addition to Georgetown. Our Georgetown Square is becoming a little more flavorful. Shoot! We have Ramen on one block and .2 miles around the corner is "Cozy Cannabis!" That's certainly a new Georgetown compared to 10 years ago. Thank God - we need more culture in this town!
