First time at Wasabi. Service was excellent. Food not so much. The egg roll was tough, doughy and had no filling. The hot and sour soup was spicy hot ( which I loved) but overly sweet. We had lunch specials - pork with veg and shrimp with veg. The fried rice was tasteless without a single spec of onion or veg. The entrees were bleh. Canned veg with barely cooked broccoli and frozen not fresh protein. I really want to like this place so I am going back for sushi. Hoping fresh food will be better. read more

Beautiful dining area, the servers are really accommodating, and the food is fantastic. They recognize us every time we come in and seem happy to see us every time. The presentation of the food is awesome as well! I always order a lot of pieces of sashimi sushi and with enough orders it comes to the table on a boat. How cool is that??? There's also some genius in having the food channel playing on the one tv that I have to appreciate. We'll be coming here often, for sure. This place rocks! I use to enjoy the food but recently I went and let's just say I have given enough chances and each time it is worse then the time before.

We've tried this place twice, and we're disappointed. The first time we ordered albacore and the sushi chef gave us some kind of bright white fish that was definitely NOT albacore, and when we asked him to check he was ready to throw down and swear on his momma' slide it was albacore- but it wasn't. The fish is not fresh tasting either like it should be for sushi - for those of you who are new to eating raw fish - it's NEVER supposed to taste or smell fishy. Then, I went a second time and same kind of experience with the not-so-fresh fish. But the real kicker was, while I was sitting there finishing eating with my cousin, the waiter came by and asked if we had used one of the plates that was on the table. We said no, so he picks it up and puts it back on the shelf to let someone else use it. So, when I was waiting tables neither I nor my fellow wait staff or busses would ever re-use a plate, glass or eating utensil once it had been on the table. The process order for dishes, glasses and eating utensils, for you Marcus Lemonis fans, is - dishwasher - storage shelf - table - repeat The general cleanliness of the restaurant was also lacking. It's truly a shame, but we will not be going back. read more

I have come to Wasabi on a number of occasions for takeout, and it has typically been quite good. I came this evening with my family. Dine-in. We were seated in the back at a table for two although there were three of us. I got the attention of a waitress who brought us another chair. We then sat waiting for somebody to take our order for 10 full minutes. There were at least five waitresses/bussers in there buzzing past us but I could not get eye contact from anybody. I'm not the kind a guy who's going to jump up and wave his arms, so we folded our napkins and departed in favor of eating at home. I did mention on the way out that we sat for 10 minutes without assistance, and the gal at the front counter was nice about it. With that many staff running around in there and no real back up of diners at the front, it was just not good service. read more

Got to meet the owner Ciara (hopefully that's how I spell it, if not, sorry girl) she was a total sweetheart and congratulated me on expecting my first child and have us Miso soup and Egg rolls..both absolutely delicious. Me and my daughter came here after a long and hot day of work. We were welcomed with amazing service and immediately sat down at a booth. Sierra was our server and greeter, she exceeded all expectations we had! Was knowledgeable about the wine list and different sushi and soups they offer which helped in our decision making. After a long day you don't want to have to think about what to eat you just want something good! My daughter got her favorite egg drop soup with white rice and I got one of the sushi specials called the explosion roll! Absolutely phenomenal and I will say, my daughter is VERY picky about her egg drop soup. It was an all around win!! We will be coming back regularly! a friend brought some rolls to a party a few weeks ago and they were good. So I thought I'd try them out for lunch .... WRONG! It took 10 minutes to seat us because the tables were dirty ... Empty but dirty. That's fine... Then it took forever to get a drink order in .... And another 10 minutes to order our food. 30 minutes of my lunch break just to order. Not a great start. I sent an email explaining that I'd be late returning from lunch. This just wasn't going well... The food finally came out. But my order was wrong. The server argued with me. "Excuse me, I ordered Garlic Pork." "Yea yea. This is your order." "No - garlic pork has pork and garlic in it. This doesn't have either!" "No no no - that's how we cook it. This is your order!" Tasted like crap! It was twice cooked pork .... Which I like but not from here! Somehow the chef got confused and thought it meant two pieces of pork and lots of veggies that were WAY OVER COOKED. MUSH! I ate the fried rice ... I wanted steamed. My son got the Mongolia Beef - YUCK! Slimy beef that had way too much corn starch and onions. Mostly it was a plate of onions which was good because the meat was absolutely terrible! We dared each other to try the food. "I double dog dare you to take a big bite!" "Ah come on - I'll lick the floor. Just don't make me eat this crap!" We also ordered a tuna roll ... At was average. How bad can it be? The tuna was the HEB yellowfin with a white rice and a wrap. 30 minutes later my son and I are fighting over the bathroom. Hope we have enough TP!!! Worst experience I've had in a long time. They don't have a website, so you can't order by phone unless you already have a menu....and if you walk in to try to order sushi at lunch, they tell you there is a "25 minute wait".... I tried the sushi once before and wasn't impressed, but I decided to go back and try them once again...should have known better. Meeeeeh. Not fantastic, but not horrible. I'm still a regular because there isn't much sushi in town. Service was really good though, so that's a plus for them. Decor is nice and the ambience is pretty good. Each time I've come, the restaurant has always been busy. They serve Japanese and Chinese cuisine. I was disappointed that they didn't have Udon noodle soup, but hey, I'm not one to complain - at least there's sushi in town. It's better than no sushi at all. Ok, so let me explain why I rated this place like I did - I feel like all the specialty sushi rolls are the same. Kind of like Mexican food, same repetitive ingredients, just in different combinations. Does that make sense? So whenever I order the sushi, I get overwhelmed since I can't decide what I want when I look at the menu, then I can't remember what I picked because all the rolls are so similar. I started to wonder if I needed a side order of Echinacea for my inability to remember what I was ordering (no...echinacea is not on the menu just in case you were wondering.) I'd recommend improving the sushi menu by varying your rolls and making them more unique. It's just that they all kind of...blend together...it's like tuna, avocado, occasional eel, cream cheese, and spicy tuna, same ingredients but just in different arrangements. That being said, I still come here because the sushi is decent and service is good. Variety in sushi could be better, but this is still good for Georgetown. read more

In fairness this is for sushi and service only. I can't speak to the hot dishes. Also, I am used to very fresh, very good quality sushi. See Purple Sushi in Greenville, SC for what I am used to eating. I walked in to be seated and one waitress was talking to patron, looked at me and went right back to talking. Another waitress quickly came from the back to seat me. Wasabi was recommended to be by someone and so I went in for dinner. I had the jalapeño yellowtail, ama ebi, and yellowtail/scallion roll. Their menu indicates the jalapeño yellowtail is served with an aioli type sauce- thankfully it was incorrect and they used ponzu. The problem was the jalapeno was pickled jalapeno. The flavors were very much at odds with one another and didn't sit well with the yellowtail. The roll was fine - but way too much rice that was squeezed way to hard. The roll was coming apart on the plate and it was like eating a rice cake with a hint of fish. The ama ebi (sweet shrimp) should be avoided at all cost. The head was not fully cooked and served with eel sauce (!) and didn't appear to be really fried. The meat was also off and didn't taste quite right. read more
