Was looking for a Peruvian place to eat and Warike hit the spot. The portion of the empanadas were generous as the portion comes in 3 ( perfect for my party). This place was a pleasant surprise - the description said tapas but it definitely wasn't and it has a "fast food restaurant vibe" when you see the menu. BUT the food and drinks were so good, we had little to complain about. All the ceviches were delicious! We tried clásico, Warike, la crema. Pulpo al olivo - was okay, nothing special, we definitely thought it would be grilled tentacles, it was more like a octopus salad (like a potato salad). Lomo saltado clásico - the steak was so tender!! Really delicious, definitely needed a little more steak. The rice I think was coconut? Unsure but it was delicious. Arroz con mariscos - a little salty and a little too mushy but still tasty Ají de gallina - also really tasty but a little on the mushy side (but I've never had this before so unsure how it's supposed to be). The portions are decent, 6 of us shared 3 ceviches, 2 pulpo, 3 main courses. The cocktails are tasty also - a little pricey so how much you get. read more

OMG this place deserves 10 stars not 5!!! I'm Peruvian and my mom used to cater in Peru for 40 years so I'm very demanding when it comes to food but this place totally exceeded my expectations and so far it's the best Peruvian restaurant I've had in the USA. I ordered pesto with steak and it was cooked to perfection. Pasta was creamy al dente and the steak was cooked just the right way. Congratulations to Waldir the Chef an to Nick who were both amazing and know how to treat you with great love. So despite having a little of a delay in making a reservation, I was able to go to Warike with my family and ordered the ceviche clasico (2) and the causa as appetizers and they were excellent. We also ordered the arroz con mariscos and the clasico lomo saltado. Once inside, the service and ambiance were great and we are planning to come back the only thing I regret is not having enough alfajores and lucuma ice cream. Was excited to try Warike during my recent wine country trip, based on the Yelp reviews. For me, Warike was overrated. Cocktails: Pisco sour was fine, Warike Sour was bizarre, tasting like a winter beverage (think cloves and nutmeg). Food: I'm normally a fan of ceviche, but ceviche clasico here was woefully over-limed, leading to pucker-inducing sourness. Veggie lentil dish was egregiously over-salted, but tasty otherwise. Quinoa salad was very good, the best dish of the night. Ambiance: festive and immersive. Total was $50/person, all-in. Food: 3 Ambiance: 4 Service: 4 Value: 2 Given the relatively high-prices, I can't recommend this spot, and understand why it was much less busy than nearby restaurants on a recent evening. read more

We just came for cocktails, which were delicious and made quickly. However, this place smells like mold. It's bad, and as someone sensitive to smells, it dampened my experience there. My friend had ceviche de Clasico (20$) and I had ceviche a la creama (20$) The servings were good size . My friend's was tart and lemony and mine was spicy and very flavorful. The presentation was beautiful . The place is obviously a bar with great cocktails which we did not try . I wish they had lunch menu with sampling of Peruvian cuisine . The ceviche was large and filling but I would have loved to sample other things . If I were going to change anything, I would switch out more comfortable chairs, but I am fussy about every little thing, and really for an hour or two the chairs are okay. I have been there twice. Both times we were there during happy hour and ordered drinks under the impression via conversation that we were getting happy hour pricing. They have easily removable adds for happy hour which look like paper weights on each table and a sandwich board outside. On New Year's Day: when the bill arrived they charged us full price. When asked about it, the server replied: "Sorry but my manager said we are not doing it today." I simply said: You should have removed these from the tables and let us know. I gave them a second chance assuming it was a one off occurrence. The next time we went in , we had a whole conversation around the happy hour and ordered only wine and cocktails and again they made an excuse that our selections were not part of it... I then asked what selections are and he went to find an old looking paper menu that he said they were out of many of the items and they were subject to availability. They did have friendly servers which I felt bad for and thus we still tipped generously. They also have a dish we really enjoyed and were generous with their seafood portion. My advice to you if you eat here is that you specifically ask for the "Happy Hour drinks" and make things loud and clear from the get. My advice to them: Don't nickel and dime your patrons over drinks and honor your signage. During happy hour, fully inform all guests what is reflected and have those menus on the table during these times like the Starks family. read more

Came here tonight just for after dinner cocktails, with the experience I had, I'm bummed we didn't start our night here. It was our first time visiting Warike, and first impression...WOW! Such a clean, beautiful and colorful environment (definitely a social media influencers dream). We were immediately greeted by not just one, but two friendly staff members. We were sat by the bar and given drink recommendations (phenomenal ones) we had the Warike Mule, Pisco Sour and the Maracuya Sour (my favorite). The drinks were delicious and staff checked in and engaged in genuine conversation with us, our waitress seemed so happy to be there and talked about their other location called Ayawaska which we will be sure to check out. We were happily vibing to the fun music and enjoying our drinks. We will definitely be sure to come for dinner along with drinks next time! read more

AJI DE GALLINA - Husband loved it, though perhaps "more sauce would be better", but he still really liked it. For me it was good & we were sharing our meals. We do take-out only bc of the covid situation & we eat all our meals in the car near the restaurants we eat at. Boxes were great - paper, and we got our utensils (to be recycled later) from the restaurant. Lastly: you can finally drive down 4th Street again! HOORAY!! Both ways! This is across from the La Rosa place & near where the old shuttered Bollywood Restaurant was (they started out great btw, amazing but then went downhill during the pandemic - shame!). I had no regrets ordering the octopus or the salmon salad. It breaks my heart to order sealife to have it overcooked or over seasoned. The chef's preparation of both were outstanding.
