First off, the restaurant is beautiful, very clean, comfortable seating, just amazing! I've been to a lot of Portuguese restaurants, my husband is Portuguese and his mom cooks the most delicious Portuguese food, this place did not disappoint. My favorite was the shrimp ceviche, and the cod, but everything was top notch! Just delicious! Service was fine, they could work on being a bit more friendly.

Rain or shine my friends & I drove to Sonoma for the sale event & even had a wine tasting at Buena Vista today. Later we asked the staff for the favorite restaurants in Sonoma downtown. He wrote a few and two of them I had dined already years ago. We opted Tasca Tasca for tapas just off Sonoma Plaza. It was past 3 pm when we arrived at the restaurant, no reservation just walked in. Nice restaurant & we got our choice of table. I saw the sign on the wall that read Sousa's Restaurant and we got confused because we were not sure if we were at the right restaurant but we were. It was formerly owned by Sousa's and its historic sign was acquired by the chef Manuel Azevedo of T&T. The server asked if we ate here before & we said it was our first time. We asked for cold water only to drink. She helped us in our decision on the menu. We ordered the 7 items for $62 which was great for sharing with friends! We had Steak Tartare, Raw Oysters, Shrimp Empada, Chourico & Peppers, Pork Slider, Goat Stew, & Escargot. Service was friendly & timely. The Portuguese tapas were served cute in small plates. However, my friends & I tasted the escargot & sauce were salty. They were tiny hard chewy tidbits. The tiny oysters were not too fresh & plump. The shrimp empada was kind of dark like on the verge of burning. I was hoping it would be golden brown & crispy or with softer, flakier crusts like on their website. The server said they were always dark but I tasted empadas but not like this. The rest were good food. The server kept on checking on us. If we return, we will try the other tapas on the menu. I recommend this restaurant for light meals.

Really enjoyed this tapas restaurant . . . Everyone seems to suggest The Girl and The Fig when I visit Sonoma, but I tried it once and found the service was a big disappointment. Tasca Tasca, however, has both great food and great service so I would definitely recommend this to vacationers and residents alike. The menu at first sounded a bit daunting for a pescatarian (i.e., duck, pork sausage, tripe, steak tartare, GOAT stew, etc.) but I was pleasantly surprised that they offered modifications to dishes and even had a printed list of items they could adjust to make vegetarian or vegan. Items are served tapas style on a board in separate, small dishes and pans so the presentation is quite nice. The Lupini Beans were a fun find and became a quick favorite for me. They are similar to hominy but more flavorful and with a little pop when you bite into them. The Escargot was surprisingly bland but there were many other delicious items we tried: Roasted Beet Salad, Piri Piri Potatoes, Shishito Peppers, Mac & Cheese, Potatoes with Truffle Butter and Shrimp Empadas. The sangria was really delicious and the Port flight was something I hadn't seen on a menu before. Overall a nice, fresh experience.

Cute and intimate Portuguese tapas - no frills place in Sonoma. The perfect spot to share a meal with friends. We ordered just the right amount of food, libations and dessert to nibble on without the guilt. Enjoyed the personable service, establishment. Thank you!

Thank you note from Chef Manuel

A quaint, tapas restaurant in Sonoma, Tasca Tasca is a perfect spot for lunch in between tastings! Setting: Cozy Portuguese tavern aesthetic with warm wood tones and a relaxed, lively atmosphere. Service: The waitstaff was busy, and it was understandably tough to get their attention. The homemade caramels at the end from the chef were a sweet touch. Food: Flavor-packed and thoughtfully plated. The peri peri chicken was juicy with the right kick, oysters fresh and briny, cucumber gazpacho refreshing and bright. Loved the refreshing feta salad and crispy patatas bravas. Flan was smooth, rich, and the perfect sweet note to end on.

Portugal Found a Home in Sonoma: Just off the square in Sonoma sits a little gem that punches far above its weight: Tasca Tasca. It's cozy, open-kitchen charm hits you the second you walk in--staff buzzing, pans sizzling, and the aroma of garlic, saffron, and wine whispering you're in the right place. This isn't your average tapas spot. Think Portuguese soul food done with precision and heart. Every dish we had felt curated, balanced, and steeped in tradition with just enough flair to surprise you. Standouts? All of them. Kale salad with anchovy dressing--umami meets crunch, humble but addictive. best presentation and taste I've had with kale in some time. Monterey squid with white beans--tender, rustic, coastal perfection. Boquerones--bright, briny, almost kissed with vinegar on a hard boiled egg. Steak tartare--rich, vibrant, and not shy with seasoning. Saffron piri-piri potatoes--like a hug from Lisbon's spice rack. Don't miss the aioli it's on the bottom. Hints of saffron awaken any taste buds still napping. Goat stew--slow-cooked, fall-apart, earthy magic. And then our dessert choice knocked us flat: Portuguese olive oil ice cream and a chocolate mousse--what even is that flavor combo? Unholy? Divine? Either way, it works. BOOM. But the real kicker--the sangria. Easily the best I've ever had. Pomegranate and passionfruit with just the right balance of sweet and tart, layered and lush. A drink worth driving for. Tasca Tasca doesn't shout. It just does everything right. From the friendly, knowledgeable staff to the warm atmosphere and that clear love of food--it's the kind of place you tell your friends about and secretly hope they never make a reservation before you do. Highly, highly recommended. This is a taste trip worth taking. Cheers and thank you!

Empanadas, sardine pate, goat stew, ceviche, gazpacho, chicken wings, duck

3.5 stars for us! We've come here twice now and both visits were decent but nothing quite stood out to us. The first time around we sampled 5 dishes. This time, we tried seven. The empanadas are delish and probably our favorite thing here. I like the red pepper mayo that it comes with. The goat stew is tender and cooked well, but with the gamey flavor of goat, we realized that we prefer goat with a sauce/curry of some sort. The soup of the day was a refreshing cucumber gazpacho that was great for a warm summer evening. The sardine pate, ceviche, and chicken wings were decent. Nothing to write home to. The duck reminded of bacon for whatever reason. The caramels that they give at the end of the meal are sooo good! So soft and gooey rather than chewy!

Sooo yummy!!!

We absolutely LOVE this restaurant! Absolutely phenomenal food and service!!!!! We love the stray tartar, chicken wings, oysters, kale salad, scallops (omg so good!!) The ambience is so beautiful and such good vibes! We are regulars and will always come back to our favorite place! I'm just

Too tasty for me to stop and take a pic then it's all gone!

Great food and fantastic service. Fun setting to have a casual hang out. My sis and I love the food and drinks.

Tapas are so fun to share as a group! We got the fried green beans, crab empanadas, ceviche, anchovies, salt cod cake, shishito peppers, duck breast, Mac and cheese, scallops and pig trotter terrine. Try everything! The cured meats and seafood are definitely worth getting! We don't often get dessert at lunch but the chocolate piri piri ice cream was fun to try! The service was good. They weren't too busy on a Sunday afternoon, so the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Tasca Tasca is one of those rare places that manages to be a fun experience with great food. Located in a lively area with a great champagne bar Sigh and other local businesses nearby, it's the kind of spot that instantly makes you want to stay a while--whether you're popping in for a quick bite or planning a long evening of sharing plates and sipping wine. The concept here is simple but brilliant: you can order tapas in sets of 3, 5, or 7--perfect for customizing your experience. Whether you're going solo or coming with a group, the flexibility is a dream. Sharing a board with friends is part of the magic, but honestly, each dish is so good it's hard not to want one all to yourself. Let's talk about the food, because Tasca Tasca delivers some of the most flavorful and thoughtfully crafted small plates around. Fried Piri-Piri Potatoes with Saffron Aioli: These crispy, golden bites are perfectly seasoned with just enough spice, and the creamy saffron aioli takes them to another level. They're addictive--don't be surprised if you order a second round. Pork Slider with Port BBQ Sauce: Tender, juicy pork meets a rich, sweet-savory sauce with the depth only port can bring. It's bold, balanced, and absolutely delicious. Goat Stew with Fingerling Potatoes: The goat is melt-in-your-mouth tender, with earthy, comforting flavors that pair beautifully with the rustic potatoes. Shrimp Empadas with Red Pepper Mayo: Think of these as the Portuguese answer to a savory hand pie--flaky on the outside, packed with shrimp inside, and paired with a peppery, slightly smoky mayo that ties it all together. Bacalhau (Salt Cod Cakes): These are a Portuguese classic done right. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside--perfectly salty and satisfying. Chouriçinhos and Shishito Peppers: The smoky, blistered peppers is simply perfect. It's a dish that hits all the right notes. Mac & Cheese Portuguese Style with Linguiça: Comfort food with a twist. The linguiça adds a smoky, spicy kick to the creamy pasta, making this a must-try even among all the other amazing options. The best part? These are just a few of the many choices on the menu. Tasca Tasca has a vast and varied selection of tapas that ensures there's truly something for everyone. Each plate is crafted with care and packed with flavor--it's impossible to make a bad choice here. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and unpretentious. The service is consistently attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. The staff clearly knows and loves the menu, and they're happy to help guide you through it. If there's one downside, it's the lack of parking, so plan ahead or be ready to take a stroll from a nearby lot. But once you're inside, any parking hassle is quickly forgotten. In short, Tasca Tasca is a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a casual solo dinner, a fun date night, or a place to graze and chat with friends over great food and wine, it delivers on all fronts. Come hungry--and maybe wear stretchy pants.

I can't believe I still have not left a review for Tasca Tasca. It is by far one of our favorite places to eat at, in Sonoma. The service is always warm & extremely friendly, we aren't only checked on by our server but everyone else working there always makes sure we are being taken care of. You can't go wrong with anything you order, but for sure the Pig Ears are always a must! The food is very filling & seasoned perfectly, as my husband says, "it should be a crime for the food to taste this good!". They can accommodate large groups but since the space is small, I'd recommend making a reservation for groups larger than 4 people -- especially on a weekend. Photo 7 Items - Front left to right : steak tartare, potatoes "ao murro" Back left to right: smoked duck breast, pate of sardines, shrimp passion fruit ceviche, fried spicy pig's ears, Dungeness crab empadas

If you love to try a bunch of things and not be tied down to a single entree, this is for you. Portuguese tapas! We love Portugal, and we love having this experience in Sonoma County. Must try: Fried pig's ear (yes, just do it!!) Bacalao (cod cakes) Crab empanadas Shrimp ceviche Olive oil ice cream Delicious and a really good deal!

Located just steps from Sonoma Plaza, there is street parking all around, but we took the complimentary shuttle from our hotel which is very convenient for a day of sipping bubbles. Morgynne was our server and super knowledgeable, giving detailed descriptions of wines we tried, and was patient with us, taking our sweet time enjoying our glasses and documenting our visit. I had the Champagne Flight ($35) and the #YEShusband had the Rosé Flight ($25). The Champagne flight included pours of: Champagne G.H. Mumm Grand Cordon Brut, Champagne Monthuys Brut, and Champagne Château de Bligny Grande Réserve. The Rosé flight included pours of: Cuvée Françoise, Langlois Brut Rosé, and Lucien Albrecht Brut Rosé. We also ordered some additional post-flight glasses of the Schramsberg Mirabelle Blanc de Blancs and Lucien Albrecht Brut Rosé to cap off our time at SIGH. Everything about SIGH is top notch: from the selection of bubbles ranging from California noteables to European standouts, to the curated decor and vibes, this is a must stop when you're in Sonoma. And for after tasting, a variety of coffees. The wines I tried were all delicious. I purchased 3 bottles. When you enter you'll notice a more homey decor to the place. Warm colors all around and even warmer service once you sit down. Every single experience Ive had here is been nothing less of 110%. Theres always this good balance professionalism with lightheartedness that pair so well for the atmosphere. Because at its core this restaurant is high scale. It definitely has that higher scale vibe but if never comes off as pretentious though. This particular I took my wifey here for our 10th year anniversary together. And we were greeting by a nice little card from the "Fig Family." We ended up trying the Seared Halloumi and I was shocked at how much I liked it. Very light flavors but still enough variety with the crispy spigarello and pine nuts to keep things fun. The lemon never feels too overwhelming. For mains my wife got the Mushroom RisottoI think? Or maybe it was Butternut Squash Risotto? I got the Fig Burger and both were amazing. The only reason I didn't get her Risotto was simply because I already had it at lunch time, but that still didn't stop me from taking a bite. Each rice like grain had a perfect chew and flavor to each bite. Even being the picky person that I am with veggies, I appreciated the veggies addition to the dish. I still think though that the sure winner was my Fig Burger. This burger is everything we wish our local breweries burger was. A harmonic balance between salty and sweet. Im down to get a little crazy with burgers but if it's too sweet, it kinda loses the appeal for me. It takes away too much from the burgers roots. So yea. Go here. Make reservations too. I know for myself I made mine about a month in advance so it's hard to say how hard it is to get a table here. But hopefully it's not too bad. Parking by the way is just street parking. Despite that Ive always been able to get a park on W Spain St right before I pull up to the restaurant. OH! And thanks again Girl and the Fig family! You made the end to our anniversary quite magical!
