Honestly, we went to multiple places and Roche was our favorite! Definitely request Sharon when you go- she is super knowledgeable and explains everything from a consumers point of view. Also you can feel good knowing you had good wine for a reasonable price here. 100% recommend for your next Sonoma visit! read more

We were exploring Sonoma and saw a sign for a brewery, so we headed on over. An indoor/outdoor tasting room with wine and beer makes this a great stop! Some street parking available, but also off the main drag in Sonoma, so it's very walkable from wherever you find parking. We chose to hangout on the patio, so we didn't really see inside. The patio is spacious, well-decorated, and has a bit of shade to escape the California sun. The staff was really friendly and conversational during our visit! They have a few beers and plenty of wine available to sample! We tried a few of their brews during our visit! They were refreshing and crisp. Nothing to blow you out of the water, but a great alternative to all the wine throughout Sonoma. read more

Open until 7:30pm and turned us away at 6:50pm for a flight because they "typically take an hour". Not very hospitable in the hospitality industry. I was happy to take my business somewhere else that appreciated it. read more

Roche never misses! It's our favorite Sonoma hangout cute spot off the plaza with a cozy tasting room and a patio perfect for sipping and people-watching. Sandy greeted us like old friends, and Mark kept the good vibes and pours flowing! We tried both the Select and Reserve tasting All delicious, all bottle-worthy. Absolutely fantastic winery. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Brenden who was incredibly hospitable. He also might've turned me out into a Chardonnay drinker. I usually lean towards Pinot. Which they also have is wonderful. But I was super surprised by how good their Chardonnay is. Fruit forward and absolutely delicious.. The winery itself is very cool and super fun to hang out at. The even serve beer for the non-wine drinkers. I'm not sure how to leave photos but I wish I could. I highly recommend checking this place out. These are the kind of wineries that make me like Sonoma over Napa. Ended up buying a case and will be back very soon for more. read more

Absolutely terrible experience at Roche Winery Downtown on July 25 around 2 pm. We were told we could sit anywhere, and the employee who checked us in said he would come by with water. He never did. No one ever came to our table to take our order, check on us, or even acknowledge us. What made it even more frustrating was watching the same employee stop by to change and refill a dog's water bowl while we were still sitting there waiting for service. A dog received attention before we did lol. Meanwhile, we watched other guests who arrived after us get greeted, given water, and served immediately. As an Asian couple, the difference in treatment was hard not to notice and left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. We eventually left without ever being served. Regardless of intent, this was unacceptable service and not the level of hospitality anyone should expect. read more

We stumbled upon this place while walking around Sonoma Square! The wine was delicious and the service was great. The have a cute outdoor patio with fire pits and heaters. Ben helped up pick out the perfect wine and was so helpful. He was attentive, checking on us, making us feel at home and even offered to take a picture of my boyfriend and I when he noticed we were taking a selfie. The individuals who work here made the experience! read more

Honestly guys, I did not expect this place to be as comfortable with great Customer Service. This is located downtown. It is the wine tasting room. Mark is amazing with great attitude and great Customer Service. It's because of him that I became a member of this winery. The Chardonnay is amazing and I enjoyed the Pinot noir. They offer a couple of them. I am from out of town if I was nearby I would probably be here every weekend. Thank you, Mark! for making this experience. Very fun for me and my wife. read more

Select Tasting: $35/tasting for 4 pours, and a Reserve Tasting: $45/tasting for 4 pours, as of our 3/6/24 visit. Roche Winery is a little house located just off of the Sonoma Plaza, the historic square in downtown Sonoma. They have a small indoor tasting room and gift shop, as well as the "Tap Room", but what we really liked was the outdoor space in front, along the street. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, overlooking the front patio area with fire pit. Very nice ambiance, and you get to watch all the people milling around town. We enjoyed a relaxing, midweek tasting experience with Sandy, who poured our wines and gave us a nice explanation of each. We shared a Select and Reserve tasting, so we could try more of their offerings, and found several that we really liked, including the '21 American Oaked Chardonnay, the '21 Tamarix (a sweet Pinot Rosé), the '18 Longford Pinot Noir, and the '21 El Nino (a Bordeaux blend), and we purchased bottles of each. We stopped in just before closing, and had dinner plans, so we weren't able to try anything from their food menu. They do offer a Cheese & Fruit Tray ($26), an Artisan Charcuterie Board ($32), and deli case items such as crackers, charcuterie meats, cheeses, tapenade, olives, fig jam, and chocolates, all provided by Aunt Momo's, wine country ranch cooking. Overall, Roche is a cute little winery, right in the heart of downtown Sonoma, offering a nice selection of wines and munchies. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Roche is such a great place to come for wine. And now... beer too! I love that they offer a wide variety of wine - from sparkling, to white wine to a good selection of reds. Now that they have a tap room, we've been enjoying their family-brewed beer on tap - the blonde ale is the most refreshing, however, their seasonal brew, which is a dark lager, is surprisingly crisp and delicious! Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always providing great service. The downtown tasting room is located in a great spot, with easy access to the square. Seek out street parking or park behind Mary's then walk your way to the tasting room. read more

We stopped by Roche since it was open later than most spots and were very happy we did! They have a huge outdoor patio that's dog friendly and lots of cute tables throughout. The main building is the tasting room which also has lots of fun signs and trinkets for purchase. At the back house they also have beer on tap. Since it was about an hour until close, we could only get a glass. The rosé was a bit sweet for my taste but we enjoyed the Unoakes Chardonnay. We'll be back on our next trip to Sonoma! read more

Decided to stop at a winery today and ended up here at Roche Winery in downtown Sonoma. We stopped in at 11:30am on a Thursday. It was slow with patrons, but very enjoyable! We had Sandy helping us. She was incredibly knowledgeable and fun to listen and talk to. My mom became a member. The atmosphere and wine was delightful, and remember to bring good company :) we really liked the wine. Favorites: American Oak Chard, Reserve Merlot, Tipperary Pinot Nior and the Unoaked Chard was a surprise. Check it out and ask for Sandy! read more

My wife and I love coming into the sonoma area and once visit we had lunch at the Eldorado Kitchen. Well, lucky for us there was wine tasting across the street!!! We sat outside because it was a nice cool day and sitting by the fire with some red wine sounded right up our alley. Our sommelier was very nice and informative and we both got a Reserve tasting flight. We both really liked their pinot's and their Genevieve varietal. If your ever in the area I would highly recommend stopping by. we went there on a weekday but I can see where they would be packed after normal business hours and on the weekends due to tourism travel so plan and make reservations accordingly! read more

A pleasant discovery while walking the square. We wandered down W Spain Street. The outside patio and patron activity lured us to take a closer look. We decided to try a new vintner/label. The tasting menu provided several options. We settled on a few bottles of their red varietal, 2018 Pinot Noir Reserve. Our tasting describes this as silky-complex with fruit notes. Service and animal friendly atmosphere was very relaxed. read more

My family and I had such a fun time at the winery! Mark & Rodd, especially, made our time so fun! He was very insightful and taught us so much without making it too formal or fluffy. Between the walk through the vineyard, the wine itself, and the staff, our experience was absolutely phenomenal!! We were sad to leave because of people like them! read more

My husband and I had a reservation on Sunday and we arrived about half an hour early, but they were nice enough to seat us still. We both did a tasting with Nikki serving us. I love white wines, and favor Chardonnays and Sav Blancs so I was excited that they had a handful of white wines available. Nikki was very knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't feel rushed during our tasting and that really helped our experience. It was a nice way to enjoy the beginning of our Sunday afternoon. read more

Great wine tasting at Sonoma Plaza with indoor outdoor seating . We especially enjoyed the French oak Chardonnay and the sparkling rose. I am not one who likes sweet so the rose was great. My wife and I where introduce to Roche vineyards back in 2017 and since then, we have been members here. Love the fact we get to enjoy great local wines, in a great location near the beautiful downtown Sonoma square. Plenty of wine options, from whites, chardonnay, pinot, merlot, rose, cabs. They also do cheese and charcuterie, brie and fruit. And much more. Come on in, either if is cold outside, you will warm up by the fireplace and a nice glass of Merlot. Or if it hot outside, a nice glass of Sparkling Rosé might do it for you. The staff is always super nice, very friendly and after coming here for some years, we have developed a friendly friendship. So next time you are in downtown Sonoma, and you are feeling like drinking wine and all the other wineries are already close, head on over to Roche. They close at 7:30 pm for those of us who crave that late glass of wine. read more

Upon arriving to Sonoma this was our first stop as some places close a bit earlier. Mike took care of us and was amazing throughout our visit. We had a great visit. The grounds were beautiful and the setting very welcoming. This winery attracted our attention because they have a good selection of rose' and Chardonnay, my favorites. The red wines were very good too. Our sommelier was very personable and a lot of fun. We enjoyed a brie plate, which was better than some of those we have had at other wineries- reasonably priced and tasty, a fairly generous portion.
