Acacia at Buena Vista Winery recommended we head over to Capo Isetta, a newer local wine bar that stays open until 10pm, and I'm so glad we did. The owner, Bill, immediately won us over. If this is what Sonoma grandpas are like, we want to meet more of them. Mr. Bill has the kindest spirit, light, joyful, welcoming, and genuinely present with everyone. That energy truly set the tone for the night. There were two bartenders working as well, and they were just as personable and down-to-earth. Our glasses never went empty. While they don't have bar snacks yet, the sense of community was real, people around the bar were happily sharing Trader Joe's snacks, which honestly added to the charm. The vibe here was incredible. Between the friendly crowd, comfortable seating, and bright, inviting lighting, it felt easy to settle in and stay awhile. A great new addition to the Plaza in Sonoma! Capo Isetta offers up some amazing wines. I dropped in today without a reservation and spent a wonderful afternoon tasting some extraordinary wines. Walter (a WSET2), personable with a great sense of humor, knew his wines and provided great insight and excellent overviews of their product. I visited Capo Isetta on a lovely March afternoon and enjoyed the 6 wine tasting with my husband and our 8 month old baby. Walked in (without reservations) and found a perfect seat by the front door immediately. There was plenty of room for our stroller.
