    Guacamole Toast with fried eggs
    Jonathan B.

Benicia is open from 7am to 8pm for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's informal and conveniently located off the lobby. I only got to try it for breakfast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was crowded and LOUD. Somehow the ceiling seems to amplify the sound.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were lots of servers and the ones we interacted with were quite nice but they were overwhelmed. Guacamole Toast: generous amount of avocado and a good kick from the chipotle cream and pickled shallots. The bread didn't quite work for me. Steel Cut Oats: quinoa with apples and cranberries. Kind of bland. The drip coffee is La Colombe. Benicia is convenient and the food is ok. Did I say it was loud?

    Carneros Bread Pudding French Toast

Benicia's Kitchen serves up some of the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The highlights were the bread pudding french toast and smoked fish and bagel platter. My toddler and the adults who ate her leftovers enjoyed the oatmeal and açaí yogurt bowls. I would not get the chicken apple sausage again. For dinner, we ordered the chicken caesar salad, pork chop, and mushroom cavatelli. The chicken in the salad and the accompaniments for the pork chop were well seasoned. The pasta was bland. The overall quality at Benicia's greatly improved our hotel experience during a rainy holiday.

We had a nice relaxing afternoon yesterday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes are upscale, the food was good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We both got the eggs Benedict and we shared a bottle of champagne. We also got the cheesecake for dessert. The service was good. It was a rainy Sunday and not busy so the bartender was taking care of the entire restaurant. He was attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I made a reservation on open table, but we didn't need it, there was plenty of seating. The total bill was $130 for two people. The restaurant is inside the Lodge at Sonoma Resort. I will come back! I liked it.

We had breakfast while staying the weekend to celebrate a couple of birthdays. I highly recommend the lodge breakfast with chicken apple sausage. Their Carneros bread pudding French toast was a hit at the table and we all agreed that the coffee was very tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was relaxing and we were able to walk in and grab a table for four on a Saturday morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pros: Delicious breakfast and coffee in a relaxing atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cons: NA

This restaurant is inside the Lodge at Sonoma. We had breakfast here mornings while staying at the lodge. It was a classy operation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was modern and nicely furnished.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried to sample a different dish each morning. I had Huevos Rancheros, Guacamole Toast, Huevos con Chorizo, and Chilaquiles. The dishes were prepared to order and had great presentation; all were very good. The service was great.

3.5 Stars. Benicia's Kitchen is a great place to grab breakfast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is plenty of seating and we went during the slow season in Sonoma so it was not very packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the decor and the relaxed vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While it was not the most outstanding breakfast I have ever had, it did leave me satisfied. The waffles were a great texture and were accompanied with caramelized apples that were the perfect amount of sweetness. The side of bacon was a generous serving for a side. The chicken sausage was delicious. I would definitely go back. I was staying at the hotel so it was a convenient and tasty breakfast option.

    FARMER'S SALAD
    Caron M.

Arrived at the attached hotel starving on a Sunday late afternoon. As the restaurant is right off the lobby, sitting down for a meal was the clear choice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is airy and light, and I was seated promptly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Oddly, who let the hotel was busy, there was only one other table occupied in the dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did order a cocktail, and the cherry gin sour was great. As I said I was starving, so I smacked on the truffle fries (crispy and light) and shishito pepper (tasty but a bit oily and heavy) before enjoying the farmer's salad for dinner. Loved the shaved vegetables in it, and the portion was generous so I had no hope of finishing. I look forward to trying break there in the next couple of days.

First off the hotel is WONDERFUL Our favorite hotel thus far Usually we're not a fan of hotel restaurants but we had to check them out. RAUL was VERY VERY nice. Great service, great convo, & a great vibe- Also gave us good recommendations which we appreciated Steak & eggs were a generous portion that came out fairly quickly- Love the chimichurri & the grilled onions Breakfast potatoes were PERFECT Steak & eggs were both not seasoned ): but that was the only bad thing we experienced! everything else made up for it. Will definitely skip the chicken sausage next time though Also, great michelada Overall, will definitely be back!

We ate at Benicia's three times while staying at the Lodge at Sonoma. The wait staff was excellent and kind. The food was well-prepared and delicious. Being there over Thanksgiving, some of the offerings were unique. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a nice setting, but small and fills up quickly at times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Breakfast: They bring a complimentary little bowl of fruit, which is nice. Chilaquiles are fine, but come with carne in the sauce, which we didn't realize. The bread pudding French toast is very good, no complaints, except for maybe the calorie count. Eggs Benedict are okay, but I ordered it with the smoked salmon and it was way too salty. The English muffins are exceptional. The sourdough toast was also good and the French butter served with it is extraordinary. The omelette with spinach and goat cheese was large but not a stand out, a bit dry. Dinner: Excellent kale salad with butternut squash purée. Blistered shishito peppers were the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Worth a visit if are the resort.

Delicious breakfast!!! We got the chilaquiles and the birria tacos. They were nice enough to sub 1 taco with a side of fruit. Tasty, and the service was great and quick too!

    BUFFALO CHICKEN TENDERS
    Elena S.

Food is delicious, both breakfast and poolside. The bread pudding french toast was top notch, as were the country potatoes. I would skip the sausage next time. Buffalo chicken tenders and fries are a game changer by the pool and the staff is so nice.

I don't know if it's because we came in during a rush or we were hungry but despite being seated quickly, service was a bit slow. Despite that, we really enjoyed our meal. I had steak and eggs (pictured) but I wasn't expecting so much meat! It was a little overwhelming but definitely filling. My mom had avocado toast with smoked salmon (an added cost) but she (and my sister) were fans. My biggest recommendation is read the menu thoroughly, my dad was expecting a lot of stuff to come with his meal but didn't realize that some things were optional and the waiter didn't clarify. Slightly expensive but pretty good food.

Morning breakfast to start out my day in Sonoma. Raul greeted us and helped with our decision with The Breakfast Lodge with English muffin and bread pudding toast with chicken sausage. Raul was attentive and wonderful server. The meal felt special and feeling ready for the day.

So crispy and garlicky! And, the kitchen (plus our amazing server Gustavo!!) was kind enough to make a custom pesto cavatelli for me because I didn't want the cavatelli with morel mushrooms! I will be thinking about the texture of this pasta + the pistachio pesto for a long time. They kept the corn pudding of the original dish at the bottom and it was such a good combination of flavors. I got chicken added on top. I got an espresso martini with gin; pretty good, just wished there was a bit more espresso flavor. Probably would order one of their house cocktails instead next time. Lastly we had the stone fruit cobbler with ice cream and a pine nut/pistachio brittle. Unlike any other cobbler I've ever had. Perfection of different textures. Also, we had the duck fat fries on another day; they were delightfully crispy and lightly seasoned with garlic. The ranch it came with was so yummy and definitely dill-forward. I'd definitely come back! Thank you for your hospitality.

We ordered oysters, deviled eggs, and a ceasar salad to start, then got the steak and broccoli for a main course. I loved the oysters, steak, chimichurri that came on it, crispy potatoes, and deviled eggs. These might have actually been some of the best crispy potatoes I've ever had, they did them pretty perfectly. The Caesar salad was a little mayo heavy in some bites and anchovy heavy in others, dressing could have been mixed a little better, but it was still good for the most part and a good portion too. I was glad we got the broccoli to have another vegetable, but didn't love the sauce on it. It didn't really go with what we were eating, and just felt like it could've been rounded out a little more. We lucked out, didn't have a reservation but they had a spot for us on the outdoor patio, which ended up being the perfect spot to dine on a nice warm evening. It was quaint and felt like someone's backyard, highly recommend sitting back here when the weather is good.

Sure I was interested in some food but it was also a football Sunday and I wanted a cold frosty beer to celebrate my hike and the start of my roadtrip. I don't do strict planning when it comes to eating and drinking. I often find it more intriguing when serendipity plays a hand. I'm walking down this town's main retail square, insured something was within reach. I pass by this unassuming dive bar with no signage but very well laid out inside. It was surprisingly quiet for a weekend afternoon in a touristy spot. Friendly bartender asked me what I wanted. But I ask first if I could get our local football game on and if they served food. Game yes said it would be on within minutes. Food unfortunately no but there were tons of options outside the door. Ordered a cold lager on tap from the east coast. The lager was light cold and refreshing. I think I finished it within minutes. Tender was quick to ask for a refill, love that. I next get a beer refill, and a Jameson on the rocks to quietly sip on, as I was now committed to watching the first half there. Very impressive glass and pour on the Irish whisky. I take a few sips but finish my beer, but this time much longer to down as I wasn't so parched now. I sip the rest of the whisky but now well diluted from the cold ice, which makes it so much more smooth to me. It opens the spirit, takes away the heat and blooms the flavors. My second round took over an hour. Then halftime hits in the game with a close score, even though my team did not look good. I tell the bartender that I'll close out to look for some lunch. By this time the bar was filling up. 3 perfectly timed drinks for well under $10 bucks a pop just sent me on my long weekend on a sweet note. I found food around the corner where they had a tv and I was able to watch the remaining of the game there. If no TVs were found, I would have gone back to the bar to finish the game.
