My Texas driver's license. Have never had a problem with it "scanning."
    Jarrell K.

If I had the review about the racism here I would've avoided this place. I went there with my girlfriend last night. Seemed decent enough until we were both asked for our ID's. My girlfriend (who happens to be Caucasian) gave their ID first and the female bartender slid it through the scanner, it beeped, and she said it was good. However, when I handed my ID to the bartender, she gave it a weird look and slid it through the scanner. The scanner bleeped and she tried scanning it again. She informed me it wasn't scanning properly. She rubbed it on her shirt then attempted a few more times to scan it and it beeped just like my girlfriends but she claimed it wasn't working. She said she couldn't serve me alcohol unless I had a way of proving I was 21 or over. I informed her I wasn't even drinking and that the ID was real. She claimed it wasn't real or it would scan properly. She told me I couldn't stay in the bar because if the commission came in they would lose their liquor license. My girlfriend was told they could stay but I had to leave. My girlfriend politely declined and we both left together. I even tried telling the bartender the year I was born and asked if a birth certificate would help but she said only a picture ID would work. We went to another bar in Petaluma and my ID scanned just fine. Completely unacceptable. Oh yea and btw, I'm 30 years old with a full beard and mustache. Can't believe that it's 2021 and I'm still getting kicked out of bars because they don't like "my kind." P.S. The bartender wasn't even wearing a mask. Way to stop the spread -_-

I love this local spot. No frills, just a cool casual spot for drinks in the town square. Ideal central location, good drink prices, draft beers, a juke box, good service, and some bar games. What is not to like? This spot offers bar seating and a few booths. All of the seats are quite comfortable. I usually sit at the bar but the booths are fun if you come with a larger group. Everything is open seating. The main bartender, who is always there when I visit, is a stern and friendly guy. He may come across a bit serious, at first, but he is actually quite nice and always very attentive. Another fun element of this little bar is that the locals come here quite often. You never know who you may end up bumping into. Visitors include other local bar and restaurant owners, locals who live within walking distance, and many wine-industry peeps. It is also a common post-party spot for wedding guests. This will continue to be one of my favorite spots when I visit the Sonoma Square.

    Great lil local bar.

Bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. Some really interesting art and furniture that celebrates champagne. There's a wall with a mosaic of bottle tops, and stools made from corks. Located just steps from Sonoma Plaza, there is street parking all around, but we took the complimentary shuttle from our hotel which is very convenient for a day of sipping bubbles. SIGH does not take reservations (first come, first served) but we had no trouble snagging a prime spot at the bar on a Friday afternoon. Morgynne was our server and super knowledgeable, giving detailed descriptions of wines we tried, and was patient with us, taking our sweet time enjoying our glasses and documenting our visit. I had the Champagne Flight ($35) and the #YEShusband had the Rosé Flight ($25). The Champagne flight included pours of: Champagne G.H. Mumm Grand Cordon Brut, Champagne Monthuys Brut, and Champagne Château de Bligny Grande Réserve. The Rosé flight included pours of: Cuvée Françoise, Langlois Brut Rosé, and Lucien Albrecht Brut Rosé. We also ordered some additional post-flight glasses of the Schramsberg Mirabelle Blanc de Blancs and Lucien Albrecht Brut Rosé to cap off our time at SIGH. Everything about SIGH is top notch: from the selection of bubbles ranging from California noteables to European standouts, to the curated decor and vibes, this is a must stop when you're in Sonoma. Thank you to Morgynne and the whole SIGH team for a memorable visit-we will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, what started as an exciting night quickly took a disappointing turn when one of my colleagues was denied entry because he was wearing a bandana as a stylish hair covering. The staff member at the door told him that his bandana indicated gang affiliation. As a Black man, he was singled out based on an assumption that was both offensive and troubling. There were no posted signs indicating a dress code prohibiting bandanas, hats, or similar headwear. From our perspective, it appeared that our group of Black and Brown professionals was unfairly judged based on stereotypes rather than any actual behavior. What made the experience even more concerning was discovering other reviews that raised similar concerns about the treatment of non-white patrons. Afterward, I also noticed photos on the establishment's social media pages showing white patrons wearing bandanas around their necks and on their heads, which only reinforced our perception that the policy was not being applied consistently. As someone visiting Sonoma for the first time, this experience was unsettling and deeply disappointing. Several members of our group had already entered the bar and ordered food, but after what happened, we chose to pay our tabs and leave. We do not support businesses where we feel discrimination, bias, or racial profiling may be at play. Fortunately, we found another local establishment that welcomed our group of more than 30 colleagues with warmth and professionalism, and we were happy to spend our money there instead. I sincerely hope management takes a closer look at its policies, staff training, and how those policies are enforced. Every guest deserves to be treated with respect and fairness. Based on this experience, I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this establishment to others.

Our party of four approached the bar and attempted to move a stool from the end of the bar to help accommodate our group. Instead of offering assistance or guidance, the female bartender mouthed from behind the bar, "That does not work for us, you will have to ask others to move." The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. In a very small establishment, I would expect staff--especially bartenders--to play an active role in helping organize seating and accommodating guests when possible, or at least to communicate in a friendly and solution-oriented manner. A simple suggestion or offer to assist would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, the lack of warmth and accommodation made us feel unwelcome and discouraged us from staying or spending beyond one round. While the bar may have potential, customer service is a key part of the experience, and this visit fell short. I hope management considers reinforcing a more hospitable and proactive approach toward guest service.

Yesterday was a low key chill day, and we needed a place to just relax and begin to let go of all the stress. The girl and the fig was just right. We are like an hour away from Sonoma, and we been here many times just never together. The restaurant's environment is extremely amazing. We showed up, no previous reservation made,we showed up during their peak hours and they managed to seat us within 5 mins perfectly were we requested. Perfect ambiance to sit, drink, eat and enjoy a beautiful sunset. We started with The Morel mushroom tartare, which is morel mushrooms, with an egg, shallots and chives oil over a perfectly well toasted sourdough. Delicious! The steak tartare did not disappoint either. Great balance of flavor between the two. The mushroom earthy flavors along with a light hint of pesto from the morel tartare really balanced out the richness from the steak tartare. The pickled figs served with in the steak tartare really called my attention as they were delicious as well. That was my first having pickled figs :) The salad was delicious, I am a sucker for cheese and the perfectly ripe figs along with the chèvre cheese truly hit the spot. The wild flounder pouched was the wild surprise! I love a restaurant that preps their seafood just right. I love seafood! And I do not like it when it's over cooked. This dish did not disappoint! It was so rich and delicious. Flaky yet nicely seared on one side full of that citrus flavors along which just enhances fish's flavor once it hits the taste buds! The flounder was served over a bed of mashed potato and spinach. That perfect combination. The drinks were delicious as well. Honestly, the service, the food, the vibe, the sunset it was all perfect. I just didn't order anything that blew me away or that I think is particularly unique or difficult, hence the 4 stars. I came with a group for lunch on a sunny Saturday and sat on the patio. Although there are umbrellas, our specific table was exposed and we were roasting! They were kind enough to relocate us to another part of the patio despite the crowds. Otherwise, it felt bright and cheery! For food, I ordered the fig & arugula salad and the smoked salmon. The salad was a great portion size for a meal (or to share as a side), it was perfectly dressed, and the toppings were proportional & balanced. One of the better salads I've had out! The smoked salmon was good but nothing to write home about. Their house chips are nice and thick, which I like, but a little too salty for me. I'd like to come back up to try the mussels, duck or some other entree next time I'm in the area, though I probably wouldn't go out of my way.
