Came in to buy a chicken panini because I heard it's the best in town and was so disappointed by my experience. The workers inside did not greet or pay attention to me and I had to wait 15 minutes before I could even place my order because they weren't attentive. Geo and Brenda were constantly flirting while making my sandwich, which is great but I wish they were professional in front of customers while handling customers food. I went outside to take a call to avoid seeing their sexualizing comments. Because they were so busy chatting they forgot to put chicken in my CHICKEN panini. We stopped into Sonoma's Best in search of a reprieve and nourishment during our bike ride tour of Sonoma. The bike tour company recommended this place. We found a delicious jambon et beurre sandwich, fruit cup and iced mocha. Oh and a lemon poppy seed scone which was to die for. We took our treasures to the back patio where we were able to sit and relax a bit in the shade while enjoying our treats. Next time we will try some local wine and a grilled cheese sandwich. Wished this place was on our way out of town so we could grab another coffee and pastry in the morning. But maybe next trip! read more

My with was at this place with some friends for a morning coffee. She picked up a premade pastrami sandwich out of a cooler for my lunch. Very nice of her to do that. Worse sandwich I have ever eaten. Scared to ask how much she wasted for the sandwich. Bread dry/old tough. Pickles, three on each side of the sandwich, stacked perfectly on top of each other. Scattering of mustard, coleslaw and pastrami minimal. Overall a waste of money and time to eat it. But I am sure it was not cheap being it was from Sonoma's "get the highest price we can for everything "Best. So many better places to get sandwiches in Sonoma. Really cute and quaint shop near where we stayed, we came in one day for coffee and breakfast. You order from the deli counter for food and then at the coffee bar for coffee and to pay. We got a breakfast burrito, a breakfast sandwich croissant, a raspberry pastry, and two coffees. The man at the deli was a bit abrasive but we got things ordered and didn't wait too long for our food. Pastry was tasty and so was our coffee so I'd give that a 5 star. They had plenty of seating behind, some inside, and a few upfront with a decent amount of easy accessible parking. When I went to get the food they only wanted to hand it over if I had my number - I get this when its super busy but I was one of the few customers in at the time. The breakfast burrito was huge and a good bang for your buck but half was cold and the other half hot? The flavor would have been great but seemed like half the cheese was not melted at all, and the potatos they use are boiled but think using tator tots would be a nice addition instead. The breakfast croissant was tasty and may be what I get next time. Would love to try lunch here. read more

Great little shop just a mile or two east of Sonoma's main square. So worth a short bike ride to. They had everything from snacks to full lunch items. Wish we would've discovered it earlier in the week for items for our picnics and dinners. They also had some fun gifts and souvenirs. We came specifically for an afternoon coffee. Found this place down the street from where I'm working this week. Barista Pablo was grinding fresh beans when I walked through the door. The customer engagement is top notch and genuine. I never knew how much I wanted a Panini untill today in the afternoon. It was cold afternoon and the roads and wineries were all somewhat empty. Probably since it's super bowl weekend and everyone is getting ready for tomorrow...Me and my friends just got done wine tasting and even after a big breakfast, we were hungry for some tasty grub. That's when one of them recommend "the cafe." Whenever we go to Buena Vista to pick up our wine shipments, we always pass by this one cafe. "Sonoma's Best" read across the top but I had always wondered if it lived up to the name; that was till today. We decided to drop by for lunch and was pretty excited to finally try this place. After getting lucky with parking(there's a small parking lot but I imagine that it gets full pretty easily), we went aside and the first thing I noticed was the Gelato. Ok ok. A little fancy. I like it! We stepped into the cafe and saw all the Paninis up for display in the menu. When I saw the Roast Beef one I remembered an unfortunate event 2 months ago when I went to Apple Hill... Me and my friends got an early lunch and out of all the dishes, mine was the worst. I was on the fence about getting a Roast Beef Sandwich and regretted it after I tasted my friends. That day has haunted me ever since...That was till today. In an act of redemption, I ordered the Roast Beef sammy and the group also ordered the Potato Soup and finally were my cravings met from that tragic Apple Hill adventure. The Roast Beef itself had a soft texture. The flavor of it blended well with the melted Cheddar Cheese but that wasn't all. At the end of every bite was the lingering flavor of horseradish which warmed my soul. I friggin love horseradish!! Sonoma's best put's the perfect amount of Horseradish Aioli on the sandwich. It's almost like eating a French Dip sandwich without having to dip the sandwich in Au Jus. The bread was toasted perfectly too. Every bite had a good amount of crunch from the outside but still a warm inside to compliment the rest of the sandwich. If you reaallllllly need to dip your sandwich in something, there is always the soup. The Potato soup had a rich and comforting flavor. Not only that but there was a good amount of chunks of Potato in it. Gotta have a good number of chunks of Potato if it's Potato Soup! On top all of this, every single person employee working here was very friendly and served us with a smile! I love this place. The only thing that I found odd was that my sandwich wasn't nearly as big as my friends Chicken Panini. There's was so big they ended up sharing it with eachother so just a heads up. Despite that, I would still order the Roast Beef sandwich again. Also the price for everything today was very affordable. If this is Sonoma's Best, I'd hate to see its mediocre, or its worst. We just left with our coffees in hand after experiencing possibly the rudest customer service ever. When we arrived a younger employee was struggling with the sudden influx of customers and remarked to the people ahead of us that she was going to ask for help. An elder employee came out and was severely irritated to be burdened with helping this young girl. After witnessing the elder employee being rude to customers over a line, my husband said we should go. He was correct. The coffee took a bit to make and we understood due to the amount of people in the shop. We received our coffees and they were a little warm. I couldn't find a sleeve so I politely asked if we were looking in the wrong spot and the younger employee asked the elder if there was a place to grab one. The elder employee says "for a cappuccino?!" Like I'm some sort of an asshole for asking. I said "yes, please." She then takes two 12 oz cups and hurls them in my direction. I thanked her and got a dirty look. We had planned on returning tomorrow for sandwiches and our coffee was really good. However, no one needs to pay to be treated like shit anywhere. read more

I wish the tour drivers would stop bringing tourists here and reroute them to Broadway Market or even Sonoma Market instead, where the food and service is significantly better. The food is honestly really bad. Between the soggy sandwiches and gloopy pasta salads, you'd be better off grabbing food almost anywhere else. The lady working at the deli counter is always rude. The only redeeming factor is the young guy who works the coffee bar and cash register, who is very friendly and professional. The shop itself is cute, but there are tons of other cute shops in Sonoma, like Harvest Home or Hello Sonoma. Ask your tour driver to bring you to those shops instead! I absolutely adore this spot, while it has changed hands over the years, whoever takes it over does a great job doing so. If you are a local, you know this place sadly for the fact that once every few years, some dummy blows through the stop sign outside and run into the building. I am not kidding either, it has happened several times, it is sad, but each time the owner does a wonderful job restoring the building. Back on track though, the current store is a great mash up of snack, full meals, and great drinks. It is a great place to escape the downtown rush and grab a meal and hang out. On the weekends this place can get busy, but fear not as the staff do a great job at moving everyone along and providing quality snacks and meals. The gelato is especially tasty if I had to pick out one item I adore each time when visiting, but everything else as mentioned is quite good as well. Super cute and cozy deli that is perfect for a picnic pick up! One of our top Sonoma activities is bringing the dogs for a picnic in Bartholomew Park and Sonoma's Best is our go-to shop to pick up all our picnic necessities.
