    Shrimp papparedelle

Very quaint restaurant with really great food. We walked in for dinner and thought it was delicious! I had the shrimp pappardelle and he had the sole meunière. Both great dishes. And we finished with a flourless chocolate cake. Service was excellent. The server kept checking on us.

Definitely Not a Michelin Star Experience--for Service, at Least Café La Haye may have the food game going, but if Michelin gave stars for service, our waiter would be deep in the negatives. My sister and I were treated like we had activated stealth mode--no greetings, no service, not even a glance. I half expected him to say, "This aggression will not stand, man," but instead, we got nothing. Just pure paraquat energy. Thankfully, Christina (the manager and clearly the restaurant's MVP) came to the rescue. She was attentive, kind, and made sure we finally got food on the table and a little joy back in our evening. If not for her, I'd be warning everyone off entirely. Would I recommend it? Only if Christina's working--and if you don't mind earning your meal through sheer perseverance. So thank you, Christina, for bringing some soul and service to the evening. Café La Haye is lucky to have you--now if only your staff could follow your lead and recognize the living among their diners!!

Was really excited to try this restaurant as it's on the Michelin guide for Sonoma restaurants and it did not disappoint! The hostess and our waitress were both extremely friendly and gave us the best recommendations. Everything we ordered was exceptional but the standout dishes I really enjoyed were the braised short rib in puff pastry appetizer and the seasonal fish just melts in your mouth. You can tell the produce and meat they use are of the highest quality. We ended off the night with a couple of desserts and the warm apple pie cobbler paired with vanilla ice cream was truly amazing. A small but inviting restaurant that has everything you could ever want - amazing food, even better people and a cozy atmosphere!

I love Cafe La Haye! We snagged a last minute reservation for dinner. the restaurant is cute with art on the walls. the wine we ordered was very tasty and local. the pork chop and accompanying sauce was spectacular- highly recommend. we also had the appetizer special, which was heirloom tomato and burrata with a crostini. We ended the night with the yuzu cheesecake, a very tasty dessert. we were lucky with finding free street parking within a 2 minute walk. all in all, a great night in sonoma!

Went there today. Saturday night around 6:35pm. I did not have reservation, hostess is super nice and try to find me a 2--persons table. The ambience is very nice and restaurant seem to be busy. 1) Decor is modern look 2) Clean 3) Bathroom has interesting wallpainting, I don't have photo 4) I have food photos. 5) order appertizer, burrata and tomatoes and pesto sauce, very good 6) husband ordered risotto with shrimp, good 7) I ordered italian sausage with pasta, red sauce is very good I am so full, I really want to try the dessert, maybe next time.

This place was great. The food and service were fantastic. For mains we shared the pork chop and one of the specials, handmade tagliatelle with prawns. They were both so delicious! We were torn on desserts, so we ordered the apple crisp for there and got a slice of chocolate silk cake to go, which we enjoyed a few hours later. Both desserts were amazing.

    Salmon special of the night

Just amazing!!!! Service was impeccable food clean and to die for. Expensive dinner but completely worth every penny. We both ordered the salmon which just flaked away and was perfect parings with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Wine was so-so though it didn't make a difference. Will be back on all those special occasions.

We had such an once experience at Cafe La Haye! Every dish that hit our table was amazing! It was all so fresh and delicious! The restaurant is cozy and well adorned with classy art. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting without the pretentious vibe that a lot of high end restaurants have. The wine list was amazing and, most of all, we were blown away by the service! Our waiter was to notch and even artfully folded my napkin when I went to the restroom. The head chef and owner, Jose, came and checked on b each table personally and recommended dishes for us and his recommendations we spot on. This restaurant is truly a Sonoma gem not too be missed! Thank you for the incredible experience!

The intimate atmosphere, excellent service, and top-tier dishes are second to none. We had the pasta, risotto, and fish (the last one not pictured) and a bottle of wine. The food was perfectly balanced and so fresh! For dessert we had the yuzu cheesecake and one of the specials - a berry crumble. Both were stellar! The highlights include not only the spectacular food, but also the staff. We thought we lost an item at the restaurant and the staff diligently searched and communicated their updates to us. We are so grateful for the wonderful food and service, and we can't wait to come back!

    Quail special

It's hard to describe how satisfying this meal was. Beautifully presented and incredibly tasteful. From the second we walked in we felt welcomed. Our server was extraordinary and knowledgeable. The food was perfect. An absolute culinary delight both visually and sensory. We had the special sea bass, quail and shared the local beet salad. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Small, intimate, with excellent food!

    The Pork Chop

This was my second visit to Cafe La Haye and although it's been a while since the first one, everything was just as perfect as I remembered the first time. It's small and intimate right off the historic square of downtown Sonoma. The staff is warm and welcoming. Because of its size, be sure to make a reservation well in advance. We started with a glass of wine from their very nice wine list . We decided to pass on appetizers and went directly to the butter lettuce, salad, and the Caesar salad. Both were beautifully presented & perfectly dressed with tender fresh greens and in the case of the butter lettuce, salad, crispy, bacon, avocado, and a hard boiled egg. For our mains, we enjoyed the pork chop, which was slightly overcooked, and they immediately offered to remedy that by the way, and the pappardelle pasta special of the night with shrimp. we saved a little room for some dessert since we were celebrating a birthday, and the fresh fruit apple crisp with ice cream with a cappuccino was worth every single calorie , Yum! Don't miss this little gem. Next time you are in Sonoma. It will not disappoint.

We loved everything from the food, chic ambiance to the charm of the place that makes it seem like a special place. The restaurant hearing upon my little one celebrated her fourth birthday last week, whipped up a hand written birthday card welcoming her to the restaurant (pic for reference). The staff was so friendly and patient with my chatty elder one too. Overall, it was a great experience and opened up our Sonoma trip well. Gave us a great impression on the hotel too. Oh, the food. I almost forgot. We had a little bit of everything. But two things I wanted to point out - contrary to what is out there, they DO have a kids' menu and do give you one as a part of their coloring book. Second, the steak was great. Being an aspiring vegetarian, I don't say this too often, but the steak was darn good. Our server made him feel like an adult and waited on him as well. This is the #1 mentioned spot recommended to me on my post/inquiry for great romantic restaurants in the area on Facebook page "Sonoma county foodies." I have my list from them and was excited to use one of the best excuses ever to go-my mother-in-law's 75th birthday and flying in to town to see us. We got a sitter and reserved a table weeks ahead. Entering in to the restaurant, it has a cool vibe as it's also a hotel. We got there before the dinner rush, so it was relaxed when we arrived. We were seated at a table; the staff knew ahead it was my MILs bday, and they kindly wished her happy birthday several times in our time. We ordered the mushrooms for appetizer; a generous portion, but not too big to ruin dinner. It was an unusual dish we hadn't had before; beautifully plated with arugula and a slightly spicy purée. I would order it again. I got a glass of Walt Chardonnay and my MIL a sparkling wine, which she and my husband really liked. For entrees, I got the Petaluma Chicken-which was crispy outside and tender on the inside. Polenta (very creamy) and broccolini. I would say my dish was light on salt, so I added some to taste, and all was good. My husband got the vegan plate with salmon, and it looked so healthy and fresh. The tofu was crispy too, even for my hubby that doesn't eat tofu. My mother in law got the flat iron steak and frites. The steak was cooked to her liking and looked delicious. The fries were ok--I thought they were a bit under-whelming (like them piping hot) but that can't always be achieved in a busy restaurant. Mid-meal the place started buzzing with activity, and it got a bit loud but not too bad. The staff was very kind and brought us a small fudge brownie (very rich and dense) and all 3 of us had 1-2 bites and satisfied our sweet tooth for end of meal. The waiter was fantastic! I would love to return and try some different dishes and some signature cocktails as they were so tempting.

When you enter you'll notice a more homey decor to the place. Warm colors all around and even warmer service once you sit down. Every single experience Ive had here is been nothing less of 110%. Theres always this good balance professionalism with lightheartedness that pair so well for the atmosphere. Because at its core this restaurant is high scale. It definitely has that higher scale vibe but if never comes off as pretentious though. This particular I took my wifey here for our 10th year anniversary together. And we were greeting by a nice little card from the "Fig Family." We ended up trying the Seared Halloumi and I was shocked at how much I liked it. Very light flavors but still enough variety with the crispy spigarello and pine nuts to keep things fun. The lemon never feels too overwhelming. For mains my wife got the Mushroom RisottoI think? Or maybe it was Butternut Squash Risotto? I got the Fig Burger and both were amazing. The only reason I didn't get her Risotto was simply because I already had it at lunch time, but that still didn't stop me from taking a bite. Each rice like grain had a perfect chew and flavor to each bite. Even being the picky person that I am with veggies, I appreciated the veggies addition to the dish. I still think though that the sure winner was my Fig Burger. This burger is everything we wish our local breweries burger was. A harmonic balance between salty and sweet. Im down to get a little crazy with burgers but if it's too sweet, it kinda loses the appeal for me. It takes away too much from the burgers roots. So yea. Go here. Make reservations too. I know for myself I made mine about a month in advance so it's hard to say how hard it is to get a table here. But hopefully it's not too bad. Parking by the way is just street parking. Despite that Ive always been able to get a park on W Spain St right before I pull up to the restaurant. OH! And thanks again Girl and the Fig family! You made the end to our anniversary quite magical!

Was in Sonoma to see my mother and going out to lunch was on the agenda. We struck out at our first spot then saw this super cute restaurant on a drive by. The Farmhouse vibe was accurate, even from the outside. Inside was even cuter, very open and artsy. Got a lovely table in the back and received incredibly great service from Vincent. Professional, friendly, competent, knowledgeable. I don't have a huge sampling of the menu, but what we had was truly fantastic. We both had salads, my mom the Beet salad and I had a Caesar. Let me tell you, both were delicious. The Caesar dressing was perfect. Anchovy forward but not overpowering. My mom said the Beet salad was the best she had ever had. Note the picture as I'm surprised she didn't lick the bowl! We then shared a mushroom, bacon, truffle, arugula, and balsamic glazed pizza with shaved parmigiana on top. Don't like saying things like "that's the best mushroom pie I've ever had", but I believe that it was!!! Triple Wow. Beautiful thin flatbread crust, tasty sautéed mushrooms, crispy bacon bits and just a hint of truffle. The balsamic just tied it all together. Ahhhhhhhhhh... Looking forward to my return to continue exploring the menu. Thanks, mom, for living so close. Cheers

They tried. But I just don't feel it measured up…read more We had the burrata, beet salad, bucatini tomato sauce and the branzino. The burrata lacked any taste whatsoever. Knowing that it should be a mild creamy, buttery, delicate flavor, I was left searching for ANY flavor as we worked our way through it. Nothing. Beet salad wasn't bad. But again the flavor came from the overly seasoned salad dressing and no real flavor from the beets. The bucatini tomato sauce was atrocious. We had to send it back because it had no guanciale flavor, far too much watery tomato sauce and overdone bucatini. It was more like pasta soup with soggy pasta than any pasta dish I've ever made or had. When you have two pastas on the menu, they should be highlights, not afterthoughts. So glad I didn't try the carbonara which I love, and hope to find great variations everywhere I go. The branzino was pan fried, tender and somewhat juicy. Again, lacking in the flavor profile with it's pairing on the plate. We came because of this establishment's claim of celebrating seasonal ingredients. We assumed there was a level of freshness and flavor consistent with fresh off the vine procurement. We did not taste evidence of this. The prices here are Sonoma'ish. The quality of food that we had was diner like. The service was attentive and apologetic and much appreciated. But the kitchen let down their counterparts in the service area and we come for the food first.
