I just DoorDashed a rice bowl with tofu and all I can say, without cursing (good cursing) is," Wow!" That was fantastic and the vibe when I went inside to pick it up was great. Innovative, fun kitchen eatery featuring many vegetarian alternative options. From banh mi sandwiches, to bowls, to soup and ceviche there is enough for everyone. I tried the tofu bowl and vegetarian sandwich - both were extremely saucy and flavorful. The tofu bowl came with many pickled vegetables that felt like treasures to find. I ate here once and thought the place had some appeal, with fresh interesting food. I got a sandwich to go, for $16. It was a chicken sandwich, pretty tasty but with a dry bun. I don't see thinking this a good deal until that sandwich is $8. I went by today, but opted out when I realized that even a modest lunch there with a drink will be like $30-35. I'd rather go to the Swiss Hotel for lunch for around the same price as this to-go experience, and young people can't afford it at all. It's a carry out! You guys are too expensive to ever catch on as a lunch place in this town. You need a better lunch offering that average people can afford. Soup wont cut it without affordable sandwiches. $20 is too much for an average size sandwich. read more

We've always loved Allikai's sandwiches so we decided to try other dishes for a catered lunch that we picked up. All I can say is we've introduced eight other folks to Allikai that cannot wait to have another meal prepared by them. The charcuterie board was not only the prettiest one we've ever seen but it was absolutely delicious. Same with their signature potato salad and shitake ceviche (both unique and outstanding). Of course we also had to have their sandwiches - either the veggie or the butifarra. Our guests were delighted, surprised and very, very full! Welcoming team that offers creative, fresh, delicious and made to order dishes. You order inside and can eat out on a picnic table or take food to go. The interior has display cases of their desserts and cured meats and a fridge with really good grab and go creations to pick up if you are going on a wine tour or just want something to eat at the plaza or at work or around town at a park. I've had their rice bowl, chilcano soup, soba noodle soup, seasonal salad with egg and tofu, ceviche mixto, veggie sandwich, various empanadas (that sell out!), charcuterie, cheese plate, bread pudding and cookies and every time I am excited to return!!! Amazing food here! Brought my dad, who was visiting from out of town, neither of us have had Peruvian style food before so this was a first! My dad ordered the special, Allikai BLT & I ordered a rice bowl & added pork belly. We were both left speechless by how good the food was so much flavor! Service is friendly & it's cool that you can see into the kitchen as they're prepping your food. The inside is very clean & fresh unfortunately they are unable to seat anyone inside for dine in but they have a cute picnic table outside where you can enjoy your food. Apparently, my initial catering inquiry went into spam for some reason, but once that was resolved, communication with Daniel was great. I was hosting a ~80+ person event and wanted to provide a variety of sandwiches for lunch. Daniel came up with a menu of 4 different sandwiches, two that were able to accommodate vegetarian and vegan options. Being a meat lover, I did actually like the sound of the vegan option. They were great about individually labeling each type, separating them out in different containers to be picked up, plus included a couple of menus with listed ingredients that I was able to post up for my guests. The pricing was great and it probably speaks volumes that we had zero sandwiches leftover. The next time I have an event in Sonoma (hopefully next year) I'll definitely look forward to working with Allikai again. read more

Don't let this place fool you. Stop and go in. I was taken aback when I entered as it didn't seem like a typical eatery. However, the staff present greeted us right away and answered all my questions regarding what they offered there. They were very pleasant, professional, and welcoming. I wanted to try a new local place with my mom and some of the other places that came well recommended were closed on Tuesday so luckily for us Allikai was open. We were greeted by the staff on arrival and guided through the choices. I got a mortadella sandwich and my mom got a bowl of rice and veggies. Everything tasted amazing, and tasted super fresh. My sandwich was perfect, the bread was beyond the quality I'm used to getting, and the combo of sandwich ingredients were perfectly balanced. Ingredients in my mom's rice and veggies with miso sauce, as well as my sandwich included fermented items which added a unique and healthy dimension to our meal. We also tried the gluten free banana cake, which was moist and delicious. I would highly recommend this place. The prices are fair for the quality, service was lovely and quick, and it's very conveniently located in the midst of some of the most popular businesses in Sonoma. So happy to see Sonoma got a Peruvian eatery instead of the usual Mexican restaurant or tasting room! They offer sandwiches, salads, soup, rice bowls, ceviche, charcuterie plates, and desserts. Walking in you are greeted by a wall of bright colors and fun Peruvian music. It's clean, open and you can see the kitchen staff working their magic thru the 2 wall entries. A kind gentleman welcomed me in, explained the menu and said they cure their meats in house. Out of the 2 sandwiches I was considering, he suggested the Butifarra. He did not steer me wrong, it was phenomenal!!! Served on a fresh ciabatta roll, smeared with a delicious garlicky aoli, a heap of fresh thinly sliced ham (jamon) that will melt in your mouth, pickled shallots and lettuce. Every bite was a party in my mouth! They have a bench out front to enjoy your lunch, he mentioned they'd be adding more w umbrellas which will be nice to traffic watch and enjoy the fresh air. Absolutely delicious and layered with flavor. My wife and I have eaten here two days in a row and ordered nearly everything on the menu. The Chilcano Soup can be featured at a 3 Michelin star restaurant. Acid, salt, fat, umami... how!??!! Deeper flavor than the Mariana Trench. All of the sandwiches are wonderful. I prefer the Butifarra and Mortadella. The BREAD is crispy on the outside and soft to bite. Heck yeah Love the crudité and the banana cake is moist! I've been curious about what kind of food was served at this restaurant since it opened... When I saw some of the pictures of the sandwiches I knew I had to try it! I walked in and a very helpful young man directed me to the menu board and help me pick out my vegetarian sandwich! I was concerned that it might be too spicy for me... But it was full of flavor and although there was a little spice, it did not overpower anything but just gave it depth! So happy to see that Allikai Eatery was on Doordash. Working from home, sometimes you just want to order out for lunch, so glad I did today from Allikai. Was I pleasantly amazed! I had the mortadella sandwich, which I later learned they make the mortadella in-house from scratch. The freshness of the bread, the robust flavors of the mortadella and the pickled fennel all add to the unique taste this sandwich presents. I also treated myself to the banana cake. AMAZING!! and healthy too. You can tell Allikai put the "love" into the food they create. Thank you for opening in Sonoma, we needed a place like this. This is a great spot to pick up a sandwich to go. The staff are welcoming and the food was a nice surprise. I'm not familiar with Peruvian food, but everything here tastes fresh. First off besides having amazing offerings of Peruvian influences by an amazing chef Fiorella Butron who just left the as Executive Chef/Culinary Director/General Manager of Sonoma's Edge Restaurant to start and follow her own passion of owning and operating her own eatery and catering. As can be seen in other posts here there is nothing that isn't worth the journey to try. Her culinary skills and knowledge of spices allowing multiple flavors to be presented to the customers. You will not find a better seasonal affair from the distinctive freshness of the sandwiches on such fresh and inviting bread to her soup, salads, and bowls. Please do not forget to grab a desert....another one of Fiorella's extraordinary skills. If you are going in for 'grab-and-go' and have an idea of what you want phone in the order but going in and digesting the menu to allow you to interact with the talented staff to perhaps help in navigating what you didn't realize you might also want is also a major plus.
